Richards bringing the fight to Milla's rib cage via wide right hands and muscular-shoulder bumping - blonde backing brunette up and getting Milla out of her rhythm in the first.

R2: Denise stays on the ribcage - getting there loud with the right hand, mopping up tummy a clawing left as she crowds in. Jovovich leggy, using the ring, but not getting off much - looks a little discouraged by those ringing body shots early.

R3: Denise forward, workmanlike - just cutting off the ring, putting mitts on meat and walking Milla down. Jovovich with a stinging jab - she's been landing it all night long, but not committing on any other punch - Richards bulling through it and throwing ham to the torso.

R4: Milla turns things around. Doubled up jab crisp to the face, finally getting Richards to halt in her tracks. Stabbing rights slanted down into the sternum. Nimble lateral steps to either side - Milla never standing in front of Denise for too long. Milla very expressive when she punches - pursing her lips and frowning - Denise comparatively poker-faced. Shutout Jovovich - she tarts up Richards' eyes and mouth with a pretty blend of pinging straight lefts and rights - corner wants her to 'punch through' the target and start hurting Richards.

R5: Milla's jab her best punch - darting, biting punch, hand back quick like she's testing hot water. Jovovich moving the stick around - tapping it flat to Richards' paunch, constantly pounding the face while stepping to either side. Denise grim, determined, trudging through it - she's still landing dependable rights to the ribs and left arm, doing her best to shut Jovovich down. Down the stretch, Milla pulls the trigger on a nice short right hand off the shoulder, turning over that back foot, really drilling it home: Denise takes her first backwards steps, shaking her head after firm chin-check.

R6: Milla weight on front foot, putting pinging lefts and rights in a brisk shoe-shine across Denise' head and shoulders - Richards covering up, riding out the nuisance punching, but when she looks to punch...Milla's gone. Jovovich rotating counterclockwise - showing a stabbing lead right hand, deploying a clawing hook to Denise's ribs - Jovovich opening up the playbook as Richards bogs down. D lumping up nicely, but shaking her head 'No' en route to her corner for the break: she's shaking off Jovovich's classy leather. Cards all even after 6 - boils down to a 3 round fight now.

R7: Shutout Jovovich - her best round thus far. Milla scowling, stapling lead right hands with machine-like delivery to Denise's left eye - pounding blows rock blonde, freeze her as brunette able to rotate away and reset. Milla's jab stinging tummy, spanking face - Richards unable to weave it or block it, and when she tries to step-out, nimble Milla steps-with, keeping the pressure on. Jovovich clawing that hook to Richards' ribs, but her best body shot appears to be a crook-armed right hand placed firm to solar plexus - brings a smile to Milla's lips everytime she's able to get it on weary D.

R8: Denise hemmed in - Milla's legs are suppressing Denise's. Milla's jab suppressing Denise's - Richards mostly covered up in a blocking look, waiting to counter. Jovovich exhaling "HA! HA! HA!" as she pops shots - drilling away lefts and rights up top, mixing in lead rights to cross up the defence. Milla stepping in off her jab and slapping right/left to Denise's waist - Richards shiny eyed as she glares back, unable to do a thing about it.

R9: Milla pouring it on, tireless legs moving her in, out and around her prey, fists tearing, pecking and rifling in punishment. Richards getting hit an alarming percentage of connects, but still trying to front-up and get off - every once in a while, she'll tug on Jovovich's chin or smite her ribs, backing curly headed brunette off. Milla's eyes bright, she smells hurt - late the round she really sets down on slanting jabs down into Denise's body, really ramming home the straight left and stepping to the right as Richards cringes. RIGHT HAND MILLA! Jovovich pulls the trigger on a blistering straight right, turning over the back foot pretty, splitting Richards' tired gloves and catching blonde expecting another left to the body. DOWN GOES RICHARDS! Denise dropped to her backside near the ropes, legs outstretched - she makes a couple of attempts to roll off her left hip, but limbs numb, she can't get off her ass. TKO9 in stunning fashion, Milla Jovovich.

After: Jovovich delivers with shocking finality - drilling Denise a diamond-cutter right to end what had been a relatively competitive bout in the first half. "Milla's skills took over pretty much as we expected," says a breezy Lange. "She took her time, broke Denise down and we're thrilled with the knockout. Not many girls can release a straight right hand like that: Denise's chin won't be the last one to get dented by Milla!"
