SARAH CARTER VS HAYDEN PANETTIERE

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Sarah: 38 YO, 5’4 ½ (1.64 m), 58-36-5, 36 KO since 2003 Foxfire Boxing

Hayden: 29 YO, 5’1 ½ (1.55 m), 69-54-1, 52 KO since 2007, Foxfire Boxing

Before: “Yes, this will be my 100th FCBA fight,” says an uncharacteristically cheerful Sarah Carter. I asked Hayden to be my opponent. She and I have been stablemates for nearly 12 years. I will admit we have not always been good buddies, but we’ve been a Flyweight Division One-Two Punch. We also have a 1-1 record, I beat her in 2009 and she beat me in 2010. That’s a long time to wait for a ‘rubber’ match, but waiting has led to being my 100th. Of course, I also know that Hayden still thinks she’s better than me and I welcome the opportunity to show wrong she is about that. Still, I do appreciate her agreeing to this fight.”

Hayden rolls her eyes at Sarah’s remarks: “Considering how long we’ve known each other, I still don’t quite understand why Sarah gets so insecure around me. She likes everything to think she is the “Ice Queen’ who doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her. I think it is just her way of not wanting to admit she is insecure and hates to lose. Especially to someone younger like me. I really do respect her, but she makes it hard at times. I am hoping that I can at least punch some sense into her. I am sorry if it spoils her 100th fight, but she’s the one who insisted on fighting me.”

Sarah smiles icily: “I certainly did insist on fighting you, Hayden, because beating you will make it a perfect day…”
Come the night of the fight Virginia Madsen served as trainer for Sarah Carter.
Sarah was in a royal blue bikini with white gloves and boots (royal blue laces). Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. Hayden Panettiere has Jennifer Garner, normally Foxfire’s General Manager as her trainer. Hayden was in a purple bikini with purple gloves and boots (white laces). Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. The ring instructions were easily covered and the fighters back in their corners. The bell rang.

R1: Hayden and Sarah moved out smoothly to mid-ring and circled as they started firing away. Hayden darted in with a head twisting right to Sarah’s jaw. Sarah came back with fast jabs to Hayden’s chest and a hook to the belly. Sarah moved in closer with quick licks to Hayden’s chin, but then Hayden pumped a short right uppercut in under Sarah’s chin. Sarah fell back as Hayden swatted her to the side of the head with rights and lefts. Sarah hunched up and came back with shots to Hayden’s midsection. Hayden went after Sarah’s belly with a strong series of digging hooks that forced Sarah to give ground. Sarah tried to strike back with shots aimed at the head, but Hayden evaded most of the and kept up her body punching to the bell. The result was a close round, but went Hayden Panettiere.

R2: Hayden continued to work Sarah’s belly with the hook as the new round got started. She had Sarah hunched up and cramped in counters. Then Hayden went after Sarah’s head with bouncing right and left shots. Sarah was backing away, trying to present as small a target as possible, but Hayden now went after her side ribs as Sarah’s punching seemed to fade away as the round progressed. No surprise the round went to Hayden wide. Hayden was smiling at the break. Sarah was sullen as she went to her stool.

R3: Hayden came right back at Sarah as the round began, but Sarah coolly slipped to the side and gave Hayden a cracking right to the jaw. Hayden stumbled away as Sarah went after her with a well-placed fast shots to the face. Hayden instinctively covered up with her gloves and Sarah smoothly went to the body with driving lefts and rights that doubled Hayden up. Sarah then lifted right and lefts up into Hayden’s breasts. Hayden struggled to get her jag going under heavy pressure from the surging Sarah. Finally. Hayden was able to slow Sarah up with some solid jabs to the face, but Sarah then circled and counter-circle to keep Hayden under pressure to the bell. The round ended with Hayden’s face now badly discolored and swollen. Sarah was smiling grimly, she knew she had won the round by a comfortable margin.

R4: Hayden came off her stool with fierce look on her face, but she did not rush recklessly at Sarah as the two approached each other at mid-ring,. Instead, Hayden dropped back suddenly as Sarah was throwing her opening right. Hayden ducked under the right and brought her own right crunching hard into the point of Sarah’s chin. Sarah was thrown back on quivering legs and her gloves were flailing wildly. Hayden swatted Sarah’s head from right to left and left to right and then she smashed straight rights and lefts into Sarah’ s face, splitting her lower lip and blooding her nose. Hayden drove Sarah into the ropes where Sarah was able to cover up and remain seated as Hayden pounded away. Sarah was shuddering under the hail of leather, but she stayed on her feet. The bell finally ended the relentless bombardment. Hayden stood glaring as Sarah slowly departed the ropes and stood up. She gave Hayden a wicked smile and then went slowly towards her corner. Hayden scowled at the defiance as she marched to her own corner. The round went to Hayden Panettiere in a shutout.

R5: Sarah was worked on hard by Nia Peeples and her corner crew. By the time the bell rang to commence the net round, Sarah had been cleaned up and came out firmly. Hayden naturally went on the attack, trying to get at Sarah to the head with her opening punches. Sarah moved quickly to evade or blunt these punches, but she then struck back muscular hooks to the belly. Hayden doubled up from these blows and Sarah poured more into her opponent’s aching midsection. Hayden tried to then force her way forward, but this was brought to a jarring halt as Sarah brought a solid right cross into her chin. Hayden fell back on shaking legs as Sarah tried to ram her into the ropes. Hayden clinched to break this up, but she was worked hard to the belly by Sarah in close. Hayden pulled back and tried to keep Sarah back with the jab, but she was still in retreat as the round ended. Sarah had come back to win the round wide.

R6: Hayden showed stubborn courage in coming right back at Sarah as the next round began. Sarah made her work her way through a storm of jabs that struck Hayden hard to the face and chest. However Hayden wad rewarded for her aggression as she rattled Sarah a cracking right/left combo to the jaw. Sarah shuddered and seemed to freeze for a second. Hayden cracked Sarah to the jaw and side of the head. Sarah dropped back but then caught Hayden coming in with an answering left to the cheekbone that spun Sarah to on side. Hayden swarmed in pounding Sarah in the chest and ribs. Sarah battled back with counters to Hayden’s chest and ribs, They fought it out toe to toe until Sarah fell back at Hayden now drove hooks into the older blonde’s belly. Sarah fought on, giving ground slowly, but she under punching pressure to the bell. It was a close round, but the judges gave it to Hayden.

R7: Sarah sat on her stool during the break, She seemed focused on Hayden who was being worked over by the Jen Garner-led corner crew. Hayden was watching Sarah intently. The bell sounded and Hayden stormed towards Sarah, but Sarah moved quicker. Just as Hayden seemed ready to start punching, Sarah leaped forward and nailed Hayden with deep hook to the belly. Hayden doubled up with a gurgling groan and Sarah went after her to the head and face. Hayden floundered away, her face badly smashed up and she had her gloves up high to protect the wreckage. Sarah pounded belly meat until she had driven Hayden into the ropes and tried to bring Hayden down with a non-stop shelling to the body. Hayden was writhing under the bombardment, but she used the ropes to keep herself up even as she tried to protect her head from a knockdown punch. Hayden made it to the bell, but she her face was a bloody mess and she walked on trembling legs. Sarah gave the wrecked Hayden a cold look and then turned away. The round was a shutout: Sarah Carter.

R8: During the break Hayden seen begging Jennifr Garnr to allow her to continue. HJen finally yields to Hayden’s pleas, but ringsiders note she has a towel in her hand as the bell rings. Hayden lurches forward. The corner crew has clean away the blood, but her face is badly swollen with overlapping bruises. Yet Hayden heads for Sarah Carter as though hoping she can turn this fight around with one well-aimed punch. Sadly for Hayden, the well-aimed punch comes from Sarah Carter. She makes a feint to right to draw Hayden attention, but strikes with a left hook to the chin. Hayden rush becomes a stumbling lurch and Sarah now brings a right uppercut in under the chin. Hayden’s head snaps back and the rest of her body follows. Hayden lands on her back, arms at her sides and her eyes tightly closed. Sarah moves quickly to the neutral corner and watches as the referee starts his count. Hayden does stir and tries to push herself up, but she is just sitting up with a blasted look of shock on her face as the referee is saying:

“NINE!....TEN!....YER OUT!”

THE WINNER SARAH CARTER DEFEATS HAYDEN PANETTIERE KO8.

After: Sarah Carter’s reaction shocks a lot of people. She falls to her knees and bursts into tears! She looks up with a huge smile on her face as the tears of joy run down her cheeks. Virginia Madsen comes over and helps Sarah to her feet. They share a big hug and then go over to check on Hayden Panettiere who is on her feet, but being held up by Jennifer Garner.

“You gave me a championship fight, Hayd, thank you,” Sarah says, then adds. “and the next time your trainer tells you to quit—listen her.”

“You know that’s me, Sarah, I go out on my shield not on a towel,” Hayden said.

“You would have in another second if you hadn’t gone down,” Jen said.

“Yeah, maybe you have a point,” Hayden said.

“Will miracles never cease,” Sarah said shaking her head.

“I think we better get you and Hayden back to the dressing room. You don’t look so good yourself, Sarah,” Virginia Madsen said.

“It doesn’t matter. I won my 100th Fight and I won it the hard way. I never felt better,” Sarah declared. Then her knees nearly buckled.

“Yes, I can see that,” Jennifer Garner said drily. “Come on, let’s go.”

So the Foxfire group departed the ring. It had been an exciting back and forth battle that gave the fans all they could want in a bout. Once again Sarah Carter showed she maybe an oldr veteran but she’s having a powerhouse who can beat younger veterans. Could there be a title shot in her future? Her fans certainly hope so. Meanwhile the defeat was not all pleasant for Hayden Panettiere, but not disgrace either. How well she bounces back from this loss should be evident in her next fight whenever that comes.
