Welterweight showdown and it is high noon at the OK Corral. Some speculate that Camille Kostek is acting as a gatekeeper to keep the biggest girl in the FCBA away from the welterweight champion - Big Rig chuckling at the notion - “I’ll fight anybody anytime BUT … you have to earn it.”

Camille Kostek ranked 8th by Tractorpull, Lawley still trying to crack the ice of the stringent Tractorpull rankings; Boxing World Online on the other hand has Lawley 4th and Kostek 6th - anyway you look at it it’s an important showdown in the welterweight division.

Weigh in: the weigh in swayed a lot of betting dollars on this one - good rankings, both on winning streaks, top records - Kostek tipping the scales at 141 pounds - then big Robin steps on! Lawley … 176 … and a lot of bettors go to put there money on the big girl.

Fight Night: Camille Kosten to the ring, seconded by Nadia Bjolin and Big Rig herself - blonde rocking teal sports bra, matching boy shorts and boots and black gloves. Roar from the old Tojo films ad here comes Godzilla - Lawley seconded by Scrubby McGee, Big Bad Gena Lee Nolin and the Chin Checker Adrianne Palciki (who dropped a KO 6 on Kostek last year) - sullen and angry Jenny McCarthy relegated to front row seats, thus depriving Lawley of all of that “ring wisdom”?

No nonsense businesslike ring instructions - only hint of an issue if Nolin smirking at Bjorlin and Bjorlin giving it back - history between THOSE two goes way back!

Round 1: Kostek out of corner up on her toes, light and dancing. Lawley flatfooted, stalking. Kostek working the perimeter, flicking jab - catching the big girl’s kisser and then sliding away from the counter. Now fast footed blonde is showing hand speed - doubling the jab - big brunette again slow with the receipt. Lawley picks up the pace - casing circling blonde - Kostek stops abruptly and digs back foot into canvas, fires sharp right hand and it puts a shimmy in the big girl’s knees! Crowd quickly to feet roaring as it is clear Lawley is hurt early! Bjorlin roaring from corner “Finish her!!!” and Kostek is all in! Battering big girl to ropes with a barrage! Lefts and rights to rib cage, choudlers, chin. Lawley buzzed but able to slip a straight right and clinch. Kostek struggling to get hands free but the giant’s sheer strength. Brunette handing on for dear life and blonde struggling desperately to get hands free. Rigetti in Bonzo corner berating referee for “Break! C’mon, ref …”. When ref does try to enforce break, Lawley hanging on - finally girls separated and Kostek loses more time to follow up when ref takes time to give laely a finger wagging lecture to “break on his command!”. When finally gestures Cam forward, bell rings ending round. Round to Kostek. Lawley to stool getting ice on the neck and lecture from a snarling Gena Lee - Scrubby McGee more measured “Don’t chase … circle and cut off da damn ring … make it small!”

Round 2: Lawley out of corner, dukes high! Kostek loose limbed and skipping … looking to jab and goad the big girl into chasing. Lawley not having it … plodding forward behind raised guard and Kostek retreating … spitting jabs but most picked off by gloves and forearms. Lawley abruptly pivots right and cuts ring .. extends arms and pushes Kostek into ropes. Mauling and manhandling smaller blonde … punches mainly pounding shoulders and raised guard but sheer weight of shot taking a toll. Bjorlin - “Get off the ropes!”when Kostek tries to spin out, Lawley corrals her and slings her back. Lawley fighting at distance she likes now and dictating terms - pounding methodically. Kostek in high guard and picking off shots but impact alone is rattling her. After 30-40 long seconds, blonde manages to time a shot, slip it and spin out. Kostek in full retreat now … giving up canvas and the round to give her battered body a respite. Round to Lawley.

Round 3: Righetti in Kostek’s ear “Gotta get your respect out of her! Make her respect you!” Cam out of corner, guard high but flatfooted for first time, Lawley right at her. Kostek not bouncing but still using speed and elusiveness, slipping side to side and confounding plodding big girl. Lawley repeatedly trying to land big right hand lead and either missing or crashing into Kostek guard. Cam fighting tactical fight, frustrating Godzilla, goading her into taking chances. Late in round big girl winded, throws right hand and slow bringing it back - Kosten with a clapping left hook to the temple and BIG GIRL DOWN! Lawley dropped to seat of her pants … scrambles to get up … stunned and sheepish. Bonzo corner counseling Cam “Nothing crazy - fight your fight …” does not want knockout fever against this mountain of a female. Blonde peppers brunette with jab - drives her back to ropes - then pounds body with both hands, banking damage for later in the fight. Big round for Camille!

Round 4: Camille Kostek asserting herself, slowly ratcheting up the pressure. In … left right left to body, tempe and jaw … then back out! Lawley visibly frustrated by smaller blonde’s elusiveness, swinging and missing wildly - and any fighter will tell you that nothing is more tiring than swinging and missing … the jolt to the shoulder joint when punch fails to hit anything.and Kostek seems to be always these - counterpunching over the misses. Increasingly hitting big girl with power shots - again putting a shimmy in the knees. Lawley lands cuffing one two and tormentress diengages - discretion the better part of valor as she banks another dominant round! Camille Kosten up 3 rounds to 1 and threatening to pull away.

Round 5: Lawley gets the “Yer blowin’ it kid” speech in corner - McGee urging “Wake up, dammit, Robby , yer’ sleep walkin’, girl!”. Ice on the neck and fire in the belly - Lawley out of corner, Kostek meets her mid ring. Trade of jabs - both land, bigger girl with more thump. Cammie moving on toes, slashing with punche while Robyn flat footed and landing heavy handed shots. Back and forth, both girls dishing damage. Most ringsiders see the round as even - meaning Lawley has at least stemmed the tide - Kostek was threatening to run away with this one.

Round 6: Nadia Bjorlin chiding Kostek “Do not let her back in this fight!” - Cam out of corner with laser focus. Right at Goliath … and get rung up! Straight right hand has Kostek stepping in fence holes - stiff legged - eyes disorganized. Looks to clinch but Godzilla walks her back to ropes and breaks out the baseball bat. Big shuffling lefts and rights blasting biceps, ribs, temples - thudding shots are trembling Kostek. Gamely fires back with left right left combination but the shots to the biceps have her arms cramping and have robbed her of her hitting power. Big round for the big girl Lawley!

Round 7: Righetti talking in the corner now “You’re still ahead - move! Lose the round if that’s what it takes but no trading with her, got it Cam? We’ll come back on her later”. Blonde up on her toes … getting leggy … still has the foot speed to frustrate the slower Lawley. Not looking to do much … using that jab as spacer … maintain distance … buying time to … BOOM! Lawley times her … cuts ring .. and blasts big left hook to the chin. Kostek stumbles back half step … and drops to all fours! BLONDE GIRL DOWN!!! Lawley to neutral corner … ref counting … Kostek with eye contact … at seven she tenses muscles and surges … and falls to her side … legs not there! Count passes and it is winner by a knockout in the 7th round … Robin “Godzilla” Lawley!

Postfight: Lawley with sportsmanlike visit to Bonzo corner to check on Kostek, who is on stool but able to rise for handshake … of course, not ALL of the Sceej fighters are known for sportsmanship! Jenny Mac from ringside loudly calling “Walk her, you big dummy!”. Big Bad Gena Lee Nolin smirking at Big Rig “that a LOT of woman, huh Red? (referring to Lawley’s size) … you gonna deal with that?”. Righetti returning Nolin smirk - Big Red has NEVER been accused of ducking anyone!
