Before: Fight a long time coming—both girls improving a great deal since their debuts—meeting decides who’s come farther. Jewel evolving in a different direction, loves to work inside, setting down on bowling bal right hands, while Spears likes to use the ring, open up angles with her legs and rubbery upperbody and exploit openings. Jewel in white sports top, light blue adidas terrycloth trunks, tight ponytail, Britney in pink tube top, matching aerobics bottoms.

During R1: All Britney as she circles, Jewel crouched, pivoting to stay square, guard high and tight. Spears lifting the left off her hip, steers Kilcher at will, falling into lashing right hands to the breasts, then swaying back outside before Jewel can answer. Nice potshotting, leaping in and out stuff from Britney—posts the shutout.

R2: Jewel better at cutting off the ring this round, gets her forehead on Britney’s chest and scuffs up Spears abs with banging one twos. Britney on the ropes, huddled in close with Kilcher, the girls trading clubbing little shits from either hand. Spears jerks a nice little right uppercut inside, but Kilcher’s got the leverage, investing heavily in body punches for later rounds.

R3: Britney with her hands low, supple upperbody snaking in and out as she swats and cuffs at jewel’s face with playful lefts and rights—a minute in, Britney loads up and bends into a snapping right hand, the fist bouncing hard off Jewel’s face, leaving Kilcher stunned for a second. Jewel walks through it however, proving the busier fighter the rest of the way as once again Spears allows a foe inside and the girls jostle shoulder to shoulder the rest of the way, Jewel earning a draw as her volume equals Britney’s power.

R4: Britney with a big banging shutout,. Really has Jewel hesitant with the slashing, in and out attacks. Britney very unpredictable with her fists, boloing a left uppercut onto Jewel’s teeth, or lunging in with a wide right hand to the breasts, fading away behind that jab from the hip. Jewel busting up over the left side of her face as Britney’s bombs are landing hard and often.

R5: A more conservative Britney Spears, works the jab from semi-orthodox guard, stepping left as Jewel bobs, trying to weave her way inside. Spears outworking Jewel on the outside, stepping back to pick Kilcher up with a curling little left hook whenever Jewel tries to close. Kilcher getting in some hooks of her own late in the round to avoid the shutout.

R6: Jewel uptempoing, forces Britney to a seat on the ropes with banging lefts and rights to the hips, and Kilcher has her best round, getting underneath Britney, heaving her back with a shoulder or a digging forehead into the clavicle and snapping at the youngster’s luscious waist. Spears laying inside, covering her face, soaking up damage on her belly, but doing a good job of blocking upstairs.

R7, 8,9: Back to back to back shutouts for Britney Spears as she steps up the plate and hands jewel a boxing lesson in these rounds. Britney just too elusive, too unorthodox, her sweeping in and out forays have jewel swinging desperately—Kilcher wide open for counters and Britney’s connect percentage skyrockets. Britney’s playful set up punches unnerve Jewel—a slapping, cupping left hand on the cheek normally followed by a vicious slashing right hand to the breasts or face as Britney changes up pace beautifully. Jewel broken down, beaten up progressively in these rounds as Spears piles up the points.

R10: Jewel needs the knockout and walks her girl to get it. Spears trying to leg her way out, but Kilcher forces her to fight, cutting off the ring, snatching a heavy left hook into Britney’s body and by the midway point, Spears is looking worried. Kilcher’s beefy hooks to the side have Britney lock-legged and leaning in, and Jewel’s fists begin to spank loudly against Brit’s ribs and jaw. Jewel rolling her combinations, turning her shoulders into thudding, short strokes, has Britney on her heels. Down the stretch, Spears looking groggy digs down, stepping back and walking Jewel into left and right uppercuts and suddenly it’s Kilcher looking woozy. Jewel stumbling forward, leaning in with her head, and Britney tees off, bending back into a cracking right uppercut, then pivoting to the right to turn jewel, walking her into another crunching uppercut. Jewel suddenly falters stumbling past Spears face first to the ropes, and Britney pounces, Jewel helpless, eyes glassy, fists at her chest, takes withering right hands across her mouth as Spears pounds out with a devastating series and ref jumps in only 3 punches too late. KO10 Britney Spears, leaving Jewel stunned and broken in the referee’s arms.

After: Spears turning back a gutsy charge as Jewel goes out on her shield rather than lose a decision. Spears getting it done club style, breaking down the more orthodox blonde with the trademark dance floor moves, and surprising power late gives the teen dream her most impressive win to date.
