Vanessa Hudgens vs. Kristin Kreuk

"I can't believe," says 'Nessa with a smile, "That Krissy is back for MORE. Doesn't she realize? Doesn't she understand? I'm just BETTER. And, every time we fight, she's going to wind up at my FEET."

"I've got nothing to say," says a hard-eyed Kristin. "I'll do my talking IN the ring."

ROUND ONE:

Kreuk coming into this one 0-3 against 'Nessa, so, she's obviously determined to do something about that. Problem is, 'Nessa's on the move, jabbing, circling, stopping and popping, and, as Kristin has found out three times before, it's VERY difficult to beat Hudgens when she's able to move around the ring. Not that Kreuk isn't game. She's working the feet, trying to time the younger woman's forays and fire back at her, but, none of it works all that well. Instead, Hudgens is doing, pretty much, what she wants when she wants to do it. No antics this time, though. She's not faking bolos or sticking out the chin. No, Vanessa's just taking Krissy to the woodshed, peppering her with hard, accurate shot right to the bell. When it rings, Hudgens has the round wide and the lead 10-9.

ROUND TWO:

More 'Nessa. Krissy has no answers early as Hudgens continues to range around the ring jabbing, circling, pouncing forward for quick flurries, then circling away from danger before Kreuk has a chance to respond. It's dark times for the Canadian, who just can't seem to get much done. For the American's part, she's getting pretty much everything she wants, and she's clearly enjoying it, smiling as she lands the harder shots, the ones that force her rival to cover up. Late in the round, Kreuk lands her best punch of a fight, a solid right that gets Vanessa's attention. But, it's a one off. Hudgens immediately circles away and gets back to the business of moving and sticking and piling up points against an opponent who is, no doubt, getting a little frustrated. At the bell, it's Hudgens wide and up 20-18.

ROUND THREE:

'Nessa continuing to dominate. Kreuk can't get out of neutral, and that's because the American is working her fight plan to absolute perfection. Hudgens is here, there, everywhere...and also nowhere. Kreuk can't find her, because Hudgens is always in the right spot, where she can land when she's ready to punch, and where Krissy CAN'T land when she isn't. Kreuk is a veteran, though, so she doesn't get sloppy despite the building frustration. She's spending a LOT of time in the woodshed, and she's absolutely not enjoying it. She's becoming desperate to smack that recurring smile off 'Nessa's face, but she can't get it done. Final thirty seconds are the best 'Nessa's had all fight, combination after combination forcing Krissy to cover up. When the bell rings, it's Hudgens wide again and up 30-27.

ROUND FOUR:

Vanessa ranging, jabbing, stopping, popping...AND GETTING ROCKED! Out of NOWHERE, Kreuk times a right hand and 'Nessa is HURT! Hudgens rumblin', stumblin', fumblin' as Kreuk pours on the heavy fire and DOWN SHE GOES! Hudgens dropped to her back, all glassy-eyed as Kreuk heads to a neutral corner and the referee begins his count. Crown going NUTS as the American lies on her back watching the numbers get bigger. At seven, however, she sits up, and, at nine, she's on her feet, barely beating it. Referee gives her the mandatory and ON COMES KRISSY! Kreuk letting the hands go, getting out all the frustrations of the first three rounds, pummeling 'Nessa, forcing her to the ropes, and absolutely abusing her for the remainder of the stanza. Hudgens hangs on, however, but, when the bell rings, Kreuk's taken in 10-8 and cut Vanessa's lead to 38-37.

ROUND FIVE:

Dark, dark times for the American. She's lead legged and Krissy knows it. Canadian stepping two, digging hard shot into the American's body, then going upstairs to punish her to the head and face. 'Nessa jabbing back here and there, trying to manage all of this, but it's mostly Krissy rampant, thumping her rival to every legal inch of her body, forcing her to the ropes and then GOING RACK! Kreuk PUNISHING Hudgens to the bra cups, forcing her to pull in the elbows, then REEFING hard shot behind the guard and landing it to the head. Vanessa's taking a SERIOUS beating and the referee's looking in closely as the clock winds down. Hudgens does enough to keep him at bay, however, and, when the bell finally rings, 'Nessa's still in the fight. Krissy has the round wide, however, and we're even at 47.

ROUND SIX:

Kreuk continuing to control matters. She's finding 'Nessa and backing her up with hard shot to the head. She's even sneaking in a little body work here and there. Things change in the middle minute, however. Hudgens' legs come around and the American gets back on the move. She's circling and jabbing and working her way back into the round as Krissy, mindful not to push all of this too far, backs off the throttle just a bit. Final minute sees 'Nessa close the gap and pull into the lead as she continues to lead Kreuk a merry chase around the ring, stopping to pop here and there, then getting out of Dodge before any rejoinders from her Canadian opponent can find their targets. By the time the bell rings, Hudgens has taken the round narrowly and pulled back ahead 57-56.

ROUND SEVEN:

'Nessa moving. Krissy moving with. Both trying to make openings for their offense with both hands and feet. And, both having some success doing it. Round looking a lot like the mid-to-late sixth, with both fighters scoring, but Hudgens getting the better of things. BOOM! Straight right by 'Nessa and KREUK IS HURT! Krissy wobbles and 'Nessa lets the hands go and DOWN GOES KREUK! Kristin blown to her back in the middle of the ring. 'Nessa standing over her, taunting, until the ref sens her to a neutral corner. Mistake. Kreuk beats the count, possibly as a result of the extra time she'd been given by her opponent. After the mandatory...ON COMES VANESSA! American batters the Canadian back into the ropes and ABUSES her to head, body, rack! Krissy hanging on desperately as Hudgens goes to TOWN. BIG right by 'Nessa wobbles Kreuk and it's OVER! The referee leaps in and bundles the Canadian to safety and your winner by KO7 is Vanessa Hudgens!

AFTER:

"I TOLD you all," 'Nessa fairly snarls. "This girl is NOT in my LEAGUE. They keep sending her after me and she keeps winding up sucking canvas. And, that's the way this will go EVERY time she comes in against me. EVERY time!"
