Charlize Theron* vs. Peta Wilson (L) (Welterweight Title bout) 4-27-02

Charlize enters a prohibitive favorite based on recent results alone - Wilson deserves better, but all boxing has caught Theron fever and it's raging out of control. Peta being compared to Kelly Lynch - a fighter who was supposed to give Charlize hell and wound up the recipient of one of the worst beatings Theron's ever dished out, to which Peta can only respond, "I'm not Kelly Lynch."

Wilson reportedly sparring over 100 rounds for this fight against Rachel Hunter for power, Claudia Black (Farscape, Pitch Dark, or Pitch Black the movie) mimicking Charlize in the ring, and a host of other Aussie boxers. "Charlize fights for herself," sniffs Wilson, "I've got a whole country behind me and I'm not going to let them down." Charlize in cream string bikini, Peta in white bra style athletic bikini - stare down goes nose to nose; Wilson looks edgy, Charlize smirking at the lame attempt to intimidate her.

Round 1: Charlize starts her familiar ramble to the left - Peta jumps all over her with a gambling right hand, then a running left as Theron is rocked off balance and stampeded to the ropes. Wilson brawny early, wrapping up Theron's right arm, then beating belly and BASHING BOTH BREASTS with pumping rights! Charlize under siege early; grimacing as she feels the Aussie's brute strength. Middle minute: Charlize frees her right mitt and starts slugging back - FEROCIOUS two way punching as Theron slugs her way off the ropes - girls just laying in cheek to cheek and HAMMERING away with lathering gusto. Pendulum swings back as Peta redoubles her effort, CURLING RIGHTS AND LEFTS UP INTO CHARLIZE' PRECIOUS SACKS, driving the champ back to the ropes. Theron suffering in the final moments as a big strong welter PUNISHES HER CHEST WITH BOTH FISTS - pushing Theron back by her shoulders to keep her pinned and taking even after the bell. Peta back to her corner with her right fist in the air - crowd lifting the roof with the slam-bang action.

Round 2: Charlize leans into a clean right hand on the jaw but Peta unfazed comes back a crashing right on the temple and THERON IS HURT! Charlize wobbly butt and Peta gathers her up under the arms, hoisting Theron almost off her feet and jams the champ back into the turnbuckles. Rough, rough treatment from Peta as she forearms Charlize neck back, then POUNDS HER BREASTS and ribs. Peta clocks Theron's jaw a savage, swinging hook, then buries her right mitt in Charlize' belly. Theron swoon, clutching and reaching pathetically for Peta's shoulders - but Wilson's not having it! Peta's shelling Charlize' torso, PANCAKING HER PERKY TITS, rattling her ravaged ribs - Theron has no choice but to slug or be destroyed! Charlize fights her way off the turnbuckles! Hammer and tongs, no boxing, just two caged animals fighting for survival. Chins are tagged, stomachs are gutted until PETA TURNS THE TIDE! Punch for punch, Peta Wilson is ruining Charlize Theron! Charlize' legs quiver every time Peta swivels her head with a right hand - Theron can't stand her ground as she's beaten back into the corner. PETA POURS IT ON! Charlize breaking down - eyes drifting - hands weak at Peta's shoulders as the Aussie pounds her face over top the champ's outstretched arms. Theron's legs give way as she sits on the bottom turnbuckle, mindlessly palming Peta's hips as she SLAMS AWAY! Punches raining down on Theron's slumbering face and THE REF JUMPS IN! Peta pulled off as Charlize slumps to her haunches, her right hand reflexively massaging her chest as she trembles in shock. TKO2 for the winner and NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION: Peta Wilson!

Tears of elation from Peta as her long, hard struggle pays off in one of boxing's golden moments of the year. Charlize Theron absolutely stampeded out of the ring in this fight, forced to trade, unable to fight her fight - she simply couldn't handle the beef tonight as Peta successfully imposed her will from the outset. Crowd that had been cheering for Theron now turns on her like a pack of dogs, chanting "WALK! WALK! WALK!" Peta with the belts over her shoulder steps in front of Charlize on her stool, staring down at the devastated ex-champion, smiles and shakes her head in a dismissive, "No." Reading her lips from the crowd, you can plainly see, "She's not worth it." Peta raises the belts on high and takes a victory strut all by herself as a shaken Theron is helped from the ring.
