Shay: 32YO, 5’7 ½ (1.71 m), 26-24-0, 24 KO, since 2011, Pretty Little Punchers

Before: “I am very eager to take on Shay.” Nina Dobrev tells the press in the pre-fight. “ She’s only one of the original PLP members I haven’t fought over the years. I beat Lucy Hale (and Sasha Pieterse, too), but Ashley Benson and Troian Bellisario beat. So you could say that I am 2-2 against the Punchers and this my chance to win the ‘series’ against. Besides, I just like the thought of beating that hot body down. It shows how superior I am to her.”

Shay Mitchell gives a flip of her brunette hair: “You?! Superior to me?! You are dreaming Nina. You may have taken out Lucy and Sasha, but you are nowhere near invincible. You lost to Troi and you lost to Ashely., Now you are going to lose to me. I want our first meeting to be memorable for my putting ‘The Bulgarian Big Mouth’ on the canvas where she belongs!”

Nina glowered at Shay: “I am the ‘Bulgarian Blockbuster’ and don’t you forget it!”

“Well, it does slip my mind pretty often,” Shay sneered. “”Bulgaria Big Mouth’ so so much easier to remember.”

“Okay, Mitchell, enjoy yourself now!’ Nina said menacingly. “You won’t after our fight is over.”

“I am SO scared,” Shay mocks’

Tensions run high, but FCBA Security gentlemen appear in the wings of the stage. Autumn Reeser, the PLP communications head appears and whispers in Shay’s ear. Shay says and quick goodbye and exits leaving Nina Dobrev all by herself. Nina looks irked but then turns to the crowd and smiles:

“Here I am alone on the stage while Shay slinks away.. That’s pretty much what will happen after our fight. Don’t say I didn’t tell you. See you then and thanks for coming,” Nina says and makes her exit.

Come fight night. Shay Mitchell’s enters the ring in a black one piece with golden gloves and boots (black laces). Hair is pulled back in a tight ponytail. Nina has opted for a silver one piece suit. Black gloves and boots (silver laces). Hair is pulled back in a battle braid. Tense meeting with referee, some chest bumping that is quickly cooled down by the referee with stern warnings. Suitably chided, Nina and Shay listen politely to instructions and then depart for their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Shay strikes quickly at Nina with solid rights and lefts to the jaw. Nina falls back with her gloves up high as Shay now pounds away at Nina’s juggs, ribs and finally with hooks into the belly. Nina now under heavy pressure, being backed up as she struggled to employ her jab to slow down the rampaging Mitchell. Shay trying to work Nina into the ropes in the closing minute of the round. She’s pushing Nina back step by step, but Nina using that jab to slow down Shay’s advance. Bell finds Nina clear of the ropes, but Shay has won the round wide.

R2: Shay goes right back at Nina, though this time she starts with a hard attack to the body and then switches to trying to get at Nina’s head. Nina taking the body shots and doing a good job of protecting her head. Shay starts to circle, trying to get at Nina to the head, but Nina able to block a good number of these. Shay then tries to force her way in close and suddenly NINA STRIKES BACK! Nina rams a right uppercut home behind Shay’s mitts and up into her chin. Shay looks like she’s just gotten an electric shock: she suddenly stiffens and topples forward to crash face-first onto the canvas! Nina smiles down and trots off to neutral zone. Shay groggily struggling to push herself up off the canvas as the referee’s sound rings in her ears. Shay finally able to break the count at “EIGHT!” . Fight resumes, but Shay seems too shaken to do more than cover up and let Nina pound her to the flanks until the bell. Nina Dobrev all smiles as she has stolen a round from Shay Mitchell with a knockdown no less! Shat looks stunned by the reversal as she makes her way to her stool/

R3: Nina smells blood—Shay Mitchell’s blood and she is eager to see more of it as the new round begins. Nina with lightning strike rights and lefts into Shay’s face does split the PLP fighter’s lower lips so the crimson dripples down her chin. Shay struggling to counter and she looks like she’s still hearing bells in her head from that knockdown. Shay’s counters are weak and poorly directed. Nina easily slipping passed then to slap her to the jaw. Then as Shay is finally able to protect her face, Nina goes back to thumping that fit Shay Mitchell body. Shay soon all hunching up and hurting. Shay shoving out the jab enough to avoid a shutout, but the round ends in a wide points win for Nina Dobrev.

R4: Nina comes out full of confidence and she heads right for Shay, who seems to be cautious leaving her stool. Nina immediately launches a series of blockbuster rights and lefts towards Shay’s head apparently seeking to end the fight in this round. Shay ducks under the salvo and suddenly leaps forward with a driving right that slips over Nina’s gloves and straight into the point of her chin. DOWN GOES NINA DOBREV! Shay’s surprise shot to the chin lifts Nina off her feet and sends her plummeting onto her back. Now it’s Shay Mitchell’s turn to look down at a fallen opponent with a smile before heading for the neutral corner. Nina pushing herself into a sitting position on one arm, looking around in foggy bewilderment and then she realizes referee is counting her out. Nina grimly struggles to get back to her feet which she does at “NINE!”. Referee waves Shay back in. Nina goes at Shay, trying to show she’s still full of fight, but Shay sends her reeling back with a burst of fresh leather to the head and face. Nina now has to cover her suddenly lumped up face and let Shay pound away at her to the body. The best Nina can do is stay off the ropes, but she eats a lot of leather by the time the round ends. Shay wins the round and now she has a knockdown of her won to match Nina’s.

R5: Nina and Shay both out from their corners with energy and they both try to seize control of the round. The punches are coming rapidly and striking hard to head and body in quick-moving strikes. Shay managed a right to the side of the head that shock Nina’s legs and then she pounded her to the belly. Nina was being driven back into the ropes, but Nina rallied, she drove quick strikes straight into Shay’s face to stall the advance. Then Nina went to the body with ripping rights and lefts to the juggs and hooks into the midsection. Shay struck back, slamming her own blows into Nina’s body. Now they were toe to toe, glaring at each other in the eyes and keeping those arms moving in and out. Slowly Nina began to drive Shay back and then finished with a crackling left to the jaw that sent Shay spinning away just as the bell rang. It was a hard-fought round, but Nina had pulled it out late to win it close.

R6: Shay with a quick strike left to the chin of Nina Dobrev as the new round opens. Nina teetering back and Shay lunges after her trying to land the knockdown punch. Nina proves tricky on her feet, giving Shay the slip and getting set up as Shay comes at her again. Shay lunging forward, eager nail the elusive Nina, but Nina turns her head to dodge at incoking right, while sending a right of her own. BAM! Nina Dobrev lands a textbook power right to the jaw AND DOWN GOES SHAY MITCHELL. The impact of the punch swivel’s Shay’s head and her whole body turns, but her legs become entangle sending her crashing to the canvas. Shay sprawled on her face, gets to all fours as Nina reaches the neutral corner and referee starts to count. Shay shaking her head, then gathers her senses and forces herself to stand. Referee seems doubtful about Shay’s look, but Shay loudly insisting she can go on. Referee waves Nina back in and Nina swoops in hard and fast. Shay trying to cover up but she jolting by hard blows into her sides that propel her towards the ropes. Shay struggling to escape, slides along the ropes, but Nina cuts her off and starts smashing her head from side to side. ABD THE REF JUMPS IN! Official pushes his way between Shay and Nina to cradle a rubbery-legged Shay to safety. Moments later Nina’s arm is formally raised in victory

THE WINNER NINA DOBREV DEFEATS SHAY MITCHELL TKO6!

After: Nina gleefully as she accepts the hugs and kisses of her LCA sisters Minka Kelly and Nicole Scherzinger. Meanwhile Shay is being revived on her stool under the watchful eye of trainer Nia Peeples and communications director Autumn Reeser. Nina sees Shay looking better so she immediately crosses the ring, shoves Nia and Autumn aside to haul Shay to her feet. Nia and Autumn try to intervene but are seized from behind by Nicole and Minka. Nina shoves a hand mike into Shay’s face.

“I want everyone here to hear you call me the ‘Bulgarian Blockbuster’!” Nina orders and yanks back on Shay’s braid to emphasize her demand.

“I—I---“ Shay splutters, but now she has Nina’s knees being driven into her crotch. “OWWW!!! ALL RIGHT YOU AWFUKL BYTCH! YOU ARE THE ‘BULGARIAN BLOCKBUSTER!’ NOW LEMME GO!”

“Of course,” Nina says releasing her grip on Shay’s braid, but then bringing her knee up hard into Shay’s crotch. Shay gives a gurgling sound and sinks down holding her afflicted womanhood.

Meanwhile Nia and Autumn are slammed together by Minka and Nicole Then the three of them strut away as Troian Bellisario and Melissa Benoit belated rush out from back stage to assist their comrades.

Lively contest between two FCBA veterans. Both scored knockdowns, but Nina got two of them. Shay mad it back up after the second in R6, but referee was probably unwise to allow fight to go on. Nina got the stoppage and a satisfying win over a member of a rival stable. Shay and the other Punchers not likely to forget the post-fight and we would not be surprised to see repercussions somewhere down the line. In the meantime, fans get to savor memories of a fine bantam contest.
