MICHELLE WILLIAMS

CHLOE GRACE MORETZ

BEFORE:

Chloe’s living up to her potential more and more, with 2022 as Exhibit A. Following a strong close to last year, Moretz is four wins in her last five with the only loss to breakout star Cree Cicchino. With those results, the blonde’s earned the right to bash down the gate and the

#1 flyweight gatekeeper, something Cree was unable to do.

If Chloe’s finding a consistent top ten placement, putting Mishy on her back is a huge second step after Moretz’s impressive two-and-a-half year run. Perhaps the most impressive among the stretch was her LCA celebratory dismantling of a usually feisty Camilla Cabello in three. Placing a win against a Hall of Famer on top more than announces her arrival.

“Michelle and HISC get all this credit for turning Dove’s career around. Let’s not forget LCA and my own damn self. I’m the hottest comeback story in this business and I’m going to punctuate it by putting Michelle on her back. The dark secret is this woman relishes stopping the next generation from reaching their potential more than testing them. I’m blossoming and she’s dying on the vine. Tonight. I do a little pruning and convince Mishy it's time to retire altogether.”

Chloe sticking with what works, Moretz in a red bikini with black boots, pads and gloves. Dirty blonde locks in a ponytail.

What hasn’t been said about Michelle Williams?

Last year seemed the death knell of the blonde bulldog’s long, storied career, losing four of five. Though the win was against Nessa, a huge get, it could be fairly described as the beginning of the end for Michelle. Until the veteran survived a street fight of a gut wrencher against Ciccino to close 2021. Mishy survived and pounded out some’s ‘It Girl’ at the end of the year then did the same, though less happily, to her HISC’s own Dove Cameron before taking out the threatening Ana De Armas last time out.

Showing she’s got another chapter to write with three impressive wins in a row, Williams isn’t stepping back in class for a four-spot. Always willing to push herself along with her division, Chloe presents a huge challenge to dig deep one more time.

“All this time and I’ve never faced Chloe,” Michelle contemplates. “The girl is special. I made a push for HISC to grab her, but they were still nursing Mila along through the end of her Consortium run. No offense to Mila, but big mistake. LCA grabbed her and it’s all upside from there.”

“She’s got more class than Cree. Now she needs to find the violence Ciccino’s willing to bring. You put those two together and you have a Hall of Famer. Unfortunately for her, I’ve already got both. So she’s in for a tough night.”

Michelle’s never far from her zebra stripes when they’re working. Now past her bandeau days, Williams shows off her fit frame with a sports bra and boy-cut trunks in the black and white pattern with black gloves, white pads and boots. Her pixie cut platinum locks are wet.

R1: Never one to dance with her partner, Michelle moves to the middle, bouncing on the balls of her feet and waiting for Chloe to join her. Moretz doesn’t get paid by the hour and the two blondes are instantly engaged, bobbing and weaving as they introduce themselves, touching up protecting forearms and shoulders as the women get a feel for each other. Both connect with body shots. Neither giving any ground. Respect shown in each direction as these are comparative nibbles from a couple pair of the heavier hands in the division. Mishy eats a right that splits her guard. Her nose scrunches in discomfort, but it’s not enough a signal to throw caution to the wind, particularly when Michelle strikes back with a right cross catching temple. The dips and dodges continue with boot soles mostly planted. Chloe’s work rate is higher, but Mishy is connecting more often and the veteran takes a physical if not spellbinding first, close on the cards.

***Edited through this point***

R2: The combatants are flowing more freely at the start the second and Moretz increases her rate considerably, lathering Mishy constantly. Williams is professional in defense and lands a few counters, but she’s getting worked by the younger fighter as the round moves on. Chloe’s throwing and reaching her target regularly, bopping Michelle’s head back several times with jabs to the chin that leave Michelle static and struggling. CGM ups her game further, using her footwork to get Williams off stride, and Chloe torques a heavy right cross through to Mishy’s jaw. The blonde sticks a follow-up combination to the body as a staggered Williams tries to work out of trouble. Now Chloe’s having her way, Michelle a little panicky in her steps and breaking down on D. Moretz closes in dominance, Michelle’s only working response to grab Chloe, hold on and survive, Moretz taking the round wide.

R3: Chloe, all about keeping the momentum, is out early and chasing Williams, Mishy’s platinum bob bouncing around the ring as she gets on her rarely used bicycle, trying to throw off Chloe’s hard-won second round rhythm. Michelle’s been around forever and there’s a reason. The chase has Chloe missing her initial efforts each time she closes and Michelle makes her pay, taking tummy and rack, pounding her rival hard for coming in. Moretz’s face is pinching in pain from the punishment, Williams showing she can tweak her strategy when need be, instead of forcing her way through a rough stretch. Michelle plucks points selectively, avoiding any head-hunting, preferring to work body steadily, the bruises on Chloe accumulating. But Moretz finally times an opening perfectly and thumps an overhand right to Mishy’s cheek then follows with a left to her temple that has Williams frazzled at the bell. Chloe steals the third late, leaving Michelle to trudge back to her corner cursing her mistake.

R4: Williams continues to show her frustration off her stool, looking for immediate amends. The veteran is back to her usual ‘bull in a china shop’ approach, striding directly for Moretz. To her credit, Chloe seems to see the steel in Michelle’s eyes and makes Mishy come to her then ROCKS Michelle with a vicious combination. Michelle wobbles, her legs turning to jelly from not one but two nasty impacts and Chloe’s throwing any caution to the wind. The younger fighter bombards Williams with leather, striking with brutal body work that has Mishy groaning and turtling. Williams reaches for a clinch, but Moretz sinks a tight right into her foe’s ribs and has Mishy gurgling, hazel eyes welling. Michelle going into emergency mode, throwing out protective jabs, but there’s still a minute to go and Chloe’s sweeping them aside, then taking as much as jugg as she wants, sending in uppercuts that have Michelle’s zebra stripes and the contents within jumping. Down the stretch, Mishy’s hanging on, literally, wrapping her arms over Moretz’s shoulders, but soaking up the shots Chloe can manage to her foe’s sides. As the bell rings and Mishy clings, Chloe throws Michelle off, threatening to put her down before the ref steps between, saving CGM from a potential DQ.

R5: Michelle’s been through too many of these unfortunate starts to count. She realizes Chloe’s been clocking her, nearly at will, but’s a bit gassed when Moretz doesn’t rush to her corner to start number five. Mishy’s comfortable with the slower pace, working angles like her buddy Natalie, and finding the occasional opening to bring glove to her foe’s chin. Williams plays it tight for the first half, fishing for a big strike. But Chloe’s cagey, bobbing and weaving when Michelle seems close to finding a pattern. Moretz is connecting to tummy from range, allowing herself to get a breather while keeping Michelle uncomfortable with pokes and position. Mish brings it in the final minute, upping the ante, punches glancing off protective arms and gloves enough to find cheek and chin and grab the round from Chloe in a close one, a tactical breather Moretz seems pleased with heading back to her corner.

R6: The consolidation by Chloe seems to work to perfection as she’s back to her lively self, Mishy befuddled by the renewed energy from Moretz. We’re back to the first half of the fight with Chloe too much for a version of Williams who’s showing her age. Moretz consistently breaks through Michelle’s defense, stuffing a steady barrage into the lumping face of the Hall of Famer, Michelle unable to answer effectively. She’s trying to counter Chloe’s swagger and lathering leather, but it just isn’t happening. Every time Michelle tries to move, Chloe’s guessing right and cracking her to the jaw. Move right. In comes the left hook. And vice versa. It’s a winning pattern for a dominant two minutes until Mishy settles in a location and goes Alamo, offering a stationary last stand target that has to have Chloe’s heart aflutter. She loads a big right BUT MISHY BEATS HER with a left counter uppercut that PLOWS into Chloe’s chin, viciously snapping Moretz’s head back. There can’t be any ‘glass jaw’ complaints when CHLOE ENDS ON HER ASS from the ferocity of the blistering shot. She supports herself on her palms, staring up blankly at an only slightly less surprised Michelle.

The crowd is roaring as Michelle takes a split-second to acknowledge what she’s done and the satisfaction in it, then heads for a neutral corner as the ref takes up his count. Chloe’s piercing eyes register her location around ‘SIX’ and she waits until ‘EIGHT’ to shove herself up. The official checks her in and we’re back on, Mishy smelling blood in the water. Williams steps into a couple gut-wrenching body shots that have Chloe curling over in pain. She adds a ‘see ya soon’ left as the bell rings plastering the left temple of Moretz. Chloe staggers into her corner, grabbing the ropes to keep herself from taking a knee. With the knockdown, Mishy steals a Chloe round wide. She’s bouncing with adrenaline, skipping a trip to the stool to stare at Moretz, eyes laser focused.

R7: Michelle, seeing red out of the gate, heads for a tenderized CGM. Moretz is slow from her corner, wheeling to her right, hoping to recover some equilibrium. But Mishy’s not having it, tracking her down and going to work in a corner. The veteran peppers her target with both hands, chugging away and taking jugg hand over fist. Chloe’s defense drops to cover her gurls and her head is swiveled with a perfectly-timed right cross that buggywhips Chloe’s noggin. Moretz is stepping in fencepost holes along the ropes and Michelle leaps into a follow-up right that finishes the job, CHLOE CRASHING TO A SHOULDER AND HIP!

Michelle is moved aside so the official can start his second count on Moretz, the crowd in a frenzy. Chloe seems stuck on all fours, but at EIGHT, she’s up again, determined to survive.

The official waves Mishy back in. She doesn’t wait for the invitation to be engraved. With Chloe using the ropes for balance, Michelle unleashes like she has for more than two decades, battering Chloe into a whimpering shell until the younger fighter shows no response to Williams’ artillery and the ref jumps in between, waving off the fight, MICHELLE WILLIAMS WINNING VIA TKO 7!

AFTER: With the official under one arm and a Lioness trainer under the other, Chloe’s helped to her corner. Mishy spits out her guard and has her gloves cut free. She needs to make an example out of Chloe for the wide-eyed Dove in the audience, so the youngster will know what to do with Nessa.

Moretz barely gets ass to stool before Michelle’s ready to take her spoils, roughing up the bruised blonde, forcing Chloe to her feet and mounting the middle ropes on either side of the vanquished.

“This is how you do it, kiddo,” Michelle shouts to Dove in Row 1, tummying up on Chloe’s tear-streaked face, forcing lips to navel, lowering the air supply with the smother enough Moretz sinks to her haunches, arms leaden at her sides.

A glistening, grinning Mishy dismounts and leaves Chloe puddled at her feet.

“With Hudgens, you take even more, kid. You make sure she knows she’s been conquered by the best.”
