BEFORE: "Every once in a while, I like to pluck a girl from obscurity and put her through her paces!" Charlize breezes in prefight. "Anyone remember a little minx by the name of Cat Bell? Because of me, boxing got to know one of the best brunettes to ever lace 'em up. Same idea here: don't know much about this girl except that she's hot; give her an opportunity and maybe we'll strike oil again. It's good for boxing; good for Moonglow - and if I can get a couple of stiff rounds out of her - it'll be good for me too!"

Moon present at the press conferences, but press pushing-in on Theron: nobody giving Bloodgood the time of day except Fighting Ingenue magazine. "I thought press for Terminator was big," an eclipsed Moon says. "You don't know Big Media until you sign to fight Charlize Theron!"

During R1: Moon: hands low, out to either side - knees bent - torso crouching forward. She's springy - stalking forward, then darting back, looking to stroke Charlize wide, strapping blows off either foot. Theron clobbered upside the head in early going: she steps out, walks around - eyes narrowed in concentration as feels Bloodgood out.

R2: Similar action - Bloodgood stalking around, crouching - dipping torso side to side and pulling wide haymakers onto Theron. Charlize can leg away from this stuff, but countering it is another matter: blonde having difficulty hitting while not being hit. Several clanging engagement see Theron attempt to feed Bloodgood stiff, straight right hands down the pike; Moon swinging away, bashing Theron upside the head, knocking her off balance. CT accurate, placing her knuckles flat against Moon's face: Bloodgood's legs pass the test, as do Theron's in receipt.

R3: Charlize continues to circle, operating behind the jab - now she's looking to edge in, put weight on left leg, dip left shoulder and jerk jagged left uppercuts to the Bloodgood torso. Moon picked up tuff in her body, grimacing for the first time, backing up as Theron takes canvas. Charlize making the most of penetrations - digging at sternum with a short, shrugging pump of the left shoulder/arm - pec-powered punching getting Bloodgood hurt. All for naught as late the round, wild-swinging Bloodgood rings a sweeping right hand off Theron's temple, putting blonde wobbly-butt and stutter-stepping. Follow up wallops of lefts and rights crash to Theron's face, beating her upright and blinking: swinging right hand to chin sends her backpedalling crazy, then scooting to her rear at ropes. Theron in shock - arms looped through ropes at her back, lips parted, eyes blinking in stupor: Bloodgood erases a finely-crafted Theron third with simple brutality.

R4: Charlize still woozy: Bloodgood's upon her. Moon reaching in, showing brawn: she bodies Charlize to ropes, ragdolling magnificent blonde, stacking her up. Swinging beatdown to ribs administered - Moon leaning forward, hoisting leather around, up and in - then palming Charlize' shoulders as blonde droops forward. Thumping work swept across CT's perky jugs and pecs: Moon reaching back behind her, twisting, and pulling heavy, heavy shellack onto CT's chest. Theron crying out, turning to either side, wrists crossed at throbbing jugs: Moon palming her girl roughly, pushing her square again to continue the pasting. Theron eventually able to pull Moon's head down and tie up behind her elbows: series of ref's breaks slows the round as Bloodgood gets mired in veteran blonde survival tactics. At the bell, Moon's seething, teeth bared, chest heaving: sight of CT reeling and unfocused has tall ingenue fighting to win!

R5: Moon continues to pressure Theron - Bloodgood loping - hands still very low as she generates looping torque with a twisting torso. Charlize adapting: she's been getting hit wide punches when she backs up - now she's dipping down-and-in, getting underneath the strokes. Moon overshooting: Theron able to counter short, biting left hooks to the Bloodgood ribcage - bouncing mitt off bone, then crouching down to avoid the next shot. Leads to hectic action - Moon swinging over top; Charlize dippin'-and-diggin' underneath...Theron's economy of leather starts to tell down the stretch. Bloodgood mouth-breathing, looking a little frazzled: Charlize able to straighten-up, come forward behind her jab, once again scoring to Moon's tired face.

R6: CT's made her reads: Moon a heavy-handed, but wide-swinging slugger: easy for Theron dip beneath, bob on the spot and put her uppercuts to good use against vulnerable Bloodgood ribs. Moon gasping, grimacing: she's finally bringing her elbows in, protecting a well-chewed body as Theron takes initiative by the midway point. CT jabbing Bloodgood into compliance, then dipping the left shoulder, popping hips-right to lick that cranking left hook off Bloodgood's left flank: Moon cringing, backing away as Theron imposes will. Bad beating along the ropes late as CT steps-with, paralleling Moon as she slides along ropes - lashing either hand to Bloodgood's shuddering flanks. Bell: pretty Moon blinking back tears, hugging her body. Theron looking things over, seems satisfied.

R7: Moon swinging wide again, but slower: aching ribs leeching away her vigour. Easy for CT to dip below, then come up punching: snapping, snatching left hooks again and again against Bloodgood's tortured ribcage and sternum. Moon sobbing aloud, backing away by the middle minute: Charlize brazen - walking to her girl with hands dangling, then stepping in wide with rubbery roundhouse rights to flank. Ropes: CT punching Moon like she's whipping her with a pair of firehoses...Bloodgood crying out into her mitts, elbows in tight as she cringes on the spot. Crippling barrage - Theron palming Moon's shoulders to stabilize her, then staying on the body: wide, whacking lefts and rights just a-strappin' the exotic beauty senseless. Bloodgood helpless, slouching against ropes, showing face-in-gloves as CT bounces hellish leather off either flank: ref moves in to save ingenue from her own too-stubborn legs. After: Theron strutting the ring, looking Moon over on the fly-by's: job well done in surviving Bloodgood's assaults, diagnosing her style, then applying hard work to solve the problem. "She's a good, tough opponent," Charlize breezes in postfight, white towel looped around bronzed neck. "Aggressive - you like to see that. She was hitting me pretty hard early: had to gentle her down with body shots, take a little fight out of her. Once I saw how hurt she was, I just stayed on her - nothing like whacking it out of a girl's body, boys - NOTHING!"
