Special "Fight Nite on Fox" broadcast: Friday night genre beauties getting a network showcase in a contest designed to push respective shows. Commercials running throughout month of February, showing the girls in Fox-fur bikinis, hunting each other in a forest: lots of close ups of furtive faces, alert eyes etc.

Before: "I've heard Summer's got a bit of a fixation on me," Eliza shrugs in prefight. "Wants to make her mark on the Sheriff; get noticed by taking me down. Works in theory I guess, but it's also a good way to catch a heavy ass-kicking. She's been talking, so I'm answering: maybe when I'm done with her, she'll understand why novices are never allowed in with me." Glau relaxed - if she's intimidated, it's not showing. "It's no secret that the route I want to take through the bantamweight division runs right through Dushku," Glau says at podium. "I think she's the best overall fighter at the weight, and I want to wear her down and take that away from her. I know there are easier paths to a title - I know the girls who are taking those paths right now - and I don't want to be one of them." Both girls dressed in fox-fur bikinis designed by marketing gurus at Fox - complete with crazy ears and tails (ears and tails removed after the lengthy ring entrances); small fox-fur punching mittens designed to bruise rather than cut.

During R1: Summer pumping her jab, keeping right hand at jaw as she's getting off. Dushku out on the end of it, stymied early: Glau showing enough class to problematize Eliza's pass attempts. Dushku parrying, weaving poke - circling, looking for ways in. Eventually, Eliza gives up trying to close - boxing Summer straight up, getting outjabbed in the process. Fur mittens on face: thump, skid. Round to Glau close.

R2: Dushku eyes narrowed, crouching lower, doubling up her jab on the approach: she's committed to fighting inside the reach of Summer's jab. Takes Eliza a minute to negotiate, but once inside, Glau's accommodating. Bumping, rubbing forehead to forehead punch-up: both girls scoring in turns. Eliza a little sharper in combination, touching up torso for points.

R3: Summer ups her game - stepping in her jab, following with the right hand: Dushku forced to retreat early as Glau shows impressive determination up the middle. Eliza circling, stooping to jab Summer's body, then reaching in to clinch: Glau pushing off well, keeps hips back, digs lanky uppercuts to the body, punishing Dushku inside. Eliza fielding several stuffing blows to tummy and breasts: Summer outworking her idol through 3.

R4: Dushku ups tempo again - doubling the jab to get inside, then crowding Summer, working her over. Glau pushing against Eliza, leaning in with her, hanging chin out over either Dushku shoulder: sultry stuff and Summer doesn't shy away - willing to swap it up in a phone booth. Eliza settling into a busy rhythm: flurrying 5 punch bursts to Summer's tummy tits and ribs, then clipping away to chin as the capper. Dushku pretty slick here - easing back after the tummy-flurry, shifting weight to right foot to pull the sneaky hook across, or standing on left foot to hack the right up top. Summer outclassed, well-worn to body and head both in a strong Dushku 4th.

R5: Dushku penetrating a little more cleanly now: Summer not getting the jab on with as much authority. Inside, Glau's a trooper, but Eliza's a magician: Dushku with all the tricks, plus steadily outworking Summer toe to toe. Muffled thumping of fur-lined mittens bouncing off and sliding against ribs, firm tummies. Dushku building everything off those rapid fire 5 punch bursts to belly - she'll tilt to one side, cuff and clout Summer off either foot as Glau's falling forward - then they'll do it all over again. Dushku drawing warnings for open-hand slapping Glau upside the head on occasion: just little clouts to maintain rhythm and keep Summer occupied.

R6: Summer really fighting her heart out: closing with Eliza, dippin'-n-diggin' with her: too bad it's the wrong fight. Glau fitting robust, thumping right uppercuts to Eliza's midsection or breasts - really getting into the beef of Dushku with stroke...but Eliza's doing all that and then some. Dushku polishing up the belly, then working up-torso to tidy up jug and chin. Dushku sidestepping while leaning forward in close, turning Glau, getting her feet moving. Consummate stuff from the Sheriff as she starts breaking Summer down, taking away her options one by one.

R7: Glau visibly lumping up, slowing - but she's still combative - stepping-to Eliza and punching-with. Dushku caught in the body via the right uppercut; hooked to the chin hard enough to make her hold - but overall Eliza's in control. Steady torrent of tapping blows punctuated by the odd heavy clout is Eliza's program: she's outworking Summer, punching the fight out of her. AND working on those breasts: Dushku swiping a fair amount of jug through 7.

R8: Fighting inside - Eliza really working hard - pushing Summer around, scrubbing her head across and under Summer's chin throughout. Chugging hup-hup administered to Summer's tired tummy: she's bunching up, arms reaching listlessly 'round Dushku now as E just slides back in good order, walking Summer's body into dukes. Up-torso, Eliza claiming steadily against Summer's pleasing jugs - tilting side to side to whack 'em with right hands off left foot; left hands off right. Eliza scoring to chin with clubbing, swatting shots - often while shifting weight to her back foot to keep Summer falling forward. Glau dramatically out-punched this round; she's looking shabby, damaged through 8.

R9: Give Summer credit: she's getting belted at this point, but showing no signs of quit - even rallying to punch-with Eliza inside. No combinations from Summer, but she's still working a nice tight right uppercut to Eliza's under-rated rack, or tucking short right hands into Dushku's waist. Glau missing up top as a remarkably fresh Dushku bobs on the spot, getting underneath Sum's attempts and answering her to the midsection. Too much Eliza: defiant Summer steadily beaten, but refusing to bend the knee through 9.

R10: More Eliza. Dushku with a blistering first minute - clearly trying to stop her young foe: Glau punched round the ring, into the ropes and corners as Eliza lowers her hands and pitches haymakers from the hips. Glau dizzy with punishment, but refusing to go down: Eliza eases back on the throttle, recognizing Glau won't cooperate tonight. Sheriff eases back inside - very comfy bumping and controlling Sum at close quarters, then tidying up in combination. Glau exhausted by extensive body work - she's stumbling forward, legs shabby - just trying to tie up and stay close. Goes to the cards, comes back UD10 close, Eliza Dushku.

After: Dushku resplendent: big dimply smiles and high fives for her stablemates after a very professional outing. Glau banged up, but you can see she's not discouraged: every minute with Eliza tonight was a valuable experience for Summer. "She's got heart, some skill," Eliza shrugs in postfight. "I took the kid's legs away from her and stayed on her: I probably haven't thrown that many punches since the Lilly fight. You know, I feel great, I'm looking good: the 'pack might be licking it's wounds at flyweight, but I'm thinking we're looking very strong at bantam. Very strong indeed."
