Intro:
A clash of former champions here with a hint of the old FCBA vs BBU rivalry attached, Hilary Rhoda and Doutzen are both coming off high profile defeats, which one can spring back in the right direction?

Last month Hilary lost to Karen Gillan in a minor upset to some, others looked at it as the continuing rise of the Hollywood star, while Doutzen lost her BBU welterweight title to Damaris Lewis, a gutting defeat for the two weight world champion as Damaris treated her with a lack of respect after the bell rung to end the fight, giving them both extra motivation tonight.

First up to be interviewed was Hilary at her gym, lifting dumbbells up in front of a mirror, Alicia Atout was on hand for the FCBA Network, once Hilary was done she took time to speak to the Canadian interviewer.

"Hey Alicia, look no offence but I am not interested in answering questions, I lost badly last month to someone I know I should beat, that's all I have to say about that" says Hilary with a stern look as Alicia simply nods to show she understands not to push her buttons.

Hilary takes a drink of water then continues "I am looking forwards right now, Doutzen I have seen has been tearing it up in the ring this year, hell she might be one of the best in the world today, that doesn't mean I am worried one bit by her though, Doutzen is strong and so am I, she can box as I can, she has nothing for me to worry about, so no sweat for me" looking a little more relaxed as her confidence starts to come through.

Putting her bottle of water on the ground so she can stretch her arms, the American beauty finishes by saying "once I knock out Doutzen it is back to smacking down fighter after fighter till I get back to the top, I am sick of getting knocked down, it is time I show my class" then she heads off to do more fitness work.

Meanwhile Doutzen is sparring with Elizabeth Debicki in the Lookout! Atlantic Boxing stables gym, she hugs the taller woman when they finish as both smile warmly to the other, Doutzen sits on the ring apron as she sees Alicia get told she can have a few minutes with her.

Taking a deep breath as Doutzen knows what is coming, the Dutch stunner tells Alicia "last month was a joke, Damaris is going to be a short term champion, with an ego like she has she'll destroy her own reign, I'll be there for her when that happens to laugh at her for what she did to me" clenching her fists.

The subject changes to this fight, with Doutzen telling Alicia "Hilary is good I'll admit, unlucky for her though I am probably more motivated then I've been in a while, I took my eyes off the ball last month, Hilary has my full focus" jumping off the apron as she taps Alicia on her shoulder with her right glove before heading off to speak to her coaches.

Fight night; out comes Hilary first with her coach Rebecca Romjin and Eva Carneiro beside her, she heads down the aisle banging her gloves together, a serious look on her face, Rebecca telling her "no mercy tonight" as they try to keep Hilary full focused tonight on the task.

She is wearing a black sports bra, black trunks with white trim, matching boots, black gloves with gold thumbs, while her hair is tied back into a braid to finish her look.

Climbing into the ring, Hilary jogs over to her corner, nodding to Rebecca as she goes through her warm up, Eva rubbing her shoulders when she stops to stare out the ring at her opponent.

With Kroes now marching down the aisle, giving the crowd a quick wave but her stare is firmly on the ring, her coach Nicole Ritchie is behind her as she looks in a serious mood too, after what happened to her at the hands of Damaris too, she isn't exactly in the mood to play nice herself.

The Dutch fighter steps in the ring wearing an orange sports bra, matching trunks with "Kroes" in gold on the waistband, orange shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail as she steps into the ring.

Tapping the turnbuckle with her right glove, going through punching drills as Nicole yells at her "f*** her up!" Showing the mood both women are in as Doutzen nods, shaking her arms as she steps past Ritchie to go to the center.

The fighters meet there with eyes firmly locked, neither says a word as their expressions are dark, the referee staying close as they can feel the tension, the coaches look uncomfortable around each other as Nicole clenches her fists looking ready to try to take down her bigger opposite number.

When they are told to touch gloves, the crack of leather echoes as neither holds back, keeping their gloves pressed into their opponent's a little longer then necessary as they scowl before returning to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
The difference in styles comes to the fore right away, Doutzen more the boxer of the two with her lightweight speed she brought up through the weights, bobbing and weaving as she moves on her toes, Hilary more upright as she comes after Doutzen.

The first forty seconds sees Doutzen land crisp punches as she darts in and out of range, getting a feel for the speed of Rhoda, not looking too impressed at first till she is clipped to the side of her head with a left cross as she steps forwards.

A straight then meets her to her left brow as she tries to slip inside this time, Hilary putting her punches together now as she works back the blonde to the outside of the ring, slamming her punches through the guard of Kroes to move her around near the ropes.

Doutzen now gets to see why Hilary is a former champion herself, missing with a right cross as Hilary sees it coming, a left smacks her across the cheek before a straight snaps back her head, allowing the brunette to reclaim the center.

The final moments of the round sees the fighters open up their elbows more with hooks, both hard hitters that sees them grit their gumshields when hit to not show any weakness to their opponent up till the bell rings to end the round, Hilary started slowly but came good towards the second part to maybe steal it.

Round 2:
Getting her jab going sooner as she comes out her corner, Hilary wants to pin down the Dutch stunner before she can get too mobile for her, forcing stiff jabbing exchanges between them as they move around the ring.

Doutzen still is able to land some good punches on the inside after dodging headhunting punches, giving the abs of Rhoda a little test as she moves around the outside of the ring, allowing Hilary to try to close her down.

But Kroes makes a naive mistake, not realising her ring position as Hilary spikes her on the nose with a straight right, Doutzen finds herself backed into a corner, forced to shield herself as Hilary switches up her punches to make it harder for her to defend herself.

Drilling some punches through the mitts of Doutzen to her face, Hilary forces a clinch from the blonde, she leans into her to make it uncomfortable as Nicole is gritting her teeth in the corner watching this play out.

As they resume Hilary looks firmly on top as Doutzen is more defensive now, when the round comes to an end, Hilary raises her right fist in the air to tell the world who came out on top this time.

Round 3:
Stepping out her corner with a more determined look, Doutzen gives Hilary a little surprise as they exchange jabs, quickly stepping in with an overhand right to the jaw of the American to turn her head to the side.

Working back Hilary towards the ropes as she shows the other side of her game that got her two different divisional titles, Doutzen roughing up Rhoda with her left forearm opening up space for her hard right to land.

Hilary swings back to land some meaty punches to the sides of Doutzen's body, she keeps finding herself muscled onto the ropes though, where Kroes tries to show her what real elite body work looks like.

Clinching with Doutzen, Hilary gets her own medicine back as Doutzen presses her back into the ropes, both women hissing as their tempers are starting to boil, referee needed to get them apart.

The jab of Hilary does a good job in the final moments to the juggernaut Doutzen ripping right through her, Hilary looks frustrated at the bell that she couldn't keep on top of things after a strong round, Doutzen on the other hand bounces on her toes in her corner to show she is not a pushover.

Round 4:
Sticking to being aggressive on the inside, Doutzen digs in several punches to the body of Hilary till she gets chuffed across the top of her head by two cross punches, making her step back out to range.

There's a bit jockeying for position as Doutzen tries to keep the pressure on, getting hit to the top of her head by straight punches, while she slips her way inside to back up Hilary in this back and forth.

An overhand left catches Rhoda on her cheek as Doutzen drives forwards, pressing back Hilary to the ropes with several sneaky punches landing under the boobs of the American to make her hiss while trying to shove back her opponent.

Keeping Hilary herded near the ropes, Doutzen is keeping her from being able to get any rhythm, smacking the cheeks of Hilary to give the brunette a little puffiness around them, needing to clinch up to the blonde to stop her.

The round comes to an end with Doutzen jogging to her corner to get a pat on the shoulder by Nicole, Hilary on the other hand banging her gloves together to try to calm herself down, Rebecca telling her to get back on top before she finds herself on her back.

Round 5:
Both throwing jabs as they move around the center, Doutzen getting clocked with more punches as she tries to move inside, Hilary trying to match the intensity of her opponent as they work away.

Doutzen lands a hard left hook to the body of Hilary, starting to motor forwards once again as she knocks back Hilary with a mixture of punches, opening a small cut under the right eye of Rhoda with a left cross.

But after Hilary clinches up with Doutzen and they are pushed apart, Hilary leans out the way of another predictable left cross, countering with an uppercut that pushes Kroes onto her heels, momentum turning as now the Lookout! Fighter finds herself in retreat mode.

Back and forth goes the action as sweat flies, Hilary opens a cut on the bridge of Doutzen's nose to give her something to think about, feet planted as they exchange clubbing blows.

The bell rings with both needing to be pushed apart by the referee, wanting to keep going as the crowd yell to let them fight, tempers cool as coaches help get them back to their corners to be patched up, stern looks exchanged by the fighters.

Round 6:
"Come on!" Doutzen yells at herself as she steps back out, neither will accept defeat to the other as they are throwing more combos, heads are getting knocked back as they fight around the ring, switching positions when one takes control.

Digging in two hooks to the body, Doutzen just misses with uppercut as Hilary just about gets her chin out the way, a left hook instead clubs the side of her head, a straight smacks into her nose as this is looking like it is going to be a tough round to call too.

The first half of the round goes by with nobody really taking a firm control, both have puffy looking cheeks now, Doutzen has blood running down the bridge of her nose, while the cut under Hilary's right eye is getting bigger.

Using her left shoulder to body Hilary into a corner, Doutzen lands two uppercuts to the body that has the brunette groaning, clinching up as she winces, Hilary grappling with Doutzen to try to get out the corner, finding it hard to do so as Kroes plants her feet.

Broken apart by the referee, Doutzen keeps on the front foot, keeping Hilary behind her guard more as the American is only able to land single punches out her guard, the Kroes fans buzzing to see her show her assertive side.

When the bell rings Doutzen raises her arms in the air to show Hilary whose on top, a few words are exchange as the referee has to yell at both to return to their corners as this is getting personal.

Round 7:
Jogging out their corners to fight, both have an exquisite jab that is finding the others cuts, some blood flies along with sweat when they are getting hit cleanly, Doutzen finding a little less success to the body as she gets clipped around her ears to ward her off.

Finally getting her timing right it seems, Hilary catches Doutzen coming in with an uppercut, back on her heels goes the blonde as she finds more punches smacking her square into her face, sending her reeling to the ropes.

After several more punches land square into her face, Doutzen has to clinch up to stop the assault, both digging short hooks into kidneys as the referee warns them to keep it clean while they step in to pry them apart.

It seems like that barrage has sapped a little confident from Doutzen, she is boxing more on the move again while trying to keep her guard tight, a feint by Hilary though allows the Sports Illustrated model to bang in a right hook to the jaw of Kroes, followed by a left to the chin.

Doutzen looks to be hurting now as she is being worked around the ring, she is still fighting but looks to be getting the worst of the exchanges, head being knocked back as Hilary opens up on her.

At the bell Doutzen wipes the blood from her nose, Nicole cleaning it up as she tried to latch up her fighter, looking a little worried by what has happened to Kroes, who still looks determined if a little shook up by what happened.

Round 8:
Coming out their corners, both women are glistening with their eyes locked as they both throw stiff punches, Doutzen looks to be taking them worse as her head goes back more sharply.

Missing with a left cross, Doutzen gets clocked with a jab/straight combo to the face, HILARY THEN STEPS IN WITH A RIGHT HOOK THAT TURNS DOUTZEN'S HEAD TO THE SIDE AS SHE GETS SENT DOWN TO HER RIGHT SIDE!

Heading to the neutral corner with a firm look towards Doutzen, Hilary thuds her gloves together as she watches her felled opponent, 1...2...3...4.. Who turns to all fours slowly, 5...6... Doutzen tries to push herself up, 7...8.. But her arms give way as she falls back down flat, 9....10 that's all for this fight!

Winner Hilary Rhoda KO Round 8

After:
Flexing her right arm as she leans against the turnbuckles, Hilary gets the win but was certainly made to work for it, Doutzen showing her class tonight even as she is needing help by Nicole.

The winner returning to her corner to get a fist bump from Rebecca and Eva, enjoying a drink as she sits on her stool smiling, Eva working on reducing the swelling around her cheeks as Rebecca praises her for sticking in to win.

Meanwhile Doutzen is slowly helped onto her stool, she holds her jaw as she will be feeling that hook for a while, she understandably looks disappointed after looking the better fighter through the middle portion of the fight, as they say though it is only the result that matters.

Nicole tries to console her fighter as they talk, a few tears running down the coaches face as she has seen her fighter suffer two bad losses in two months, Doutzen needing to tell her she'll be OK to calm Ritchie now.

As Doutzen is getting patched up, Hilary is standing up looking as proud as a peacock, left hand on her hip as the referee raises her right to make the result official, Doutzen watches with a hard look for the winner, showing she isn't done with Hilary it seems.

For now though Kroes has to retreat, she heads to the back as her fans in the front row tell her how unlucky she was, she thanks them with her beautiful smile, looking a little better then she did only moments before.

Hilary on the other hand is beaming as she stands in each corner blowing kisses to her fans, who are chanting her name as they show their love, Rebecca and Eva smiling as they applaud her for a great victory over another former champion.

Leaving the ring together, Hilary will hope that she has shaken off the disappointment of last month, looking forwards to moving back in the right direction she feels for her career.
