Intro:
Two young British starlets doing battle here on Blackpool's legendary beach, thankfully the infamous British weather seems to be holding up nicely as the sun is out, soon enough Maisie Williams and the unbeaten Florence Pugh will be fighting it here.

Going into this clash Maisie is struggling for a win in her last two fights, so it might not be that smart going after someone who has taken the FCBA by storm since debuting earlier this year, Florence has torn through the competition, even beating the likes of former BBU flyweight champion Michelle Keegan recently.

Before the clash both took to social media to talk about the fight, with Florence the first to post as she said "oh my god! I just heard that my manager has me fighting Maisie Williams, I loved Game of Thrones so much Maisie, though I will save the talk of that till after I beat you up, then I hope you'll spill all the backstage secrets 😉" showing her playful side that has won her many fans over this past year.

Maisie replied "well I loved Black Widow Florence, been to see it twice at the cinema, so I think you owe me if Scarlett is anything to go by 😂, seriously can't wait to trade leather and maybe a few drinks afterwards, just hope I don't knock you out too badly 😉" showing her spirits don't seem to have been dampened too much.

Fighting time, the ring posts have been set up directly into the sand itself, with two special VIP guests sitting at ringside in deck chairs nearest the ring, while all the crowd can watch from behind metal fences, Girls Friday assistant manager Melanie Sykes, along with manager of League of Mighty Women Sharon Horgan are getting a front row seat, plenty of betting on whose fighter will win going on at ringside between the two frenemies.

First to walk onto the beach is Maisie with her coach Ming-Na Wen beside her, Maisie gives Melanie a high five before she steps through the ropes into the ring, she is wearing a black one piece swimsuit with red gloves, her hair tied into a ponytail as she gets serious while warming up.

Here comes Florence as she bangs her white gloves together that matches her one piece swimsuit, hair also tied into a ponytail as she has coach Gillian Anderson beside her, Florence blows Sharon a quick kiss before she gets into the ring, nodding over at Maisie then she takes a breath to focus.

The fun and games over it seems as both women head to the middle of the ring, bouncing on their toes as they eye each other up, getting their first really good look at their opponent, they embrace when told to touch gloves to show there is no ill will here, then jog to their corners as the crowd is whistling and cheering, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
At the bell they step out to the center of the ring, Florence kicking off the round the stronger with reach advantage, drilling the punches into the top of Maisie's head, with the smaller fighter able to dig in to the body of Florence when she starts to dip down more to try to find a way in closer.

After the opening thirty seconds, Florence misses with a jab then a straight as Maisie dances out of danger, the Game of Thrones star landing a counter left across the cheek of her opponent, then rifling in two short uppercuts to the body as Williams gets in closer to work, focusing on chopping down the taller fighter with body shots.

Getting nudged back by Florence, Maisie takes two cross punches to her face, making her back off as Florence grabs back some control of the action, stepping forwards behind straight punches, she misses through with a left cross as Maisie slips under it, an overhand right instead hits Pugh across her beautiful face.

As the time passes by in the round, Maisie is finding more openings to exploit, banging in her punches from close range after dodging some punches, the ones that are landing mostly graze her head as Florence looks a little puzzled how to slow down the smaller fighter.

The round ends with Maisie looking in great shape tonight, Melanie at ringside certainly is happy judging by her grin, Florence though doesn't look too worried as she sits down, chatting to Gillan on what she needs to improve on, nodding along as she listens intently.

Round 2:
Starting off with more jabbing drills, Florence is switching up her targets now to give Maisie a bit more of a headache, with Maisie having to move more side to side, kicking up more sand as she looks for a way inside, getting clipped across her face for her troubles.

Maisie feints with a left before dipping under a left cross, banging in two short right hooks to the body, when she tries to move back out to a safe distance, Florence catches her across the top of her head with a right cross, showing Maisie isn't going to have such an easily time moving in and out with the hand speed of Pugh.

Drilling in a double jab to the face of Williams, Florence is able to take the center for herself, giving Maisie even less room to work with under half the round to go, Maisie covers up more as Florence has found another gear, beating her opponent around her flanks with short hooks, till Maisie can clinch up.

Broken apart so they can continue, Maisie drills in three short punches to the body when she dodges a left cross, Florence maybe getting a little lax on that punch, as Maisie now gives her a nudge to press her towards the ropes, final moments in the round seeing both banging away as Maisie opens up now to try to gain some traction.

At the bell both turn to their corners looking determined, Sharon stands yelling "that's my girl!" After a strong round for Florence, Melanie staring daggers at Sharon, with Maisie tapping her gloves together as she sits on her stool, looking amped up for this fight.

Round 3:
Bouncing on her toes out her corner, Maisie is more quicker to close the distance, thrusting her punches into any gaps she finds, getting clipped across her face as there is marks forming on her cheeks, she isn't hiding from Florence though as she looks to get back on the winning track.

Florence roughing Maisie up a little with a few shoves before landing several two to three punch combos into her face, trying to dissuade her opponent from getting in closer, Maisie bangs her gloves together to show her frustration as the opening minute goes by.

A feint from Maisie does the trick as she moves out the way of a straight, then lands a counter uppercut that knocks Florence back a step, a five punch flurry then comes the Black Widow stars way as Florence covers up to protect herself, several punches find a home to drive her backwards.

Now it's Florence needing to get used to the ropes behind her, Maisie mixing up her targets, banging in several good body shots to get groans from Florence, who is throwing back with some menace, problem is she is missing more then she lands as she is swinging more then aiming.

This time as the bell rings Melanie is yelling "that's it Maisie!" Who shakes her head with a smile, Florence tapping herself across her cheek as she knows she lost focus there, Gillian telling her she has got this as they fist bump before Florence stands for the next round.

Round 4:
Things are more frantic as both want to impose their will on this fight, leading to some scruffy action as Maisie nearly headbutts Florence getting in closer, there's an apology from Maisie but that goes by the wayside seconds later when the hooks start coming in close.

A left hook catches Maisie across her face before a straight knocks her head back, Florence taking control of the action at the end of the opening minute, drilling back the smaller woman towards the ropes, forcing Williams to dip down to hold onto Pugh.

Once they are broken up Maisie is able to dodge a straight to pound in an uppercut to the body, a clipping left across the chin of her opponent follows, showing she is going to dig in to beat Florence, both letting their hands go in close as the crowd are roaring.

A left cross followed by an uppercut knocks Maisie onto her heels, a one-two follows through the mitts of Williams to knock her head back, driving back the younger fighter towards the ropes, a left hook then turns Maisie's head as Florence turns up the heat on her.

At the bell Florence is back on top of things, the crowd cheering for both women as they walk to their corners, getting cleaned up by their coaches, advice being doled out as they know this is a close fight, their managers sitting arms folded as they stare into the ring, not saying a word to each other right now.

Round 5:
Digging punches through the others mitts, Florence moves back when Maisie swings in an uppercut, with a counter left smacking Maisie near her temple, rocking Maisie to the side as she stumbles, Maisie trying to get her gloves up as a double jab followed by a straight smacks into her face.

Maisie manages to drill a right into the abs of Florence, another left hook catches Maisie on the side of her head, AN UPPERCUT THEN KNOCKS BACK MAISIE'S HEAD BEFORE SHE FALLS ONTO HER BACKSIDE! SHARON ROARS "YES!" AS SHE STANDS CHEERING HER FIGHTER!

Blinking as she sits on her bum, Maisie trying to clear her head, 1...2....3... Turning to all fours, Maisie grabs onto the bottom rope in front of her, 4...5...6.. Then grabs the middle rope as she pulls herself to her knees, 7....8.. Beating the count but looking a little shaky on her feet, fists up as she hasn't quit yet.

Referee let's Maisie fight on, Florence doesn't seem in the mood to let her off so easily, a straight smacks right through Maisie's gloves to knock her head back, a left cross catches Williams flush to send her head to the side as Maisie is struggling to defend herself.

An uppercut catches Maisie flush to send her reeling onto the ropes, several hooks fly in as Maisie's guard is being knocked aside, A LEFT HOOK ROCKS MAISIE, THE REFEREE IS WATCHING CLOSELY AS MAISIE IS BEING BEATEN, THE TOWEL COMES IN FROM THE GIRLS FRIDAY CORNER AS MAISIE ISN'T ABLE TO PROTECT HERSELF!

Winner Florence Pugh TKO Round 5

After:
Another strong showing by Florence as she gets the win, her first thought is to check on Maisie, putting her gloves on the shoulders of Maisie as she asks if she is OK, Maisie can only nod as she doesn't seem able to say much right now, Ming-Na coming over to help Maisie to her corner.

The winner once back in her corner gets a pat on her shoulder from Sharon, who grinds over at her counterpart in the opposite corner, Melanie staring hard back at her before nodding with a smile, Florence saying "I can't wait to fight again" getting told off Sharon she'll have another fight ready for her soon.

Across the ring Maisie is sitting on her stool, Melanie telling her "you fought well, just a few mistakes is all the difference right now, you will become a great fighter" Maisie looking down, annoyed at herself for losing again, Ming-Na wipes her down with Mel's help, something has to change soon for Maisie before she loses all confidence.

Once both fighters are ready they step to the middle of the ring, where Florence her hand raised, Maisie applauds Florence before they embrace in a show of respect, Maisie leaves the ring so Florence can have the spotlight.

The winner goes on a lap of honour as the crowd cheer her on, she claps the crowd with a beaming smile, posing for the cameras with her right arm flexed along with a wink, before she steps out the ring, Florence showing she is progression quickly, still maybe a few fights off the elite group but she is looking tough to beat.
