SHAY MITCHELL VS LILI REINHART

Results: Lookout Writing; Archer

Shay: 35 YO, 5’7 ½ (1.71 m), 37-32-0, 35 KO since 2011 Pretty Little Punchers Inc

Lili: 25 YO, 5’6 (1.68 m), 27-2-0, 27 KO since 2018 Front Street Gym

Before: “I have wanted a rematch ever since Lili got that TKO on me in 2019. She is good, but I know I am better,” Shay Mitchell insists before the fight.

“I am happy to fight Shay again. Beating her helped prove I could win outside of the Asylum Street Arena. I am perfectly willing to do it again,” Lili Reinhart says.

“You may be willing, but you wont be able to do it again,” Shay warns.

“I like my chances. I beat a former champion in Rachel McAdams last time out. I will take care of another veteran when I beat Shay—again,” Lili said.

“More likely I will be taking care of you,” Shay insisted.

“We will just have to settle this in the ring,” Lili said with finality.

“Oh, we will, we definitely will,” Shay added with equal finality.

The tension may not be high as the two fighters meet in the ring, but it is definitely there. Lili Reinhart removed her robe first. She is in a whit and green checked bikini with green gloves an boots (white laces). Hair pulled back in a perky ponytail. Shay then removed her robe she is wearing a off-the shoulder black bikini top and matching high waisted black bottoms. She has black gloves and boots with white laces. Shay’s hair is in a battle braid down her back. Chill between the two fighters clear, but referee keeps order to get through the instructions. Hard SMACK! as the gloves are “tapped” and then the two fighters go to their corners. Tense wait ends as the bell rings. It’s on!

R1: Shay striking at Lili from long range, snapping quick rights and lefts off the blonde’s jaw. Then Shay moves in closer alternating between chin and stomach with shots that grow rapidly in power. Lili trying to counter, but getting knocked off balance by Shay’s rapid-fire attack. Lili retreating, trying to get her defensive jab going, but Shay now moving around her firing clouts to the side of Lili’s head. Lili looking shutdown as the round ends and Shay seems pleased at her work as she wins the round wide.

R2: Lili looking much better this round. As Shay comes back at her, Lili is ready with solid blows to Shay’s jaw and cheekbones. Shay’s initial attack quickly falters as she’s the one getting knocked off balance. Lili starts pumping hooks into Shay’s abs and ribs. Shay trying to counter to Lili’s body, but then gets whacked hard by an unexpected right to the jaw. Shay fallingShay back on shaking legs, gloves up high to block follow-up head shots, but Lili how hooking Shay’s midsection with fresh determination. Rounds ends with Shay hunched up and Lili Reinhart winning the round wide.

R3: Shay and Lili in the center of the ring, taking turns early as they dart in and out for quick punching flurries. Then Shay manages to get Lili to bite on a feint and brings her big right hand into Lili’s jaw with maximum impac. Lili lurching away from the blow, Shay moving with the reeling blonde and punching her back into the ropes. Lili trying to avoid the ropes, slides along the strands as Shay stays with her. Shay hammering at Lili’s exposed flank, trying to trap her and finally gets her pinned. Lili takes a seat on the ropes, hunches up and endures Shay’s furious punching. Lili braces herself and is able to stay up to the bell, but she absorbed a lot of Shay Mitchell leather. Lili moves slowly to her corner as Shay chalks up another round won wide.

R4: Shay moving in hard on Lili as the new round begins. Shay really working Lili to the body as now her breasts are being worked over, too. Lili trying to get away from this pressure, but also avoid another session on the ropes. Two are maneuvering around each other with Shay landing more punches and she is shaking Lili up with more bell-ringing head shots. Lili obliged to duck down behind her mitts and just try to hold on. Shay working Lili over to the bell and adds another wide win to her side of the judges’ cards.

R5: It’s been two tough rounds for Lili Reinhard but she now rallies as the 5th stanza commences. Lili moves out fast, ducks down as she nears Shay and then pops up with a BOOMING right uppercut that snaps Shay Mitchell’s head back and sends her stumbling backwards, barely able to keep from falling down. Lili snow driving straight rights and lefts into Shay’s face, busting the brunette up until Shay can get her gloves up. Lili now pouring vengeful hooks into Shay’s body, forcing her to all back towards the ropes. Shay trying to use her jab to slow down the rampaging blonde, but it’s not stopping the body busting. Shay finally driven into the ropes and now she’s the one all hunched up in misery as Lili methodically works her over to the bell. Shay looking gray-faced and rubbery legged as she peels herself off the ropes. Lili smiling, seems quite pleased with herself after this comeback round.

R6: PLP corner making frantic efforts to get Shay ready. Trainer Nia Peeples looking concerned as she talks to Shay, but Shay appears to be insisting “I am NOT quitting on my stool. You hear me! I am NOT quitting!” Nia nods, but looks troubled. The bell rings and Shay heaves herself off her stool and makes a charge at Lili with the evident intention of regaining control of the fight. However Lili puts a fast stop to this. She smashes Shay with the ol’ one/two: right cross/left hook combo to the jaw. Shay’s charge ends abruptly as a numbed brunette stares at Lili who BLASTS Shay with a right to the jaw! DOWN GOES SHAY! Shay knocked off her feet, topple onto her side and lays there stretched out, groaning. Lili hastens to the neutral corner. Referee moves in. Shay is stirring, she rolls onto her and tries to push herself up on all fours, but she suddenly trembles and collapses down in a heap.

“NINE!...TEN!...YER OUT!” cries the referee.

THE WINNER LILI REINHART DEFEATS SHAY MITCHELL KO6!

After: “This was a very good win for me,” an exited Lili Reinhart tells the press after the fight. “I proved my first win over Shay was no fluke. I beat her again and that feels great. She is one tough fighter, but I am now beating tough fighters and I can see a title shot in my future!”

As for Shay Mitchell, she speaks with press later, after her medical exam has cleared her: “I won’t kid you: this was a painful loss for me. I was beating her and then the roof fell in during the 5th. No, I am not sorry I insisted on going out there in the 6th Maybe I should have been more defensive than I was, but I would rather go down fighting than quitting on stool. I will tell you, Lili Reinhart is for real and her future opponents better realize that!”

As Lili Reinhart herself said: this was a very good win for her as she defeated a hard fighting veteran in Shay Mitchell. Lili spent a lot of time in the friendly confines of the Asylum Arena, but this should dispel any notion that she is not “for real” as a bantamweight contender. We expect to see her continue her rise in the Bantam rankings with a title shot her ultimate reward. Meanwhile, Shay Mitchell, while certainly suffering a disappointing loss, is still someone who can take on younger bantams and win. She didn’t against Lili Reinhart, but foolish would be the young bantam who doubts her.
