Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Priyanka: 38 YO, 5’6 1/2 (1.69 m), 14-13-0, 14 KO since 2015 Hawkeye International

Shay: 33 Y), 5’7 ½ (1.71 m(, 31-29-0, 31 KO since 2011, Pretty Little Punchers

Before: “I am looking forward to this fight,” said Shay Mitchell as the pre-fight presser, “I beat Priyanka in 2016 even though she tried to intimidate me by starting a catfight at the presser for that one.’

“If hadn’t gotten us entangled in those stage curtains I would kicked your butt,” snapped Priyanka.

“Nobody won it, we were pulled apart by Security, but I was well on my way to beating you!” Shay retorted.

(One notices the presence of large numbers of FCBA Security people on or near the stage. Apparently the Front Office hasn’t forgotten that little fracas either)

“I will kick your butt in the ring this time,” Priyanka hissed, “and I will enjoy it.”

“Dream on,” Shay said dismissively. “I beat you then, I will beat you now and you can start on a fresh round of excuses for it.”

Priyanka looks ready to charge Shay, but the FCBA Security seem to be moving into position to block her. She scowls in annoyance: “Guess we’ll have to settle this in the ring.”

“You’re on, baby, you’re on,” replies Shay and two wearily exit the stage.

They meet again on Fight Night, Priyanka in a navy blue one piece with yellow trim. Yellow gloves and boots with navy blue laces. Hair pulled back in a battle braid. Shay in a white one piece with green tropical palm leaves pattern on it. Green gloves with white laces. White boots with green laces. Hair in a perky ponytail.

The ring instructions are covered efficiently. Shay and Priyanka seem intent on getting to the fight part of the evening. After the instructions they quickly tap gloves and quickly djourn to their corners. The bell rings….

R1: Priyanka and Shay advance to the middle of the ring to get things started. They exchange blows to the head and flanks, but then things settle down into a close-in battle of body punching. Priyanka working Shay’s abs and ribs. Shay trying to do the same, but Priyanka getting her hooks in just a little harder, knocking Shay off balance again and again. Shay stubbornly trying to hang in and she adds some shots to Priyanka’s breasts. Priyanka not liking this gives Shay a dose of jugg mugging in return. Shay slowly giving ground, but landing enough counters to keep close. However when the bell sounds it is Priyanka Chopra who emerges with a narrow win on the judges’ cards.

R2: The action resumes as R2 gets started, but Priyanka uses a feint to the body to land a ringing one-two left/right combo on Shay jaw. Shay goes wobbly as she struggles to hold Priyanka off. Priyanka is pressing Shay hard to the stomach and ribs to drive the hunched up Puncher back into the ropes. Shay hits the strands and tries to clinch to escape, but as soon as the referee breaks it up, Priyanka hammers Shay right back onto the ropes. Shay finally takes a seat on the ropes, covers up and lets Priyanka swab her body with tormenting lefts and rights. Shay looks numb with shock at the bell, but makes her way stiffly to her corner. Priyanka wins the round by a comfortable margin.

R3: Shay looking stiff and sore coming out for the new round. All Priyanka needs to see for her to resume the attack on Shay’s body. Shay trying to fend Priyanka off with some stinging jabs to the jaw, mouth and juggs, but Priyanka is willing to take the punishment to keep slamming her mitts into Shay’s shuddering body again and again. Shay all hunched up, but she is fighting off Priyanka’s efforts to return her to the ropes. Then Priyanka suddenly shifts the action to upperuts into Shay’s chin. Priyanka gets between Shay’s gloves to do this and Shay goes reeling back into the ropes. Priyanka now pounds away at Shay’s body, but it has taken her so long to get Shay trapped that she doesn’t get far before the bell rings. Shay still looks pretty stiff as she leaves the ropes and Priyanka wins another round wide.

R4: Shay has lost the first three rounds and doesn’t look good slumped on her stool. PLP Trainer Nia Peeples telling her fighter she’s got to get control of this fight. Be more aggressive! Take the initiative! Shay nods grimly. Meanwhile Priyanka is being told she’s wearing Shay down and to keep up the good work. Breaking Shay to the body is as good as a KO punch to the jaw! Priyanka nods.

The bell rings and out Priyanka and Shay come. Priyanka heads right for Shay’s aching body but suddenly Shay’s overhand right comes plowing into the center of Priyanka’s face! Priyanka recoils and takes a left in the same place! Blood starts dribbling from Priyanka’s nose down to her chin. Priyanka quickly gets over the shock and smacks home a right to Shay’s jaw and then a left to her chin. Shay answers with a smashing right to the jaw that whips Priyanka head around splattering Shay with blood and sweat. However Priyanka comes right back with right to the jaw of her own that sends Shay spinning away. Shay regains control just as Priyanka bursts upon her once again aiming for Shay’s head, but Shay stuffs a right hook into Priyanka’s gut to stall the attack. Priyanka on her heels but fights back as Shay counterattacks. Now they are back at toe to toe, hammering each other to the body. Rages like this to the bell. In fact, referee has to step in and stop the punching. Priyanka hit hard a couple of times, but fights back to make Shay’s winning of the round close.

R5: Priyanka looking to put Shay down once and for all, comes out and goes for the badly bruised body of her opponent. However, Shay getting the range on Priyanka’s head and landing her punches with impact. Priyanka’s head swatted around by Shay and Shay working to get a tottering Priyanka onto the ropes. Priyanka able to stay clear of the ropes, but she has to keep her gloves up around her head which allows Shay free rein on pummeling Priyanka’s body with vengeful right and lefts until time runs out. Shay wins the round wide.

R6: Priyanka not willing to concede control of fight to Shay. Priyanka out quickly from her corner and goes after Shay to the body. However Shay moving more nimbly now and she again finds the openings to bang Priyanka to the head. Priyanka stubbornly trying to get back in close so she can resume ravaging Shay’s torso, but she is stopped by Shay’s banging blows to the sides of her head. Priyanka starts to feel these head blows and moves back on rubbery legs. Then Shay bursts through Priyanka’s weak high guard and crashes a right uppercut in under Priyanka’s chin. Beautifully landed blow that jerks Priyanka off her feet and sends her THUNDERING TO THE CANVAS!. Priyanka with arms and legs spread in a classic starfish as Shay looks down on her with a big smile before trotting to the neutral corner.

Priyanka trying to get back up, but can do no more than reach a sitting position with her right arm supporting her as she hears:

“NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”

THE WINNER SHAY MITCHELL DEFEATS PRIYANKA CHOPRA KO6!

Before: “I admit I got off to a shaky start,” concedes Shay Mitchell in the postfight, “but I am came back and took Priyanka Chopra out—again! It was a good night for me and for the PLP. We are always happy when we can beat one of those insufferable HISC fighters!”

“Yes, I am quite disappointed. I was wearing her down, she couldn’t have lasted much longer under my body attack, but she wasn’t quite as weakened as I thought. She made my head ring and I was not the same fighter over the last three rounds. I remain convinced I can beat that woman and I will if I ever get the chance again!” Priyanka declares to the press.

This has to be called an impressive win by Shay Mitchell. She got worked over to the body for three rounds, but came back to knock Priyanka Chopra out. No doubt this was a disappointing loss for the HISC boxer. Priyanka seemed to be in charge, but fate can be fickle in the FCBA and she lost that control and, eventually, the fight. Plenty of action for the fans to enjoy and they certainly got their money’s worth with this one.
