Madison Beer vs. Madison Iseman

Results: Lookout!; Story: Front Street

Battle of the Madisons features Beer, a brunette beauty who got off to a hot FCBA start, but is now looking to break out of her first FCBA slump, and Iseman, who looks like the classic cute little blonde that gets eaten alive in the FCBA, but has proven to be anything but by starting her career with solid wins over former champ Jessica Simpson and Hayley Orrantia. But, if Beer is impressed with Iseman, well. She's not letting on. "She's got ZERO chance tonight," says the brunette. "She's not good enough. And, she's not physical enough. Tonight, she gets her first taste of FCBA reality!"

"It's nice to see Beer so confident," says the blonde with a shake of the head. "That's going to make what I do to her tonight even SWEETER."

ROUND ONE:

Beer's got some reach here, as she often does, being a tall flyweight, and she makes good use of it early. She's snapping out the jab, moving the feet, looking to keep Iseman at range, and she's mostly getting that done. Blonde is working hard to try to penetrate. She doesn't want to get in the phone booth, but get to middle distances where she can get off. She manages it here and there, but, mostly, it's the brunette Madison who's getting the terms she wants, but, to her credit, the blonde Madison is minimizing the effects. She's defending well, blocking and slipping some of the fire coming her way from the brunette. But, when you add it all up, Iseman simply isn't getting enough work done. When the bell rings, it's Beer who's claimed the points and the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Iseman figuring this out. She's found ways to slip and block Beer's jab, and now she's using those tactics to slip forward inside the brunette's defenses and get off in combination from middle distances. All of a sudden, the geometry isn't what Beer wants, and the brunette's immediately struggling as a result. She isn't hurt, but she's taking steady fire that continues to toss her onto the defensive. Attempts to get the range she wants fail as Iseman continues to get to her spots and fill the air with hard, accurate fire. Beer's all out of sorts, and it just gets worse as the round goes on. By the final thirty seconds, she's just covering up as the blonde gets off, waiting her turn, but her turn never comes. Instead, Iseman continues to give her a thumping right to the bell, grabbing the round wide and evening things at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Iseman continuing to get the better of things. She's gotten the distance and angles down. She's where she wants to be and doing what she wants to do. Beer, meanwhile, remains off her feed. She can't get anything going and is getting both punished and frustrated. By mid-round, however, the brunette begins to get a little of her own back. She's, perhaps, hearing what the corner's screaming, "MOVE". And, she starts moving. She's giving some ground here, circling there, creating space with the feet that she can't create with the jab. And, all that movement leads to time. Time to double up that jab, to use it to keep Iseman off and then GET off in combination. It's a different Madison Beer in the final minute. This is the girl we saw in the first round. She's getting her offense on. And, she's taking control as the bell rings. But, it's too little, too late for the third. Iseman takes the points narrowly to lead 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Beer consolidating gains. SHE'S the one doing the frustrating now. The blonde is working hard to close, but she can't get it done. Instead, the brunette remains at range, snapping those jabs in Iseman's face and then following with hard right hands. At times, the blonde is forced into retreat when what she wants to do is advance. But, she can't get that done. And, as for Beer? She can get anything she WANTS done for the moment. She's got absolutely everything rolling, as she peppers the shorter woman with hard, accurate shot. By the final minute, Beer's got Iseman in a more consistent retreat, punishing her to the head and even working a little body in spots. The blonde Madison? She's Googling like wild, but she can't find any answers. At the bell, it's Beer, wide. And, we're even at 38.

ROUND FIVE:

Click. OK! That's what I'm looking for! Iseman finds some answers. And, they involve keeping the guard up and the head tucked. Now, she's blocking and slipping and dipping and moving forward and getting to spots where she can get off in combination. But, it's not all seashells and balloons. Because, Beer's having her own successes. She's staying in motion, working the jab, and, when she lands it, quickly following on with right hands. So, everybody's getting some of what she wants, but nobody's getting enough of it to suit. Result is a good, two-way round in which neither fighter is able to gain any sort of advantage. Any. Sort of advantage. As the final seconds tick off the clock, it's as even as can be, and, when the bell rings, it stays that way. Draw. And, the fight remains even at 48.

ROUND SIX:

Beer moving, giving ground, jabbing. Iseman with the head tucked, guard high, working the feet, looking to close. Beer snapping that jab, trying to get the range she wants. BOOM! Boom? BOOM! Iseman steps in, blocks a right hook, and ROCKS the brunette with one of her own! Beer wobbly butt! Iseman letting the hands go, sending the brunette stumbling backward, then DROPPING her with a straight right hand! Beer flat on her back as the blonde bounces to a neutral corner. Brunette struggles to her feet at eight. Ref gives her the mandatory and then WAIVES ON ISEMAN! Blonde a buzz saw, battering the brunette into the ropes and letting her have it, rocking her repeatedly with hard right hooks. Beer hanging on desperately, looking ready to go when THE REF LEAPS IN AND BUNDLES HER TO SAFETY! It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is Madison Iseman.

AFTER:

Iseman continues her hot start in the FCBA. "I KNEW I could beat her," the blonde cutie says. "She gave me some problems with her height, but, I just kept working and I GOT her." For Beer, the slump continues and questions begin to be asked. What's wrong here? The brunette looked like a serious comer, but now, while she's not reeling, she's also not WINNING. Can she get back on track? Time will tell.
