Bridgit Mendler vs Isabela Merced

Isabela wears a red bikini with white gloves and boots with red laces.

Bridgit is in blue bikini with black gloves and boots with blue laces.

Alyssa Milano is referee for this bout. She wears black bikini bottoms and a referee’s striped shirt which is cut off below her bust line which looks pretty good for the fight fans cheer her appearance here in this bout.

As the bell ended the fourth round of a flyweight bout between Bridgit Mendler and Isabela Merced, the fans were surprised by the bout so far. The blonde Mendler was now ahead on the scorecards after having taken the last round widely. Merced seemed to have taken some heavy leather to her body in the fourth and seemed grateful for the ringing of the bell and the return to her corner. Her coach from GBS, Salli Richardson, was giving her instructions and advice as Merced was attended to by her corner team. Mendler was all smiles in her corner as she was brought water and was worked on as the bout now moves to the fifth round.

The fight had been even after two rounds, as the two boxers split those rounds widely. But the third saw Bridgit win a close round there and the wide win in the fourth.

Some in the fight press wondered if Merced had peaked too soon and was on her way down the rankings after her 3 of her last 4 bouts were losses.

The bell rang beginning the fifth round and both boxers were up and moving to center of the ring. Merced started off with some long straights and jabs to the face of Mendler. Bridgit was surprised by these punches as was backing up as Isabela was in early control. Merced, though surprises the fans and Mendler as she kept up the facial punches to the blonde’s face. AND NOW WE ARE BOXING IN A PHONE BOOTH! Fight fans are up and cheering as the two flyweight boxers punch and counter punch. Grunts and groans come from both boxers as often now as their punches do as heard at ringside. The two boxers get in closer now but soon are clinched up together. Milano, who was close by, intercedes and separates the boxers. She then calls for the fight to continue. The boxers go for long range jabs as the round ends. The two boxers return to their corners as both now show the effects of their opponent’s punches. Merced has widely won the fifth round.

The sixth round opened with both boxers coming slowly to middle of the ring. Fight fans saw that the last round had taken something from the two combatants as they jabbed to open the round. Mendler mixed in a left hook to Merced’s belly that moved the fighters to circling now. Bridgit went to fire some straight punches but found Isabela to be dodging and sending short punches to her belly and ribs in response. The two seem to settle into punch and counter punch as the round goes on. Suddenly Isabela land a beautiful right uppercut that catches Mendler square on her chin. The blonde seems to stumble back and Merced is following her. A pair of heavy hooks go into Bridgit’s belly and then a left cross to her mouth put the blonde on the far ropes. Isabela hit her with a right uppercut and left hook. MENDLER GOES DOWN! The blonde falls down on her face and her arms are above her head. Milano has Merced in a neutral corner before she begins the count. By the time seven is counted by Alyssa, Bridgit’s eyes open. She tries to roll over but ten passes her by. KO R6 – Isabela Merced.

Isabela comes out of the corner and slowly walks to middle of the ring. She does pose for the cameras on the way however. Merced smiles wide as her right gloved hand is raised in victory by Alyssa Milano.

Bridgit is in her own corner being attended to. She looks disappointed as her doctor and corner crew work on her.

Mendler leaves the ring as Merced stays in the ring to celebrate her come from behind win.
