Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
The camera cuts to Ms Bella Thorne who’s seated at the press table backstage, red/orange hair hanging wild and loose about her shoulders, as she smirks at the gathered reporters and begins:

"I'm a big fan of Evangeline. She's obviously one of the best fighters around, even though she's way older than most of the girls in the league. That's hella impressive. But you know what? I'm a bigger fan of Bella f*cking Thorne!” There's that smirk again, as the cheeky Doll continues. “And since Bella wants another shot at the title, beating the number one contender tonight would be just what I need. And let's be real - there's no way I'm losing to a thirty-nine-year-old any time soon, with all due respect," Bella rounding off her comments with some lingering doubts about her sincerity with that final statement - The redhead ain’t exactly the biggest fan of what some may call ‘respect’.

Evangeline certainly not convinced at her words, questioning whether this younger woman ‘respects’ her fully and taking some time to gather her own thoughts before her turn at the mic:

“That's the difference between you and me, Bella. You lack discipline and values. That's what separates a champion from just another talent. I've watched her run through a lot of girls these last two years, taking down a lot of girls who don't really matter. And all she had to show for her efforts is the JMD title? Some of us are chasing the real gold, honey. I’ve been doing this for 15 years….I’ve beaten plenty of stronger and better fighters….and I can still beat Bella at 39. You’re pretty good kid, but you’re not part of the elite yet. And I’ll be happy to prove that to you tonight.”

Tough shots exchanged from either side, and the tension is palpable at the face-off photoshoot. Bella doing her best ‘f*ck-you-i-don't-give-a-sh*t’ bubblegum-chewing facial expression, whereas Evangeline is calmly glaring back, expressionless with both hands planted firmly on her hips.

Entrance to the ring later in the evening is also a deep contrast of styles: Bella blasting into the arena with fireworks and plenty of pomp, doing little to shed her extravagant personality. The slender redhead is clad in her usual sexy black bra and purple/black tights and matching gloves, her hair in a tight ponytail. Evangeline's entrance, however, only has a few flashes of silver and blue light before she’s striding down the ramp looking like a million dollars in a tight black sporta bra and black yoga pants - showing off that toned muscular body that makes her taller opponent seem fragile in comparison. Lilly is wearing grey boxing gloves, her dark hair in a high ponytail as she reaches the ring and hops inside effortlessly.

Girls make ready in their corners for this highly anticipated match up between old and new. Who will ultimately prevail?? HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action to find out!

ROUND 1:
One thing we forgot to mention is Bella's three-inch height advantage over the stronger and stockier Evangeline. It might not matter much in the long run, but it sure as well has an effect in this opening round. Bella is sure to have done her pre-fight homework, wanting to steer clear of Lilly's power when engaging. She does exactly that with intermittent jabbing at the older woman's face, landing hit after hit in some painful looking shots that sting Lilly’s face early. Lilly looking like the tired veteran she is, moving old so slowly especially when compared to Bella's feet, as though time is standing still and the other one moving like the Flash. Not a great round for the Lookout star when the first three minutes are up: Bella back to looking smug as she raises a fist to her fans, having done plenty of damage with her longer reach.

ROUND 2:
First round's always subjective, mind you, and we should do well to reserve judgement until both girls get a better feel of the other. Second round and we already see a slight change in the winds: both women keeping to their respective strategies but Evangeline keeping herself centered and defending more, instead of advancing recklessly and allowing Thorne to pick her off from afar. Thorne still gleefully shooting her long punches in, but her jabs aren’t landing her as many points this time due to them merely hitting the guard. Some occasional thumps do connect with Lilly's body, but they don't trouble the veteran due to their lack of power. Lilly finally unsatisfied with second fiddle in the second half, starts firing back her own long hand into Bella's arms, face and body, picking and choosing her shots. Most of the time, Thorne is leaving herself right open to counterattack: one moment she could be charging up a right hand, the next has Evangeline disrupting it with a sudden jab of her own straight into the nostrils. Thorne had better learn from her mistakes here if she hopes to go the distance. Round ends and Lilly recovers lost ground.

ROUND 3:
It's now up to both women to decide their strategy going forward. First minute sees a sudden lull in the action as they still hesitate behind their guards. Bella this time also keeping herself backwards and away, refusing to fall for the bait and switch. As a result, both ladies dance around each other in circles, with Thorne jabbing more frequently each time her opponent hints at an advance upon her. But it's clearly more defensive than anything else, with Bella certainly spooked after losing that last round by wide margin. Evangeline makes a mistake of her own in the second half, flinging a wide hook that everyone probably saw coming a mile away. Bella herself with eyes wide open, then composing herself swiftly and then ducking under it, only to snap an uppercut into Lilly’s chin which followed a flurry into the older woman's body. Redhead quickly gets the f*ck outta the way in case of a quick comeback, but that combination managed to stun Evangeline badly. Bell rings soon after, however, giving Thorne the advantage overall.

ROUND 4:
Evangeline centering herself once more, trying to remember that she’s the veteran fighter in the ring, and should be fighting like the voice of reason. She frustrates Thorne as a result with more of the same round 2 tactics, by keeping her center of gravity low and then pressuring the redhead backwards with small and deliberate steps forward. Bella almost looks like she’s panicking as her jabs grow wilder, more frequent, and more erratic, snapping into the middle of the arms but doing little damage. Instead, Evangeline shooting her hands inwards with both power and precision, on more than one occasion making the Doll grunt loudly when one of her cross hands slams hard into the middle of her guard, forcing Bella backwards. We’d say that neither girl really came out of this round with a clean advantage, but Evangeline is still showing us why she’s considered the favourite due to her level head.

ROUND 5:
That all changes in the fifth round as Bella suddenly gets aggressive. Maybe it’s all the propaganda that’s been mounting against her leading up to this fight. Or maybe it’s the incessant cheers in the audience for her opponent instead of for her own name - all that’s gotten her pissed the f*ck off. Thorne goes into Thorne-mode and starts hounding Lilly with jabs to the head from the very first minute. Evangeline is shell shocked at first, covering her face up, but then immediately smells an opportunity for easy target practice - she starts swinging back with blasting hooks of her own towards Bella’s face, but Thorne is miraculously avoiding them with a weave of her torso to the side or a quick leap backwards. Evangeline’s underestimated her opponent’s agility there, and pays the price for it: the jabs to her face begin to take their toll as she grunts and retreats, fending off more blows but then taking plenty of follow-up shots to the body instead. Bella running away with points this round, as she barely absorbs anything in return, before burying another double hook into Lilly’s sides just before the bell spoils her party. A big comeback round from Bella here, who’s managing to hold her own sauce with that brazen attack.

ROUND 6:
Evangeline’s on the ropes all of a sudden, both literally and metaphorically! And who could blame Bella from trying to end things? Redhead roars back into action, and first opening seconds of the sixth look like a repeat of the previous fifth, with Lilly simply covering up her head with both arms as she tries to get away from the onslaught. But the difference this time is Bella doesn’t have the element of surprise any longer, and putting herself in more and more danger the longer she stays in close quarters. Case in point, her own rapid lefts and rights obscure her own vision, distracting her just as Evangeline steps forward and times a right hook of her own perfectly into the Doll’s face, even before she even registered its approach! OUCH though - Thorne stopped suddenly in her tracks and looking butt-hurt and stunned, mouth open and steadying herself. She barely manages to block yet another hook from Lilly, that’s sent rattling into the side of her head. Evangeline’s still focused entirely on taking the fight back, by conquering the territory she lost with big, plowing hands to Thorne’s frame, ones that she knows the Doll cannot sustain for long. Bella’s vision must be blurry, or those hooks landing on her head must have sent her senses back to the stone age. She doesn’t go down to the canvas at the end of these three minutes, but it’s like seeing a plane crash in slow-motion as the once proud redhead catches fire and begins to go down.

ROUND 7:
It’s the last quarter of this fight and things couldn’t be more crucial for either woman to start taking rounds for themselves. Bella unlocking her primal personality and somehow still finding the burst of energy to charge at her opponent. If this were any other opponent or woman, it would have worked wonderfully. But this is Evangeline Lilly we’re talking about, who meets the Bella-storm head-on with bravado, calmness, and deadliness of her own. Bella sailing in jabs from afar, all the while keeping her distance, but she once again gets too carried away with her own success, takes one hit too many from Lilly’s thumping left and rights into her lean body, that roots her to the spot with loud grunts. A sudden wild exchange between both ladies in the heart of the ring has Bella trying to fend off her adversary, but it’s no use, even after she blasts Lilly repeatedly in the chin. But Evangeline swinging back simultaneously, hitting harder and luckier, as the Doll takes one hook too many to the cheek, sending her glassy eyed and swaying after her head’s swung in one direction and then the other. All of a sudden, Bella’s eyes are rolling upwards as she simply TILTS and lands face first down onto the canvas! Referee takes a final look and declares that it’s f*cking over!!

Official Decision: Evangeline Lilly defeats Bella Thorne via KO7!

AFTER:
Holy hell, what an ending! Evangeline Lilly putting away her foolhardy younger counterpart in convincing fashion tonight, and it looks like the veteran’s still got the chops to make it big, folks!

Bella Thorne simply lying face-first in a growing pool of her own spittle, eyes squeezed tightly as she breathes deep breaths, not moving an inch!

Evangeline celebrating most modestly once the referee raises her hand to make the result official. She keeps one hand high up in the air to acknowledge all those who supported her throughout this comeback performance. Later, after the ring is cleared and Bella’s unfortunately escorted backstage by members of her own team, Lilly remarks to reporters about her performance tonight: “Like I said, Bella is good, but she’s too cocky, lacks experience, and most importantly…lacks power. Put some muscle on this kid and she’ll be very hard to stop. A bit like me.” Lilly ends with a smirk before waving to the fans one last time and exiting the ring, adding another impressive win to her record tonight.
