Before: Cruz outraged as another defence against Ledoyen is mandated by HBO, in direct contravention of accepted boxing practice. Spaniard with surprisingly little clout at the network, with Virginie’s backer have the deep pockets—Cruz can’t protect herself against backroom shenanigans, double-dealing, big cigars, and fat cats. Blistering flurry of powerpunches all land on the button to put Ledoyen on all fours and SHE CAN”T BEAT THE COUNT! Penelope Cruz demolishes Virginie with a virtuoso explosion—KO3.

After: Ledoyen ragged in defeat, accepts her walk of shame like a beaten mule. Cruz all flashing eyes and bared teeth as she struggles to drag her sullen opponent aroundf the ring. Ledoyen too aggressive against a disciplined boxer—Cruz able to pick spots and hit targets with lanky limbed power while protecting herself well—she sends Virginie into denial with back to back conquering.
