Before: Wild contrast in styles OUTSIDE the ring as pink sets up her first professional camp. Janet Jones rousting Jewel out of bed for road work at 5 AM: pink snoozing till noon with “Do Not Disturb” orders. Janet running Jewel through timed stations, structuring every aspect of the day: members of Pink’s entourage arrested for dealing, shutting camp down for 2 weeks as evidence is collected. Pink dismissing the distractions as non-issues: “It’s Jewel ‘KO’d’ Kilcher we’re talking  about,” trumpets Miss Trouble./ “They’re going to have to pull me off her carcass to stop this thing.” Jewel in teal bandeau bikini, slick ponytail—Pink in pink surfing bikini, black bars at hips, between the jugs.

During R1: Pink a lefty, but squaring up as she throws—great lusty swings, stepping in and heaving the overhand left. Jewel keeping her dukes, light on her feet, sees everything, dips down and counters every pink offering with dutiful right/lefts amidships. Pink never varying the routine, teeth bared—she steps to jewel, loads and throws—catches in stout tummy, stocky ribcage as Kilcher just takes what’s there. Jewel patient, only coming forward after she’s dug in, bumping Pink back, letting her regroup—Kilcher wants pink pitching as much as possible.

R2,3: Impressive discipline, execution from Jewel who’s clearly the more experienced pro-nice tight defence, improved head movement as she bends at the waist, gets under Pink’s crashing lefts and stays on that thick midriff, Pink landing the occasional clout, Jewel blocking well up around her temples, but feeling the power—Kilcher not taking any chances. Jewel not opening up, just taking her two downstairs, bumping Pink off and resetting—Kilcher content to whittle away on midsection, wicking away the power as Pibk starts to breathe hard after 2.

R4: Jewel dipping, hooking—now she’s coming forward—Pink visibly slowed, mouth breathing, no longer throwing her hands with abandon. By the second minute—bewildered Pink’s up against the ropes, hands up at jawlines, but not moving her head—Jewel’s tuning her up, Kilcher still the disciplined pro, bending her legs, tearing up the gut before trying upstairs, fitting short uppercuts between the gloves, chopping short lefts and rights on the ears, then moving her head to avoid any counters, pink slapped dumb by concise Jewel combinations—Kilcher turning, striding confidently to her corner as Pink starts whining in her corner.

R5: Jewel backing Pink up, getting under the telegraphed power shots, thumping the body—Kilcher’s done yeoman work down there, really sapping the power out of her aggressive opponent, pink spending long stretches upright, back to the ropes, taking 3 punch bursts from Jewel as Kilcher starts really ripping ‘em in. No head movement from Pink, no clinching—she’s not getting any advice from her  corner, doesn’t have a clue what to do when the left’s not coming connecting.

R6: Jewel staying on Pink, letting her get off, slipping low, getting back into the thick of Pink’s beefy torso with both mitts. Jewel dipping and slugging, bumping with her shoulder—she gets pink ropeside and goes to work once again. Pink in obvious discomfort, hands drooping—she gambling more and more with tired, wide-swinging lefts and rights, missing over the top, exposing her ribcage to more torture as crisp-punching Jewel takes repeated advantage, Down the stretch, pink catching on her chin, head bobbing dangerously—Jewel getting tight, curling uppercuts at will, then back down to that body with fat, thumping licks. Gorgeous, sustained beatdown, Jewel actually the bully late, palm-shoving Pink back, doubling up hooks and right hands to hunch her forward AND THE REF STEPS IN! That’s it—Pink all blubbery, shaking—she shudders in the ref’s arms as Jewel struts all smiles.

After: Lot of people thought jewel would get herself knocked out by exuberant Pink,, but exuberant Kilcher’s experience overcoming her opponent’s lusty punching by a long shot. Flawless game plan, disciplined execution—Jewel just breaking Pink down to the body, absorbing the pressure early, then turning it back on Pink, putting HER in trouble on the ropes and working her over for the stoppage in satisfying fashion.
