Before:

Top tier bantamweight action sees Elizabeth Olsen taking on Kaya Scodelario. The two have met twice before, with Kaya taking both fights, and the Girls Friday girl is focused on maintaining the stable’s winning record against premier fighters like Taylor Swift. Tonight’s fight may very well push one girl into the title picture, as they have both been at the top of their game and opportunities against other elite fighters are rare.

“Lizzie is a good fighter.” Kaya starts, “But she’s not in my league. There’s a reason why she hasn’t won the bantamweight title, and I’m going to prove she’s not good enough again tonight.”

Elizabeth stares back, “I may not have been in your league before, but I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m going to prove that I am here to stay, regardless of my prior fights.”

The crowd buzzes as Girls Friday versus Fates has had some bitterly contested fights, and the crowd hopes to add another one tonight. Olsen is the first girl to make her way to the ring, wearing a red bikini with black gloves, her hair in a bun for the fight. Shortly later, Scodelario follows suit, the younger fighter wearing a green bikini with yellow gloves. The two girls receive their final instructions from the ref, grudgingly touch gloves, and off we go for ten rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Kaya has a slight reach advantage and she starts using her jab, but Lizzie has seen this before and quickly slips backwards, getting out of Kaya’s range. Scodelario steps forward and Olsen strikes, feinting left before connecting with a right straight into the Brit’s mouth. Kaya swings with a counter, but Lizzie neatly avoids the blow and follows up into the younger girl’s ribs. Scodelario lets out a groan as Olsen buries a left into her midriff, and she’s forced to clinch with Olsen. The referee separates the two girls and lets the fight continue. Lizzie clearly the aggressor out of the break, staying away from Kaya’s jabs while clearly tagging her body with counters. Olsen closes the distance and drills a right into Scodelario’s chest as time winds down, but the younger actress finds an answer, getting a pair of shots into Olsen’s ribs before the bell. Still, it’s Olsen’s round on points, wide.

Round 2:
Olsen looks to pick up where she left off, hitting Scodelario’s body when the Brit presents the opportunity. Lizzie finds a left into Kaya’s midriff and lines up a right follow-up, but Kaya pops a right into Liz’s ribs before she connects immediately after with a left to the Avenger’s torso. Olsen fires off a right that sails past Scodelario and the Brit takes advantage of the opportunity, hitting the American in her mouth. Elizabeth gets her gloves up just in time to stop the follow-up blow, but that doesn’t prevent her from getting blasted to her body and into the ropes. Olsen is quick on the clinch, forcing a break, and she makes sure to stay away from Kaya for the rest of the round as the Brit becomes the aggressor. Kaya takes the round on points, wide.

Round 3:
Scodelario hitting her stride as she peppers Olsen with rights and lefts, keeping the older actress on her heels. Lizzie keeps her guard up and strong, finding the counterpunches whenever she can, but Kaya still works the American girl into the ropes. Unlike last time, Kaya is ready for the quick clinch and drives a right across Lizzie’s mouth, knocking Olsen back into the ropes. Lizzie gets the clinch on her second try, forcing the break from the ref, and when the action resumes, Olsen is able to keep her distance from Scodelario. Kaya jabs out with two rights, but Elizabeth avoids them both and comes back with a right of her own that catches Kaya in her chin. Scodelario didn’t become champion by not being able to take a hit, and she stays up, blocking Olsen’s follow ups. The bell rings and both girls return to their corners, with Kaya taking the round again on points.

Round 4:
The two girls are settling into the fight as they emerge from their respective corners. The two start circling, but the tide flows back and forth for the first minute as they alternate jabbing and countering, neither getting an advantage until Lizzie feints with a left and drills Kaya with a right, knocking the Brit backwards. Scodelario plants her feet in the sand and fires back at Olsen, hitting her in the ribs, but Olsen finds the follow up to her foe’s chin again, sending Kaya backwards. Scodelario avoids getting cornered in the ropes, but the British girl has her hands full as she takes repeated strikes from her American counterpart. Olsen keeping up the pressure, landing body shots with consistency but never is able to connect with a big blow. The bell rings and the two girls head back to their corners, with Olsen taking the fourth to even up the fight on points.

Round 5:
Olsen hitting her groove as she dips and ducks to start the fifth, deftly evading Scodelario’s blows. Lizzie ducks under a right then crushes a right of her own into Kaya’s ribs, then connects with a left into her foe’s body. Kaya drops back out of Elizabeth’s range, and the Fates girl advances, striking out with a right that her Girls Friday opponent evades – and Kaya slams a right just under Elizabeth’s eye! Lizzie is rocked and before she can respond, Kaya smashes three straight blows into her chin and down goes Liz! Kaya gets the first knockdown of the fight, and Elizabeth rolls around on the sand as the referee counts. Olsen finds the ropes and grabs a hold with her right glove as the ref hits five, and the Avenger pulls herself up at the count of eight. The ref waves Scodelario back in, and the British girl gets drilled by a right from the American. Olsen may have gone down but she won’t go down without a fight, and the Fates girl stays up and trades back with her Girls Friday counterpart to the bell. Kaya gets the first knockdown of the fight in the fifth, and takes it on points, wide.

Round 6:
The fight enters its back half as Kaya looks to press her advantage from the previous round. Scodelario lands a right to Olsen’s ribs to start the round, drawing a grimace out of the older fighter. Kaya follows up with a right that bounces off of Elizabeth’s gloves, and the Avenger takes the opportunity to fire back, drilling Kaya in her midriff from close range. The two girls briefly scrap, firing whatever free hand they have into the other’s body before they end up clinching and the referee has to separate the two. After the two are pulled apart, the fight resumes, with both girls trading evenly with the other. Olsen doesn’t appear fazed by the knockdown from the prior round as she doesn’t back off from Scodelario, and the two girls seem to still have plenty of energy by the bell. The judges rule the sixth round a draw.

Round 7:
The tide appears to have shifted as Olsen easily gets out of her corner while Scodelario isn’t as quick. Olsen feints left, then sticks Scodelario with a right to her ribs. Kaya goes high in response firing a right that just passes by Elizabeth’s head as the American bobs to the left at the last second and drills a right across Kaya’s jaw and Scodelario is stunned! Kaya drops back with her guard up, but she gives up her body and Elizabeth hammers rights and lefts into the Brit’s torso. Kaya stays up, but she’s groaning with each strike until she gasps as Lizzie buries a right into her solar plexus. Kaya’s guard opens up and that’s all Liz needs to drill her foe with a left hook into an uppercut that drops her to the sand. Olsen to the neutral corner as Scodelario struggles on the sand, but she can’t beat the ref’s count! Your winner by KO7, Elizabeth Olsen!

After:
Elizabeth Olsen picks up another big win against top bantamweight competition and gets herself on the board against Kaya Scodelario. The Fates girl smiles and waves to the crowd, breathing heavily after the fight but a look of relief creeps across her face. The Avenger waits until Kaya is up on her stool before going over and embracing her foe. While Girls Friday and Fates lightweights have their rivalries and hard feelings, the bantamweights have not reached the same level of disdain for the other side.

“Kaya is a tough fighter,” Elizabeth tells the press, “but tonight, I came out on top. She may have beaten me twice, but not three times without me answering. She thinks I can’t win the title. I am going to prove her wrong.”

Scodelario comes in a bit later, and keeps her comments brief, “She may have beaten me today, but I’m still up two fights to one. I will make it three the next time we meet.”
