Lili Reinhart vs. Samara Weaving

BEFORE:

Two rising stars in the FCBA's bantamweight division. Weaving's burst onto the scene since joining Odds and Ends from the BBU, winning impressively over some solid opposition. Reinhart's build has been slower, but no less impressive, landing her in the Top Twenty and on the edge of the title picture. But, she's wading into Odds and Ends' specialty here, taking on her fellow blonde on the beach. And, the Aussie is nothing but confident about her chances on the sand. "Yeah, Lili's maybe the best girl I've fought. I mean, there's a reason Front Street kept her and released King. But, she isn't going to be able to handle me any better than Hunter could."

"I'm not Hunter King," says a hard-eyed Lili. "And, Samara's going to realize that. Very, very quickly."

ROUND ONE:

Samara realizes that very, very quickly. Weaving showing her uber aggression early. And Lili's more than ready for it. BOOM! Reinhart catches the Aussie with a straight right hand on the way forward the Samara is steppin' in fence post holes! That quickly, the Aussie's being driven back across the sand to the ropes, where Reinhart begins calling in artillery strikes. Weaving keeping the guard high, so Lili goes body, hammering the midsection, working the ribs. Weaving tying up, Lili stacking her, going right back to work on that body, then landing a short right hook that wobbles Weaving AGAIN! Samara stumbling along the ropes. Ref now looking in closely. Reinhart all in for a stoppage...DING. Weaving survives. But, she's very wobbly on the way back to her corner and Lili's taken the points wide to lead 10-9.

ROUND TWO:

Lili forward early, backing up the Aussie with hard shot, but, after about thirty seconds, Weaving begins holding canvas. Reinhart quickly gets the point. She's not going to continue pressing and walk into something. Instead, ladies settle into some boxing. Lili getting the better of that early, but, about half way through the round, Samara begins angling forward, bringing the heavy leather, and, all of a sudden, it's Lili who's backing up. Reinhart surprised to be on the back foot and even more surprised a bit later when Weaving forces her back into the ropes. Lili's not hurt, but she's definitely coming off second-best all of a sudden, taking a licking from the Aussie, who, a round after nearly being stopped, now seems to have everything working. At the bell, Weaving pushes up off Reinhart, earning a glare. But, Samara only smiles as she bounces back across the sand to her corner having taken the round solidly and evened the fight at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Reinhart hears it in the corner from Neve, who can be heard shouting "We are NOT backing up in this f**king fight!" So, Lili doesn't. But, that doesn't stop Weaving from charging forward and aggressively attacking. Result? FIREFIGHT ON THE SAND! Blondes hot tossing, banging away at head and body with everything in the arsenal. And, something's gotta give. Only. It doesn't. Showing just how sturdy they both are, Aussie and American ship LOADS of shell and stay afloat, firing back, giving as good as they get. Crowd going nuts as sand flies as fast as punches. Nobody's backing up. Nobody's backing down. And, nobody's gaining much of an advantage, either. When the bell finally rings, there's absolutely nothing in it. Round is even and so is the fight, at 29.

ROUND FOUR:

"We are NOT backing up in this f**king fight!" And, they don't. The blondes again go right after one another in the center of the ring, leather and sand flying as both American and Aussie are determined to impose will. Problem is, no one is willing to get imposed UPON. Instead, both fighters hold sand and pound away at their respective opponent's head and body. And, after a fashion, that body work begins to predominate. It's as if, by mutual agreement, the fighters have realized that nobody's going to punk, so a war of attrition is going to be necessary. And, thus, said war begins. Leather slams into ribs and tummies. And, the ladies, again, take the licking and keep on ticking. When the bell finally rings, it's close, but it's Lili. And Reinhart goes up 39-38. But. Absolutely no one believes this thing is going to the cards.

ROUND FIVE:

Still not backing up. Not one step. Neither Weaving nor Reinhart. So, once again, the round sees both fighters banging away at one another in the middle of the ring. Again, the body work predominates, as both fighters look to reduce the resistance of the other, but, there are plenty of hard shots landing upstairs as well, and, once again, both blondes prove how sturdy they are, shipping the damage and firing back. And, both are also showing what kind of shape they're in, because, despite taking tons of punishment and using an equal amount of energy, nobody is slowing down. In fact, if anything, the last thirty seconds of the round see more action than any point in the fight so far. When the round finally ends, there's a staredown before the blondes head back to their corners. Again, it's close. This time, it's Samara. And, we're even at 48.

ROUND SIX:

Right back at it. Blondes asking no quarter and giving none. And, the amazing part of this is that it's gone on this long without someone...BOOM! Right hand, REINHART and WEAVING IS HURT! Samara rumblin', stumblin' fumblin' across the sand as Lili lets the hands go and batters her back into the ropes. Again, the Aussie gets the guard up and keeps it there, putting the body on fire sale. But. Lili's not buying now. She's determined to finish this thing immediately, hammering away upstairs, looking for the shot that's going to turn off the lights. Weaving rolling with, blocking, firing back just enough to keep the referee from stopping this thing. He's looking in closely, on a hair-trigger as Lili continues getting off lusty, but, for the second time, Weaving makes it to the bell. It's Lili wide, though, and up 58-57.

ROUND SEVEN:

Reinhart on a seek and destroy mission. And, the "seek" part isn't that hard. Weaving's legs not all the way back, and the American is taking full advantage, lining the Aussie up and dropping bombs on her. Samara firing back in spots, but mostly taking, giving ground grudgingly, but giving it. While looking for the counter that can change the trajectory of the...BOOM! Right hand LILI AND DOWN GOES WEAVING! A BLISTERING straight right from Reinhart lands on the button and drops Samara to her back in the sand! Lili quickly to a neutral corner. Samara down, but not out. She's staring wide-eyed at the ref as he counts, shaking the head, rolling to her belly, then pushing up to all fours and beginning to crawl across the sand to the ropes. She grabs the bottom rope but it slips away and she collapses, face first, into the sand as the count passes her by! It's OVER! And your winner by KO7 is Lili Reinhart!

AFTER:

Reinhart definitely looking like she's been in a fight, but she's smiling anyway. "Look, I don't know what people are bashing Hunter about. This girl can FIGHT. She's aggressive as hell and she can really HIT. Thing is, you can't get put into reverse against her. That's what she wants. You've got to hold your ground and give it back. I'm the kind of girl who can do that. You aren't bullying me around the ring. And, that was the key tonight."
