Kate Beckinsale vs Summer Glau

Kate:

(45, 5’7, 44:34:3 FCBA, VIXENs)

Summer:

(37, 5’6, 24:33 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:

A night of revenge indeed as the newest Head of Communications Kate Beckinsale makes her way down the ramp with a sly wink at the cameras. She’s wearing a white bra and briefs lingerie set underneath all those feathers, together with that pearly-white shawl that’s drifting out back.

“I don’t want you to think this is going to be a regular occurence,” Kate laughing at the reporter’s question ring-side. “I have other duties now like managing a stable full of volatile Vixens, all of whom with explosive personalities. That being said, I feel that me and Summer? We’ve got some unfinished business after she won the title from me all the way back in 2011. That same belt may not be on the line tonight, but I sure as hell want to prove that I did have what it took back then to become a champion. So wish me luck!”

Beckinsale disrobing in the ring, that toned body of hers looking nothing like it has aged any of those 45 years. She’s tying her brown hair up into a battle bun just as Summer Glau’s music hits the airwaves. Glau turning the wrong side of 40 herself very soon, but still possessing those girlish, baby-faced looks as she smiles and waves sweetly for the cameras. Make no mistake though - this former Medallion Boxing alumni and Bantamweight champion has won her own fair share of battles back in her prime, but unfortunately hasn’t scored a win since 2015.

“Oh, I remember that match well,” Glau grinning at the cameras as the crowd begins to chant her name. “A TKO in round five over Beckinsale, was it? I expected more from Kate at that point in time, and suffice it to say, I don’t expect much more from her at this advanced stage of her career as mother, matron and caretaker. TKO by round five it is again, I predict!”

Girls meet in the center of the ring and Beckinsale just looking more intimidating and menacing than her counterpart, who after all these years, is still rocking a leaner figure in her black bikini top and long silver tights. The girls do a brief tap of their gloves when the referee calls for it, before heading back to their respective corners and getting into fighting stances. With a wave of the hand, HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:

Summer using her agility to run circles around the bigger, heavier-set Beckinsale, frustrating the newest addition to the VIX roster with repeated punches to the head. It’s not the best start to the Brit’s quest for revenge, as she spends more time trying to neutralise Summer’s punches with dodges and blocks, and almost forgets that she’s fully capable of hitting back herself all the way until the third minute rolls around. Kate then having more trouble with actually landing anything significant, with Glau again using her long legs to move out of range of the Brit. One or two heavy shots manage to hit the forearms square, but it’s a far cry compared to the amount of abuse Beckinsale took in return this round, which therefore goes wide to Summer by the bell.

ROUND 2:

More blaze of punches as the two competitors ramp up the action simultaneously. Glau still going for fire and fury, sending rapid flurries towards Kate’s head and body, hoping to whittle the Brit girl down bit by bit and tire her enough out to win a second time. But Kate using those opportunities to batter the American back, hitting counter-blows straight to Summer’s nose and lips, and occasionally batting hard at the American’s lean body with a hook or two thrown into the mix. All this leaves Glau unexpectedly gasping for air as she comes out of each exchange looking like she’s regretting using hit-and-run tactics if her opponent can hit back as well. She’s starting to realise that she can’t possibly hope to hang and bang with someone like Beckinsale, and retreats in the final seconds to try and snipe at Kate’s face from afar. But it’s too little, too late, and Kate takes the second round for herself and keeps her dream of revenge alive.

ROUND 3:

Summer however playing to her strengths in the third, well and away keeping her distance and jabbing more consistently at Kate’s head and body whilst also moving spritely. Brit shieldmaiden keeps on giving her opponent points to score and targets to hit, and Glau taking them unabashedly with scores to the lips as Kate tries to get in close too early to overwhelm. Beckinsale still trying to bully Summer backwards across the ring, but the audience notices Summer’s fast feet as her ultimate weapon, allowing her to escape the sudden onslaught of swings and misses. Glau landing a one-two combination to Kate’s tummy, sending her backwards and covering herself up, hoping for the best, her only claim to fame this round is that occasional hook landing hard into Summer’s guard. Kate rattling her badly, yes, but not putting her name on the scoreboards anytime soon if she doesn’t start hitting actual skin and flesh.

ROUND 4:

Glau sticking to her strategy that works: hit-and-run tactics as she flies forward with a flurry of punches designed to disrupt and harass Beckinsale, then jumping back and well out of the way as Kate’s follow-up strikes lack venom by not even landing. It’s reminiscent of that classic WWE match-up of Torrie Wilson versus the one and only Stacey Kiebler, with the leaner, taller blonde just springboarding from one end of the ropes to the other and leaving a bewildered Wilson powerless to grab hold of her foe in order to do some damage. But what everyone remembers is how that feud concluded: Like Torrie, Beckinsale finally getting some results when she herds a clueless Glau into one corner, the Brit’s jabs sent left and right as they force Summer into a space she can’t escape from herself. Last minute of the round and it’s an absolute massacre for the Vixen: strapping hooks pounding off Glau’s body left and right, her gates getting battered down with artillery in order to score a potential knockdown. That is, unless Glau can keep her wits about her for a final minute or so? Summer covers up and turtling, her body still being targeted by Beckinsale as the Brit looks to make up for lost time in this fight. At the bell, the referee has to pull Kate off of Summer, making it clear she’s lost an opportunity to floor the American for good. Still, plenty of good stuff nonetheless and a stern reminder for Glau not to take things lying down.

ROUND 5:

Glau still rattled by that late-round flurry to her body and upper torso, once upon a time defending well but getting socked to the tummy and side of the head will certainly leave some deep psychological scars. Kate going back straight across the ring to try and finish her work, some boundless energy still remaining in that 45-year-old body of hers as she initiates the exchange with another wild attack to Summer’s face. Summer quickly landing a left-right combo into Beckinsale’s face as well, but she’s the one looking more rattled when Kate scores back with her heavier hands to the arms. Glau on the backpedal again, can’t compete in a toe-to-toe brawl with the bigger Brit, but unfortunately still tries her luck at another hit-and-duck, gets FLOORED when Beckinsale times a right hook perfectly enough to SMASH into the cheek, sending Glau crashing down to the canvas!

Textbook KNOCKDOWN for Kate Beckinsale as she takes on the punishment and dishes it right back three-fold! Summer groaning as she forces herself to sit back up, but first, she needs to get off her back, those eyes squeezed and squinted shut as she takes in short, hurried breaths whilst pushing herself off the canvas. Kate celebrating the small victory in her own corner, supported by a legion of other fellow Vixens who have showed up in force to support their newest boss. The VIX corner erupts in cheers when the referee hits the count of 10 and Glau is still looking pasty-eyed, hanging her head over the middle rope! This fight is over!

Official Decision: Kate Beckinsale defeats Summer Glau via KO5!

AFTER:

Kate Beckinsale showing everyone how to behave properly when she immediately heads over to Glau, before helping her past opponent up to her feet. The two women share a brief hug on the ropes. They may have been adversaries when the bell rang, each of them scoring a victory now under their belts, but it doesn’t mean they have to continue this feud after the referee raises one woman’s hand and makes it official. Well, tell that to some of the other Vixens under the same banner tonight, and it looks like Beckinsale’s got the tougher job of cleaning up this boxing stable in the long run by keeping hotheaded girls like Alexis Ren in check. One thing’s for sure though: this British bombshell still packs a formidable punch, and if push comes to shove, she can too let her fists do the talking if need be.
