Camille Kostek versus Hilary Rhoda

Intro:

Two top welterweight contenders meet once again in the ring, Camille Kostek looks to get revenge on Hilary Rhoda, who won by referee stoppage when they fought back in February.

Camille is 27 years old; she stands 5'8, holding a record of 9 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 5 defeats.

Hilary is 32 years old; she stand 5'11, holding a record of 27 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 9 defeats, she is a former FCBA welterweight champion.

The two fighters were interviewed in the build up to the fight at the FCBA Network set, Lucy Liu interviewed first Camille on the hot seat first.

Asked how she feels after losing to her stablemate Amanda Righetti for the FCBA welterweight title, Camille nods before earnestly replying "it was a sore few days mentally as well as physically"

She perks up a little bit as she continues "after talking to Amanda and my manager, I know that if I was good enough to get one shot at the gold; I will get another"

Asked about this fight, Camille answers "this has been bugging me, see Hilary got lucky in our first fight and now I hear she thinks I am easy pickings, oh I can't wait to knock her out cold"

Hilary is next on the seat smiling as she shakes Lucy's hand, then is asked about how she is feeling this year is going with just one defeat so far.

Laughing Hilary replies "well that one defeat was to Righetti, so all in all I can't exactly complain can I? This has been more a rebuild year to be honest after a poor 2018 for me"

Asked about Camille and these easy pickings comments, Hilary looks annoyed as she answers "first off I never said that, people are claiming I did because her management brought it up first and people claim I said it during the PPV after party last month"

She continues "but to be clear while I respect the power of Camille, I know her flaws and the fact me and her aren't going to be the best of friends anytime soon, I am going to smash her to pieces so she remembers where she stands compared to me"

Fight night; out comes Hilary first with Melanie Sykes and Eva Carneiro beside her, she waves to the fans with a confident grin as she jogs down the aisle to the ring.

She is wearing a white sports bra with red stripes down the sides, matching trunks and shoes, red gloves, while her brunette hair is tied back into a ponytail.

Stepping through the ropes into her corner; Hilary blows a big kiss to the crowd, then goes through her warm up routine, as Melanie reminds her to not take her opponent lightly.

Out comes Camille now with Nadia Bjorlin, the two women smile as they head down the aisle, Camille throwing several punches as she goes.

She is wearing a blue sports bra, matching trunks with "Kostek" in white letters with a red border on the waistband, blue shoes and red gloves, her blonde hair is also tied into a ponytail.

Getting into the ring; Camille flexes for her cheering supporters, before she goes through her own warm up routine, while Nadia tells her to remind people why is belongs at this level.

The fighters soon enough square up at the center of the ring, exchanging insults as their eyes burn holes through their rivals.

They thud their gloves together when told to touch them up, jogging back to their corners, they are ready for the bell to ring to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:

At the bell Hilary is looking to use her extra reach straight away, moving around Camille firing out jabs aimed at the face of her opponent to keep her on the outside.

That is short lived as Camille is clearly keen to make this a fire fight, deflecting a jab to come in closer to land a left to the cheek of the taller fighter.

They begin trading hard shots; though Kostek looks more comfortable, landing the harder looking punches as she keeps moving forwards, planting her feet for extra power in her punches.

A right/left cross combo to the cheeks of Rhoda has her covering up, with the blonde stepping inside to switch up to the body to make Hilary groan out.

As the round is heading to a close; Hilary nudges back Camille, then fires a jab/straight to the brow of the younger fighter, before boxing on the back foot as her opponent tries to charge her again.

At the bell both glare before returning to their corners, Nadia though looks the more relaxed coach, simple reminding Camille to keep calm and bully back her rival.

Round 2:

This time Hilary looks more focused as she comes out to fight, throwing straight punches to the top of her opponent's head.

Camille rushing with her attacks more as she is trying to keep the pressure on the lanky brunette, who is picking her off to the face and brows.

Ducking under a right; Camille slips to the inside, where she hammers the sides of Hilary's body, till she finds herself being held and forced to wait for the referee to step in to break them apart.

Hilary using her experience to keep on the move to work, then when Camille gets inside to build up a head of steam, Hilary holds on to stop her opponent's momentum, to boos from the crowd as they don't like the tactics.

But as the round comes to a close, they are making Melanie smile as she tells Hilary to keep fighting smart, with Eva washing down Rhoda.

Round 3:

As with the previous rounds Hilary is keen to enforce her reach, drilling Camille to the face to keep her to the outside, while the Blondes temper seems to be rising.

Till carelessly Hilary has her left hand low, Camille catches her with a right hook that turns her head, Kostek then bashes back Hilary to her face, ending up with Hilary stuck on the ropes.

Keeping her guard tight, Hilary is trying to block all the onslaught that is coming her way, but she can't keep it all back as a right smacks her across the face.

Needing to pull Camille into a clinch; Hilary looks to her corner for answers, the referee breaks them apart, with the Girls Friday fighter moving away into space.

But she is soon back on the defensive after missing a right across the face of Camille, who instead counters with a right cruelly across the tits of Hilary, followed by an overhand left across the cheek.

When the round ends it is basically a shut out for Camille, who gets told off Nadia how great that was, especially compared to Hilary being reminded to keep her gloves high when defending.

Round 4:

It's Camille understandably looking to push the pace from the bell, taking the center of the ring after an early exchange, the power advantage is firmly in her fists.

A frustrated look crosses the face of the former champion, Camille switching up targets isn't helping Hilary one bit, with her guard needing to be more airtight.

Camille swings in two hooks to the body, making Hilary groan out and drag the younger fighter into another clinch, a firm Kostek chant rings out as the referee steps in once again.

As Camille looks to continue her dominance, she eats a straight onto her nose, soon followed by a left hook across her face after missing with a straight of her own.

Hilary gets some momentum going as she starts throwing more punches in bunches, the problem for her is the bell rings to end another dominant round for Camille.

Who looks relaxed of the two fighters, especially as she is less marked up of the two women, Nadia wiping her down as they discuss what to do next, both seem to be preparing for a chance at finishing this soon.

Round 5:

Coming out their corners; Hilary is more proactive, knowing she can't simply let herself be bulldozed by her stronger opponent, she is throwing more leather when on the move.

Camille is still getting inside to land some meaty punches, that knock sweat off the head and body of the older fighter, allowing her to press Hilary towards the ropes.

But Hilary is giving Camille little shoves, before moving away from the ropes, rifling a double jab squarely into the nose of her opponent.

It's clear Kostek isn't having as easy a time getting to the inside, finding herself being punished for more misses with punches into her cheeks to further redden them up.

After missing with a left hook; Camille eats a left cross to the face, Hilary backing her up with a jab/straight/left cross combo that backs Camille now up to the ropes.

As the bell rings to end the round, Hilary can be heard saying "yes" with a clench of her fists, relieved to have begun turning the tide back her way.

Round 6:

Confidence seems to be returning back towards Hilary, who is forcing Camille to fight more at range then the powerful Kostek wants right now.

A double jab on the nose of Camille makes her cry out, as a right hook soon crashes into the side of her head that looks to have rattled her.

Hilary now bashes back Camille into a corner, till the smaller fighter drags Hilary into a clinch now, again showing her experience, Hilary leans on Camille to make her expand energy holding her up.

Once they are broken apart, Camille does fire back with a double jab to the body, just missing with an uppercut that Hilary sidesteps her, then lands a straight to the cheek of the blonde.

Annoyance is written across Camille's face, she is having some success on getting in close to make Hilary groan out with her hard body shots, for the most part though she is getting hit too cleanly to the face for her corners liking.

When the round ends the fighters both know things are tight again, Camille now has some swelling near her eyes, while Hilary's body is reddening up, neither cooking exactly happy as they get worked on.

Round 7:

Coming out their corners; both women have eyes locked as they move around, Hilary looking relaxed again as she is more or less poking punches into the nose of her opponent.

Whose temper boils over as Camille swings a lunging right hook that finds air, only earning her a clubbing blow to her right ear in reply to make her wince.

An uppercut soon follows to the chin of Camille, who for the first time in the fight is really looking in danger, her guard is leaking punches as Hilary walks her down to the ropes.

Blood is running from the nostrils of Camille as she gets battered, A RIGHT HOOK TO THE TEMPLE TURNS CAMILLE'S LEGS TO JELLY, WITH ANOTHER FOLLOWING TO SEND KOSTEK TO HER SIDE!

The Rhoda fans find their voices as she heads to the neutral corner, 1...2...3.. While Camille is blinking on her side, 4...5...6.. She is trying to clear her head as she rolls to her back, 7....8... Nadia along with Camille's fans are urging her to stand, 9...10 but that's all for Kostek, she is done!

Winner Hilary Rhoda KO Round 7

After:

Hilary gets the win in by far her toughest test outside of the champion this year, she doesn't celebrate much, yelling her thanks to the crowd for their support before returning to her corner.

Meanwhile Camille is giving smelling salts to fully bring her around, she sits up holding her head as Nadia tells her "yeah you are gonna have one hell of a headache tonight"

With help from the referee as well as Nadia, Camille is helped up to her feet, where she gives the fans a quick wave, before Nadia decides the best place for her fighter is in the back.

So Camille leaves the ring with help from Nadia, the crowd applaud the blonde for a great effort tonight, she looked unstoppable during the middle rounds, the big question remains though can she win in the big fights when they come, she hasn't answered it with a yes yet.

In the Girls Friday corner; Hilary knows that Camille could have had her hand raised tonight, Melanie though lifts her spirits by telling her "I know things got tough but you showed why you are truly elite! You outsmarted her when it came to the biggest moment of the fight"

The referee lifts the hand of Hilary at the center of the ring, with Hilary posing for the cameras with her fists raised, Melanie standing beside her with her index finger raised to show that she believes Hilary is the true number one in the ring.

As they leave the ring, all their eyes will be on the welterweight title fight later that night, Hilary trying to force her way back into title contention, helped big time by this win.
