BEFORE:

"She's a former champion," says Madeleine with a nod, "So, obviously, no one expects ME to win. But. No one expected Shipka to win here last month, either."

"She's physical," says Gemma with a nod. "And, she's very smart. She'll beat people if she gets the work. But. She's not beating ME."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Get Some' by Chad McKinsey and here comes one of the stars of the CW's freshman hit 'Charmed', Madeleine Mantock!"

McCarthy: "Matlock? Is she related to the guy who used to be on that show? I LOVED 'Matlock'..."

Cassie: "You and the rest of the geezers..."

McCarthy: "Who are you calling a GEEZER, you LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "Now, calm down, Mac, and let's keep our eyes on the ring, where Madeleine is climbing in and being helped off with the robe to reveal a forest green number that has the crowd buzzing. And, that's 'London Calling' by the Clash you hear behind us, and here comes former Unified Lightweight Champion Gemma Arterton!"

Tess: "Arterton got some competition here last month from Sosa, and with all kinds of rumors flying around about the future of Front Street, no question she wants to take care of business against Madeleine tonight..."

O'Dell: "Arterton into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that violet number we've seen before. And, the ladies are about ready. Let's get some picks. Tess likes Gemma. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins for Matlock. Arterton."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "We're unanimous. Let's see if the panel is right. Mantock aggressive early. She's coming forward, looking to bang, wants to get physical with Gemma. Arterton giving some ground here, not going to get into a firefight in the first round that would seem to be of benefit to the underdog..."

Cassie: "Exactly. Not a lot of risk for Madeleine, but a TON of possible reward."

O'Dell: "Madeleine landing a nice right hand there. Gemma not hurt, but she gives some more ground. Arterton wants to box here, but, at the moment, Mantock not giving her the time or space to do that. GOOD right from Gemma got Madeleine's attention, but didn't slow her down."

Tess: "Not exactly throwing caution to the wind here, but she's certainly taking chances..."

O'Dell: "Is, indeed, and, for the moment at least, it's working. Mantock having the better of things as we roll into the final seconds. SHARP exchange there and both fighters landed solid right hands in it. Five seconds to go. Mantock lands a good right to the body and there's the bell. Madeleine solidly in the first and up 10-9."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Mantock continuing the pressure. She's coming forward behind the left jab. Arterton hanging in there now and banging back hard and we've got a FIREFIGHT in the middle of the ring! Both fighters tossing bombs right now and nobody taking a step back!"

McCarthy: "Now, THIS is a fight!"

O'Dell: "And there's a BIG right hand from Gemma followed by a BIG right hand from Madeleine! Mantock showing that physicality Arterton was talking about in the pre-fight! We're about half way through this round and we've already seen a TON of hard shot landed..."

Tess: "ANOTHER big right for Gemma!"

O'Dell: "And Mantock fires right back! Crowd on its feet now as these ladies are HAVING AT one another. Nobody giving an inch as we head down the stretch. Arterton a SHARP combination and that forced Madeleine to cover up. ANOTHER hard flurry from Gemma and there's the bell! Wow! What a round. Close. Arterton."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third and they're right back at it. Mantock not at all cowed by that last round. She's after Gemma again, and the former champ again holding ground and firing back and the hot tossing resumes! TONS of heavy leather being thrown as both fighters sit down on punches..."

Cassie: "But, nobody's abandoning defense. Lots of head movement. Hands coming back quickly. Punches being slipped and rolled with."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it, Cassandra Lynn, but, with the volume of hard shot being thrown around in there, there's plenty of it getting through including THAT hard right from Madeleine and there's a BOOMING rejoinder from Gemma and DOWN GOES MANTOCK!"

Tess: "Well, THAT ought to do it..."

O'Dell: "Just a perfectly-placed right hand from the former champion and Mantock is blown to her back. Gems to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Madeleine rolling to her belly at seven. Eight. She's trying to push up to hands and knees but can't do it! Nine TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO3 is 'The Gravesend Gladiator' Gemma Arterton!"

McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Gemma Arterton, and, Gems, a ton of hard shot thrown in under three rounds..."

Gemma (nodding): "As I said, she's physical. Tried to manage some of that early, but, it became clear I needed to step up to her and get her out of there. And, that's what I did."

O'Dell: "Good start to 2019 for you. What's next?"

Gemma (smiling): "We'll see what management has in store. Whatever it is, I'm up for it!"
