BEFORE: Cat! Cat! Can you still handle girls as big and strong as Moon Bloodgood? "I saw holes in Moon's game when she tried to step up against Katherine," Bell asserts in answer to shouted media-questions. "I saw the strength, but I saw a lot of sloppy technique and tunnel-vision when it comes to power. To answer your question - I'm not going to beat this girl in a clinch-fight or arm-wrestling bout...but I'll definitely cause problems for her in a boxing match!" Important fight for Moon: promising new welter doesn't want to show back to back losses against big-girl veterans. "I stumbled against Heigl," Moon admits in prefight, "but that WAS on the heels of some good performances. I don't think of it as a setback: I think I came out of that fight better than I went in, and that's bad news for Cat Bell fans!" Moon in cobalt blue cotton two piece; white gloves; loose tangles. Catherine in red cotton jockey two piece; black gloves; shoulder length, glossy black locks loose n' straight.

During R1: Girls slap left hands midring as they circle counter-clockwise, then settle into gun-platform stances. Pumping jabs from Moon pound Cat's left breast/pec: Return jabs from Bell spank face with authority. Both girls keeping right hands beside chins in protect-mode: both turning the odd clouting hook into opposing racks. Thumping stuff: Moon out-punching Cat via superior weight of shot in methodical minutes.

R2: Cat showing peek-a-boo early: Moon unloads a sidearm right into Bell's left bicep...instant cringe of pain as Cat steps away, left arm flopping to hip like a boneless flipper. Cat to ropes, moving right hand to left cheek - left arm useless at her side: she's a damaged beauty bobbing and rolling ropeside, taking the beating of a lifetime. Nothing fancy: Moon stepping-to, squaring away - unleashing wallop from ready-position of fists grouped beneath her chin. Clobbering lefts and rights bash poor Cat: Bell rocked - frequently sagging against ropes to moans of crowd-sympathy...veteran relies on every ounce of guile and pride to ride out one of the worst second rounds of her career. Bell: Moon staring in furious awe - trying to will Cat to her knees as Bell sways in stupor against cables.

R3: Cat regains use of left arm...still tentative throwing it - showing a lot of elbows-in peek-a-boo. Moon pressing the attack - pounding prepared defences with heavy left jabs; stepping close; getting off robusto via clobbering left/rights head-and-shoulders on Cat. Bell routinely slugged out of her guard, exposing legendary rack to predatory clean-up hooks: Bloodgood savagely at Cat's jugs. Down the stretch - Cat able to strap Moon some sidearm, ringing right hands ear-to-jaw: Bloodgood's steady advance finally halted as Bell slugs for respect.

R4: Oh that crafty Cat: HOF brunette gets world-class legs in the fight, problematizing things for Moon. Cat slide-stepping back to create gaps; crouching; easing left shoulder into Bloodgood's advancing chest and pushing her off. Cat showing the jab, sliding back, walking Moon into limber check-hooks, ducking under angry Bloodgood rights to come back up and clinch. Patient punch-n'-clutch employed by Cat - just vexing and frustrating Moon: down the stretch, impatient Bloodgood walks into a drifting right cross - buckling her knees, startling her at bell. BREAK: Moon's corner grudgingly admits Cat's taking a better punch than expected - giving Moon the greenlight to work Cat's midsection.

R5: Grim Bloodgood pursuit sees her walk Cat down, then bash ribs/waist via clubbing, palm-down right/lefts. Bell grimacing, shaken by Moon's thump, then answering right uppercuts thick to stomach. Bashing hammer and tongs - Moon punching her way forward, moving Cat back: Bell stepping to spots, rallying, answering. Brutal attrition - Moon grunting upon receipt of jagged left uppercut to sternum - walking through it to maintain bashing pressure against Cat's torso. Touch of rope at her backside galvanizes Cat late: she's slugging furiously, turning into short, walloping lefts and rights, toe-to-toe! Moon in slight stoop - dipping and slugging-with - willingly swapping lefts and rights with rangy Cat. BELL GOBBLES HOOK! Shattering blast - Cat caught hooking herself - sickening head swivel as Bell's body shuts down/legs give way...she slumps into ropes, hands dropping, head lolling. Moon mounting a clean-up barrage of tidy hooks and crosses against Cat's defenceless rack: murderous punishment totally uncalled for as Cat's out on her feet, en route to canvas, just shippin' it tragic to those mouthwatering jugs. Bell slow-spills into canvas, rolling onto her belly fast asleep: KO5 in hamfisted fashion - Moon Bloodgood!

After: Moon rebounds after Heigl - claiming a first-ballot hall of famer via application of main force. "Caught her slugging," Moon shrugs in postfight, "switched her off. She's still cagey, but she can't escape pressure. In Cat's heyday at lightweight, she was used to coming forward and beating down all opposition: that just won't happen up here. She needed to box, but just as that started working for her, I pounded her body and took away her legs." When asked about the brutal pounding of Cat's fabled rack - Moon is non-commital: "I was just moving my hands," Moon contends, "if her jugs got in the way, that's not my fault
