CELEBRITY BOXING AFTER DARK

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Meg: (DOB: 07/09/96), 5’5 (1.65 m), FCBA Debut, Unmanaged

Yvette: (DOB: 07/19/92), 5’4 (1.63 m), FCBA Debut, Unmanaged

Before: Meg and Yvette co-stars with Brec Bassinger on STRARGIRL (as Cindy/AKA Shiva and Yolanda/AKA Wildcat). Pretty Little Punchers have signed Brec. Now Meg and Yvette hope to attract the attention of potential managers as they make their FCBA debuts. They are cheerful and eager as they speak briefly before their bout.

“This is great,” says Meg, “Yvette, Brec and I have had a lot of sparring sessions on STARGIRL and I think the best.”

“Don’t believe that, I was better than either one of them,” pipes up Yvette.

“Now we our chance in REAL fight and I know I’ll be the winner,” declares Meg.

“Don’t count on that Meggy, it’s me you’re fighting, I’m going to win,” responds Yvette.

(They say all these in smiling manner, but one can detect the edge in their voices. They each have a lot riding on this fight and they know it.)Very shortly they depart for the ring in their hooded robes. Green with black trim for Meg, dark blue with gold trim for Yvette.

In the ring, Meg removes her robe to reveal her ring attire: a black with orange pattern one piece. Orange gloves and boots with black laces. Hair in a battle braid.

Yvette removed her robe to reveal a fiery orange-red one piece swimsuit with black gloves and boots (black laces). Hair pulled back in a battle braid.

The young woman look nervous with excitement as they stand with the referee and listen to his instructions. The instructions done, they tap gloves and then trot to their corners. The bell rang…

R1: Fighters come out slowly and warily circle each other at mid ring. They are punching tentatively, trying to remember their trainer’s instructions and not make any mistakes. Then Yvette makes the first big move: she charges in and smacks Meg hard to the face. Meg quickly answers with sharp hooks to the abs. Then Yvette clips Meg on the chin with her right an pops her solidly in the jaw with her left. Meg falling back on shaking legs, trying to use her jab to cover her withdrawal, but Yvette staying with her, pounding away at Meg head and body. Meg trying to steer clear o the ropes, but she’s got her hands full as Yvette maintains pressure to the bell. Yvette returns to her corner knowing she has won the round wide.

R2: Meg and Yvette much quicker out of their corners for this round. They clash at mid ring and there is a flurry of body punching to get things started. Then Meg DeLacy pops a strong right hand to the chin that sends Yvette reeling back on rubbery legs. Meg lunges after the dazed Yvette and swings for her head Yvette smacked against the side of the head with first a Meg right and then her left. Yvette covering her head so Meg now goes to the midsection and hammers away with hooks until she’s got Yvette tipped forward and hunched up. Meg now seems to be trying to steer Yvette into the ropes, but Yvette slides away from the ropes with Meg unable to herd her into them. Round ends with Meg attacking to Yvette’s body again and Meg salts away the round by a wide margin.

R3: Yvette looking woozy getting back to her corner and moves slowly as she answers the bell for the new round. Meg wasting no time in getting her leather into her hurting opponent. Meg using Yvette like a heavy bag, pounding her mostly to the body as she tries different angles ad punch combinations. Yvette trying to counter, but when she tries, Meg is there to start banging away at her to the head. Meg also showing growing skill as she is now able to cut off the ring and get Yvette back into the ropes. However, these efforts take so long that Meg doesn’t have much time to actual punch Yvette while she is on the strands. However the bell sounds and Meg DeLacy wins another round wide.

R4: Yvette makes an effort to show more aggression this round. She is out of her corner much faster and startles Meg with straight right to the mouth and left to the jaw. Meg drops back, circles and then comes forward. Yvette coming forward too and they clash in a fast punching exchange of body blows.. Yvette looks to be maneuvering to get a better angle, but then Meg strikes first with a ripping right to the chin. DOWN GOES YVETTE MONREAL! Yvette dropped on her bottom and stares up at Meg in surprise. Meg looks a bit surprised herself, but then scurries off to the neutral corner. Yvette sitting up looking annoyed and even pounding the canvas in frustration she then rises to break the count at “EIGHT!” Referee soon waves Meg back in. Meg eagerly charges forward, but Yvette moves out to meet her. Meg leaps forward with a sweeping right, but Yvette ducks under it to bring her own hammering right hand in under Meg’s chin. MEG IS THROWN BACKWARDS AND LANDS HARD ON HER BACK! Crowd gasps at the sight of Meg sprawled on her back. She raises herself up on her right arm with a “What Just Happened?” Look on her face. Yvette has gone to the neutral corner and watches as referee counts. Meg able to shake off the blow and she beats the count at “EIGHT!” Fight starts again, but both fighters looking cautious after their separate trips to the canvas. They exchange light punching to the bell. Rare double knockdown causes the round to be ruled a DRAW and gives the crow something to buzz about during the break.

R5: Yvette Monreal on the attack from the bell. She goes after Meg DeLacy with a nice variety of head and body shots which keep Meg guessing. Then Meg counterattacks with a hard hooks to the ribs and stomach. Meg looks to be trying to drive Yvette back, but Yvette digs in and answers with hard hooks of her own to pound Meg’s torso. The punch rate for the two soars as they fire away at toe to toe range, each trying to gain domination. Slowly, but surely Yvette’s relentless bombardment of Meg’s rib cage makes Meg start to wince with each new blow and then she finally pulls back to gain some breathing space. Yvette follows and is exchanging jabs with Meg as the round ends. Hard fought round goes by a narrow margin to Yvette Monreal.

R6: Meg and Yvette go right at each other once more as the 6th Round begins. First smacks to the jaw, then chin and straight shots into the face. Meg knocked back, but returns to drive Yvette back with swiping bows across her mouth, then a chin checker right. Yvette falls back, but then catches Meg with a clouting right to the belly that doubles her up with a groan. Yvette bangs Meg to the sides of the head, but then Meg erupts with rising right uppercut to the chin that spills Yvette backwards. Meg lurching forward but takes a smashing right/let combo to the jaw that brings her to a halt. Yvette coming at her when Meg heaves an overhand right that catches Yvette between the eyes! Yvette stunned and Meg goes at her to the belly. Yvette responds in kind and the two exchange belly busters to the bell. Both are bent over, dripping sweat as then they shakily return to their corners. Intense round that results in the judges calling it a DRAW. No doubt frustrating to the young fighters, but observers call it a fair decision.

R7: Fighters look slow as they come out for the new round. They put a lot into that 6th Round so it’s n surprise they are feeling it in the 7th. However, once the punches start striking home, things pick up quickly as Meg and Yvette start pouring in the leather. The blows are mainly to the body with ribs and stomach getting the most attention. Looks like this is about to turn into another toe to toe body battle and that is just what happens. They are going all out, trying to subjugate the body of the other with furious punching. Both soon are shuddering and groaning with each punch. Something surely has to give! Then Yvette suddenly steps back, but the move throws Meg off balance and she lurches forward. As she does. Meg’s chin is suddenly vulnerable and BANG! In slams a Yvette Monreal right uppercut! An BAM! There is an Yvette left to the jaw. Meg stumbles forward. Yvette has to jump out of the away AND MEG DELACY CRASHES ON HER FACE! Meg groaning and trying to rise. Yvette has gone to the neutral corner and watches anxiously as Meg continues to try to rise while the referee counts. Meg on all fours, tries to stand---NO! Meg’s legs buckle and she is pitched to her knees.

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”

THE WINNER YVETTE MONREAL DEFEATS MEG DELACY KO7!

After: Yvette bursts into happy tears as she realizes she has won the fight. She drinks in the cheers of the crowd, but then she looks over and sees a crushed Meg DeLacy being helped to her feet by the ref Yvette hurries over to hug Meg and tell her:

“You’ll get your win next time, I just know it!”

“Hope you’re right.” Meg says wearily. “Right now I just want to lay down and rest. I don’t feel so good.”

Yvette turns Meg over to her trainer and then happily walks back to her own corner, waving to the fans as she goes. She and Meg DeLacy gave it a lot of youthful heart and energy, but it was Yvette who emerges the winner. Where the future will lead them I the FCBA is unknown, but right now Yvette Monreal gets to enjoy the thrill of victory while Meg DeLacy knows the bitter taste of defeat.
