Bridget Regan versus Hilary Rhoda

(Written by Girls Friday/Results by Lookout!)

(Bazz Fight Club vs Girls Friday)

Intro:
Tonight Bridget Regan looks to get a win back on Hilary Rhoda, last year they fought with Hilary coming out on top with a sixth round knockout, can Bridget even the score or will Hilary keep her run of wins going into next year.

Bridget is 37 years old; she stands 5'8, her record stands at 30 wins, 27 coming by way of knockout, with 19 defeats and 1 draw, she is a former three time FCBA welterweight champion.

Hilary is 32 years old; she stands 5'11, her record stands at 29 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 9 defeats, she is a former FCBA welterweight champion.

Since the last time they fought in January 2018, Bridget has won six out of thirteen, while Hilary has won fourteen out of twenty, making Hilary the favourite in pundits eyes.

Of course when Bridget was asked about the fight in the Bazz gym, she told them "I can't wait to get back in the ring with Hilary, when we fought I wasn't in the best place with my confidence, now I have my killer instinct back"

Tossing a towel onto her shoulder as she is about to go train, Bridget continues "Hilary has been feeding on bums the past few months, I'm going to remind her what a good fighter is like to fight"

As she goes into the gym, Bridget punches a punch bag with her right fist, turning to the journalists to tell them "Hilary is going to be kissing canvas on Friday night"

Over to the Girls Friday gym, Hilary finishes up with her open workout for the press, her coach Melanie Sykes telling the press "that's how a champion works out!"

When Hilary is finished she goes shower and change into a black tracksuit and trainers to speak to the press, smiling warmly to them as she jogs over.

"Hey, as you've seen I am working my booty off for this fight, I feel like I am ready to claim that top spot in this division but I know I'll have to wait my turn with Amanda (Righetti) once again" says Hilary as she doesn't look too bothered by the wait she mentioned.

"Till then I have the task of maintaining my standing in the division, that means I need to keep kicking ass like Bridget's, keep my name in peoples minds when they think of the best" adds the model as she grins at the journalists.

When asked if she is overlooking Bridget, she replies "she is a legend of this division, she hasn't improved any since our last fight" then heads out the gym after waving to the coaching staff.

Fight night; Bridget heads out the curtains first with coach Angie Everhart behind her, she waves to the fans on the way down to the ring, looking relaxed as Angie tells her "make tonight the one where people remember why you are part of the elite in this division"

The actress is wearing a black sports bra with a white stripe down each side, matching trunks and shoes, white gloves, her hair is in a ponytail.

Stepping through the ropes into her corner, Bridget's demeanor gets deeply serious as she hits her corners top turnbuckle with a straight punch, turning to face the center of the ring as she shadow boxes to warm up.

Hilary is led out by Melanie and cut woman Eva Carneiro, Hilary bangs her gloves together as she looks excited to get into the ring, marching down the aisle to the ring.

She is wearing a white sports bra, white trunks with "Queenslayer" in black letters on her waistband, white shoes and gloves, while her hair is braided.

Climbing into the ring with a grin on her face, Hilary bounces on her toes at the center of the ring, staring at Bridget; who glares right back at her, Hilary heads to her corner to warm up for the fight.

Once they are ready; the fighters come to the center of the ring, squaring up to each other as Hilary jokes "this seems familiar" Bridget just hisses in reply.

They are told to touch gloves by the referee, thudding their gloves with their opponent's gloves, they jog back to their corners, ready to begin 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Both start off respecting the others talent, sticking behind their jab as they move around looking for gaps in the others guard.

Hilary's height allows her to land the more cleaner punches, looking the happier to keep the action at range then Bridget does.

Trying to up the pace of the fight, Bridget steps in with a straight to the body, she takes a left to the top of her head though as Hilary steps back to regain the gap between them.

The next time Regan tries to go to the body, Hilary steps to the left side and lands a left to the side of the smaller fighters head, just missing with a right as Bridget just about gets out the way.

In the final minute of the round, Hilary let's her hands go to push back Bridget to the outside of the ring, landing a double jab into the face of the actress to knock her head back.

Bridget mostly behind her gloves up till the bell rings to end the round, when she returns to her corner, she admits "I know I gave her too much respect, she'll feel my power next round"

Round 2:
Stepping out their corners with more fire behind their punches, they trade more as they move around the center of the ring with their eyes locked behind their gloves.

Ducking under a straight punch, Bridget fores in two hard body shots, then just misses with an uppercut as Hilary leans out the way of it.

But Bridget keeps in close, forcing Hilary to need to trade in tight, the smaller woman getting the better of the exchanges as she keeps nearly headbutting Rhoda.

The referee warning Regan to keep her head up, with Hilary starting to catch her more to the top of her head with her stiff jabs to force open some distance.

Slipping a right though allows Bridget to counter with a left to the side of the models head, an uppercut knocks back Hilary onto her heels.

The round closes with Hilary on the ropes like Bridget was the opening round, nodding as she returns to her corner, Hilary knows she is in for a real fight tonight.

Round 3:
Trading stinging jabs to start off the round, up on their toes as they step around each other, Hilary looks better when she can keep Bridget on the outside.

Problem is Bridget is finding different ways to sneak inside the reach of Hilary, for the most part she is testing those abs of the model, making her grunt out with each hit.

Hilary catches Bridget stepping in with a straight to the top of her head, landing a left/right cross as she begins to motor forwards.

The Bazz fighter comes back at Hilary with a straight to her mouth, leading to both standing toe to toe to the delight of their fans, hair flying around as their heads get turned and bodies worked over.

Stepping back to open up space, Hilary lands a crisp jab/straight punch to knock back the head of Regan, showing off her power and hand speed to back up Bridget around the outside of the ring with straight punches into her face.

At the bell both women turn back to their corners, when they sit on their stools, their eyes are locked in an intense stare, their coaches giving them advice but neither really seems to be listening.

Round 4:
Doubling up her jab more as she comes out, Hilary is wanting to enforce the range she wants, landing several stiff shots to the face of Bridget to keep her to the outside.

Looking to land a right into the face of Bridget, Hilary misses and eats an overhand left to her jaw, with the actress bashing in more punches to the cheeks of Rhoda to knock her backwards.

Nudging back Bridget; Hilary tries to fire back on her, she misses though with a left cross, Bridget dipping down and using her left shoulder to body up to Rhoda, firing in short sharp digs to the abs of the taller fighter.

Needing to pull down Bridget into a front headlock, the referee is quick to step in to break them apart, warning Hilary to keep it clean, she apologizes to the referee but not to Bridget.

Once they resume there are hard fought exchanges, both fighters cheeks are starting to redden up as they don't seem focused on their defence right now, leading to them getting hit too cleanly for their coaches liking.

The round comes to a close with the fighters just about stopping trading, Hilary asking "ready for more bytch?" Bridget replying "all night long c***" to a cheer from supporters.

Back in their corners they go, with their coaches quick to work on them and tell them not to be dumb, neither fighter happy as they can't seem to find that something extra to keep control of the fight so far.

Round 5:
Both tighten their guards up after the slugfest to end the last round, not that much though when they step in to trade a flurry of punches before backing up.

As Bridget lands a straight to the body of Hilary, she eats a jab onto her nose to make her back up, Hilary stepping after her as she knocks Bridget to the outside of the ring.

Where Hilary has some control over her opponent, landing crisp punches through and around the guard of Bridget to her head, causing a little blood to trickle from the nostrils of Regan.

Who won't be bullied so easily, slipping a straight punch to step in with a right across the cheek of Hilary, a follow up left to the ribs has the Girls Friday fighter taking a step back.

Trying to keep the pressure on Hilary only earns Bridget another right onto her nose, dropping her back a step herself, with a follow up jab/right cross allowing Hilary to regain the center of the ring.

Which Hilary clearly thinks is the most important thing to do, she is keeping Bridget on the outside better this round, though that doesn't mean she isn't getting tagged by the smart veteran.

At the bell Hilary raises her right fist into the air, maybe as much a statement to her opponent as it is for the judges, with Bridget staring daggers at her in reply.

Round 6:
Trying to enforce where she wants the fight again early on, Hilary slings more punches in bunches to sting the face of the backing up Bridget.

Before Hilary has Bridget near the ropes, the older fighter deflects a straight and lands an overhand right to turn the Sports Illustrated models head to the side.

Opening up on Hilary; Bridget bashes her back towards a corner, when Hilary tries to clinch up, Bridget puts her head under the chin of Rhoda to plug away to the body with short sharp hooks, making Hilary wince.

Shoving back Bridget so she can get off the ropes, Hilary has to box off the back foot, snapping the head back of Regan with a double jab to the forehead.

While Hilary does get in some good shots to keep Bridget back on the outside, as the round enters the final thirty seconds, Bridget ducks to dodge a left before landing an overhand right that looks worryingly easy to land.

A cut opens up on the left cheek of Hilary, giving her some claret like her rival, with the round coming to a close with Bridget waving her right fist in the face of her opponent before returning to her corner.

Sitting on their stools, they are both a picture of frustration, getting their wounds patched up, Hilary more so as she thought she was getting on the front foot again, Bridget though reminding her why she is a legend of the division.

Round 7:
They begin trading from the bell, Bridget dipping down to rifle two rights into the abs of Hilary, throwing an overhand left that glances the jaw of the leaning back Rhoda.

Maybe that's a warning for Hilary as Bridget is pushing forwards more aggressively, taking the center of the ring herself to push around the taller fighter.

Leaning out the way of a right cross, Hilary fires back a left hook to the side of Bridget's head, sweat flying off into the air as an uppercut then snaps the head of the Bazz fighter back.

Hilary now is the one pressing back Bridget across the ring, landing through the mitts of Regan to cause more blood to flow from the nostrils of Bridget to make her grimace.

Pulling Hilary into a clinch; Bridget looking relived to stop the attack, with both women taking a breather as the referee is needed to step in to break them apart.

The final moments of the round sees them going hammer and tongs, knowing that this is a tight round to call, the round comes to a close though with both women looking at the canvas as if looking for answers there.

Again their corner crews are busy cleaning up their fighters, while both are in great shape, their chests are rising up and down quicker as the pace of the fight is catching up to them.

Round 8:
Neither are rushing to fight it out, Bridget seems to be throwing more jabs while moving side to side to maybe find an angle to land her big right hand.

Hilary keeping her eyes focused hard on Bridget, stepping back when Bridget looks to throw her right hook or an uppercut, countering with a jab or straight aimed at the sore nose.

Ducking down to come inside, Bridget gets caught with an uppercut that knocks her head back, Hilary's eyes seem to light up as she snaps a jab into the bloody nose of Regan.

A spark seems to have been ignited for Rhoda, she is landing more freely as she is pumping punches into the face of Bridget, whose trying to fight back with her own hooks.

Bridget is getting out worked though as a right hook makes her stumble back a step, A LEFT HOOK TO THE TEMPLE OF BRIDGET SENDS HER DOWN TO HER BACK!

"F***ing come on!" Roars Hilary with relief clear in her voice, 1...2...3...4.. Bridget is blinking but is laying on her back with her right knee bend upwards, 5...6...7... Bridget turns her head to the right, 8...9...10 she can't beat the count!

Winner Hilary Rhoda KO Round 8

After:
Leaning against the turnbuckles in the corner she is standing in, Hilary just looks relieved that she stopped Bridget coming at her as her fans stand and chant her name.

With Bridget getting checked on by Angie, she is helped up sit up as she holds her head, looking like she wants to scream in anger at not being able to overcome Hilary in this tightly fought contest.

Looking at Bridget when she returns to her corner, Hilary gets her gloves off as she admits "f*** that bytch can fight, she certainly gave me a workout" with Taryn telling her "that's why she is one of the greats of the last decade"

A round of applause rings out as Bridget is helped up to her feet, she gives the fans a quick wave to say thanks, then helped back over to her corner to get cleaned up.

The fighters look to be enjoying getting worked on by their corner crews, taking breathers on their stools as they stare at each other.

Getting off their stools when they are ready, the fighters go to the center of the ring for the final result to be announced, Hilary puts out her fist to Bridget, who fist bumps her back with both showing the other respect.

The referee then lifts up the right hand of Hilary into the air, Bridget nods before she steps out the ring with Angie beside her, nobody can question her heart with another top class performance.

But tonight was Hilary's night, she leans over the ropes to blows kisses to each side of the ring, saying "thank you" to her fans.

She then leaves the ring with her corner team, getting a pat on the back by them, they chat about the stables New Years party, laughing as they joke about how long till Alessandra has a nap on the gyms sofa, high spirits as they head into 2020.
