Minka Kelly vs Eliza Dushku

BEFORE: It's perhaps hard to imagine but these two veterans have met only once before so they have a lot of catching up to do. This being said, Eliza Dushku is a enshrined in Tractorpull's Hall of Fame already so she can keep herself busy in apartment foxy boxing which was the case earlier this month when she battled Keira Knightley for home video discount. Meanwhile Minka Kelly still has an outside chance of crossing the Hall of Fame line despite her ongoing slump during the past couple of years.

"Don't count me out just yet! Nina Dobrev is leading the Lioness bantamweight charge but no way I'm done with serious business!", Minka rejects some rumours she's destined for the Cougars Division when she finds herself on the wrong side of 40 next June. "Neah, that's for Nicole Scherzinger to deal with! I'm still pulling along against these Hall of Famers like Eliza. Man, I need to cross that name off my list tonight!"

Eliza doesn't enjoy a career swan song of sorts very much and admits her elite days more or less ended once she was released from HISC back in 2013. She's on a four-fight losing streak but vows to defeat Minka again having stopped the LA brunette back in 2012 already.

Minka Kelly wears a leopard print sports bra, black hotpants & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Eliza Dushku wears a red sports bra, matching hotpants & black gloves. Long dark brown hair wrapped in a bun at the back of her head. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:

Another notoriously slow start from Minka allows the Hall of Famer to settle right in with the quick jabbing blast but the core strenght is no longer there to even drop the southpaw brunette into checkdown mode even if the response is half-hearted and barely makes Dushku blink during the opening minute. The overall pace is slow as Eliza seems surprised by lack of response and is hesitant enough to pull the trigger while adjusting her range against the left-handed opponent. Minka relies on her defense almost too much but she's not facing a genuine rookie with everything to prove so one can excuse the sleepwalking display while Eliza isn't hell bent on full-attack either which results in a cagey single-punch exchange down the stretch.

Round 2:

Both women remain in slow-motion until Minka rips a left cross on the eye and makes Eliza groan in sudden pain. Ugh! That was a blink and you've missed it punch but there's more coming from the southpaw as she launches a steady jabbing dose that bounces straight off Eliza's pretty face and sends her reeling almost too easily here! Minka steps up from the front (right) leg and digs more juice as the Hall of Famer's guard collapses on the spot and there's not enough agility present to avoid getting thumped onto the ropes as the brunette Lioness makes her push count in numbers. She slams more head shots up the middle making the fellow veteran turn to the side before she belts her across the tummy and folds into loud spasms. Another uppercut try misses the target though and Eliza locks a lenghty clinch to see out the clock.

Round 3:

A little bit of urgency creeps into Eliza's jabbing as she tries to land one big haymaker along the way but Minka is just too accurate with her response and gradually outworks the Hall of Famer in a spirited tussle in the center of the ring. She nails the Medallion brunette with another quick belter and hoovers around the liver area too much which has Eliza bouncing on her toes but losing touch as Minka drives in the overhand pounce. She snaps Dushku's head back repeatedly and scythes her across the mouth for a good measure. Eliza has to bide some time in mid-distance but struggles to mount a comeback as she walks into a nasty left hook on the eye and wobbles back to the ropes where only another clinch prevents Kelly from making further progress.

Round 4:

Eliza just can't make the early jump as Minka's left hook keeps drilling her on the eye which results in visible swelling slowly developing around that area. Dushku is frustrated enough to bark in anger when she gets shafted onto her heels but Minka comes forward with more ultra-accurate jabs that force the Hall of Famer into a desperate escape. Minka fails to cash in on the prowl and swings wide off the mark almost losing her balance which finally allows Dushku to whack her up the middle. The steady connection on the jaw stuns the Lioness fighter and spins her onto the ropes for a change where Eliza lays it into the exposed midsection and has Minka gasping for air in visible discomfort. Maybe Eliza caught a lucky break there but she tries to make the most of it and the ref pulls her away at the bell with Kelly sending her a proper death stare in exchange.

Round 5:

Eliza finds early success upstairs and delivers more juice on the chin which suddenly makes Minka's high guard look very vulnerable. The southpaw brunette misfires over the top as Dushku becomes very bendy before she clatters into the Lioness jugs and bumps Kelly off; she adds a belting cross on the liver area and continues the pounce bashing the reeling foe up the middle. Minka soaks up a couple of vicious hits on the nose but then gets beaten for a left-on-left hook and Dushku tears a small gash under the right eye outright! Huh! Minka slumps on her heels and gets pounded butt-in-ropes come the two-minute mark with Dushku getting vocal in her jabbing pursuit that truly comes to the fore now. She buries the fellow brunette under a barrage of punches and the work rate alone does the trick as Minka stumbles to her corner at the bell looking more than puzzled over this treatment.

Round 6:

Both women hold nothing back anymore and jump into a slugging route that is destined to draw blood according to the some fans... head-hunting galore cuts Minka up below the right eye again but she tears that swelling around Eliza's right eye as well and clocks her with a thumping hook on the nose... Eliza loses her balance for a moment but still tries to push off her heels and... gets SMOKED with a brutal hook on the jaw that spins her to the side on the spot... cue in a loud whimper and the Hall of Famer just can't raise her arms fast enough for Minka to NAIL her on the jaw with another brutal cross... the gumshield flies out and DUSHKU CRASHES ONTO HER KNEES trying to catch some air in the process... Uh-oh!!! Feelin' a little dizzy here, folks! Eliza tries to lift one knee up but folds forward on her face and can only make it onto all fours when the count reaches eight... she's NOT gonna make it!!! Minka spits out her own gumshield and still gives the kneeling foe a lenghty death stare before the fight is called OFF!!! KO6 Minka Kelly!!!

AFTER: "Sure, I needed that one!", Minka gives a post-fight interview with an ice pack glued to her right eye, "Okay, so maybe Eliza isn't my closest friend out there but she can still knock people around. I have no idea what she's doing with that apartment boxing stuff? Maybe she can't hook onto a role anymore? Whatever! We're still selling tickets here in the FCBA and that's what counts the most! (...) Neah, I'm not gonna stick it to her. She's been embarrassed enough already! (laughs). But hey, better tell Tess Valmore I'm coming after that Hall of Fame spot! Not enough bendy southpaws are listed there for me NOT to take a shot! Wish me luck!"
