SCARLETT JOHANSSON VS HAYDEN PANETTIERE

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Scarlett: 35 YO, 5’3 (1.60 m), 35-47-3, 27 KO since 2004. Unmanaged

Hayden: 30 YO, 5’1 ½ (1.55 m), 71-36-1, 54 KO since 2006, Foxfire Boxing

Before: Reporters at the prefight have questions for Scarlett J about her return to free agency. The FCBA veteran is calm about being released by the Knockout Babes.

“They said they were really sorry to let me, but it’s not like it hasn’t happened to me before. I just roll with the punches, so to speak and I will land on my feet like I always do,” Scarlett said calmly. “I do have to thank the Knockout Babes for letting me use their gym to prepare this fight. I am ready. As you might expect, I know how important this fight is to me: if I can beat a Hall of Famer like Hayden, could mean my latest free agency period could be brief. I would like to remind everyone that back in 2011 I took the Flyweight Title away from Hayden. TKO9, I beat her to a stoppage. One of my happiest moments in the FCBA! You know I am left-handed fighter. Hayden couldn’t handle it the first time. It will be the same story now.”

Hayden just smiles sympathetic: “Well, of course, beating me would be any FCBA fighter’s happiest memories, especially if the Flyweight Title belt came with it. It sucks that she got dumped by the Knockout Babes. I am sure it was business decision, but being the one they didn’t keep has got to hurt just a little. But don’t you worry Scar Jo—I’ll leave you with enough hurt to forget all about being shown the door. And as for your being a southpaw, that won’t work a second time, you can be assured of that.”

Scarlett makes a sour face at this remark and says: “I’ll see YOU in the ring, Hayden.”

“Happy to be there,” Hayden said with a sly smile.

Scarlett to the ring in black retro undies with high waist panties. White gloves and boots with black laces. Hayden to the ring in pink and white bra and panties. Pink gloves and boots with white laces. Both ladies have opted for perky ponytails for their hair.

Prefight ring instructions are cool, but correct. Tap of the gloves and the two fighters are soon back in their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Hayden moving out warily, but as she and Scarlett start circling, Hayd boldly steps forward and drives a sharp right into Scarlett’s mouth. Scarlett knocked back and Hayden moves forward, at first trying to get more leather into her opponent. Scarlett cuts to one side and sets up her defenses as Hayden comes back at her. Hayden bobbing and weaving, now striking with hooks at the waistband of Scarlett’s briefs. Scarlett feeling the pressure, backing up slowly and trying to slow Hayden with the jab. Then Hayden able to pop an uppercut into Scarlett’s chin, jerking her head back and putting rubber into her legs. Scarlett stumbling back, gloves up around her head as Hayden pounds away at Scarlett’s body as she drives Scarlett back. Bell rings before Hayden can get Scarlett into the ropes, but she’s done enough to win the round wide.

R2: Scarlett goes on the offense this round as soon as she can get out of her corner and clash with Hayden at mid-ring. Scarlett punching Hayd in the jaw and then some ripping hooks to the gut. Hayden rocked back and struggles to hold Scarlett off as she continues to press forward. Scarlett has Hayden protecting her head while working her to the body with a steady drumbeat of solid punches. Hayden not able to counter very much as Scarlett maintains the pressure by going at her side ribs and then swinging back for some jugg work. Hayden looking bottled up to the end of the round. Scarlett winds this one wide.

R3: Hayden responds to Scarlett with pressure tactics of her own in the new round. Hammering blows to the Scarlett’s juggs get things rolling for the Foxfire veteran. Scarlett trying to strike back at Hayden’s rack, but now Hayden fires in overhand rights and lefts to smack up Scarlett to the face. Scarlett’s grows protective of her now aching face and Hayden goes to the belly with a series of digging hooks that put Scarlett on her heels. Scarlett answering with the jab, but gets banged to the face once more. Scarlett backs up and Hayden advances behind more punches to the body. Scarlett trying to fight back, but she is hunched up with the gloves around her head as the round draws to a close. Hayden emerges the winner by a wide margin.

R4: Scarlett comes right back at Hayden as the next round begins. She uses her right to distract Hayden with driving hooks to the ribcage and suddenly the left strikes, catching Hayden hard in the left eye. Hayden backs away quickly and raises her gloves up to protect her head while an angry red swelling now encircles the left eye. Scarlett now hooking into Hayden’s belly with both mitts and she’s got Hayden doubled as she continues to retreat. Scarlett now uses her left hand to divert Hayden’s attention by feinting with it at her head. Hayden dodges only to have the right flick over her gloves and smite her in the right eye! Hayden shuddering, now being backed into the ropes by Scarlett’s steady thumping of her torso. Hayden huddled there as the bell rings. Scarlett steps back. Hayden leaving the strands looking shaky with now both eyes encircled by swollen reddened flesh. The judges give the round to Scarlett Johansson by a good margin on their cards.

R5: Foxfire corner working hard on the bruised area around Hayden’s eyes and do seem to have to swelling under control as their fighter comes out at the bell. Scarlett eager to resume her attack as she slams her first punches into Hayden’s midsection. Hayden lashes back and catches Scarlett with a strong right to the jaw. Scarlett knocked sideways by the blow, but quickly turns back to fight Hayden as she tries to follow up with more shots aimed at the head. Scarlett evades most of these head punches and strikes back at Hayden’s breasts. Hayden going after Scarlett’s juggs and the two of them then go at toe to toe with more punches to the body which now includes blows to the ribs and stomach. Hayden working frenziedly with those belly hooks and she gets Scarlett tipping forward. Scarlett then smacks Hayden hard to the forehead which serves to slow Hayden up as she ducks down a bit. Hayden trying some blows to the head and bounces leather off Scarlett’s skull, but Scarlett countering to Hayden’s melons as the round draws to close. Intense stanza is awarded to Hayden by a close margin.

R6: Action resumes very quickly as the bell sounds to begin the 6th Round. Fighters out to mid-ring where they now are circling around each other exchanging mid-distance punches. Scarlett using her right to pump hooks into Hayden’s stomach and ribs. Hayden trying to ignore to get her counters into Scarlett’s head. Things even for the first minute, but then Hayden tries to fire a head shot over Scarlett’s latest right to the belly. BAM! Scarlett’s sneaky left suddenly explodes against Hayden’s chin as she launches her right. Hayden staggers back and now Scarlett unleashes a barrage of punches to Hayden’s jaw and chin. Hayden starts to sag backwards and Scarlett strikes with the left at first the left eye and then the right. HAYDEN CRASHES TO THE CANVAS! Hayden sprawled in a starfish, legs spread out, arms spread out over her head. Scarlett trots off the neutral corner. Referee starts to count. Hayden raises her head (both eyes now nearly swollen shut!) and then lays back down.

“NINE!...TEN!...YER OUT!” cries the referee

THE WINNER: SCARLETT JOHANSSON DEFEATS HAYDEN PANETTIERE KO6!

After: “This was just great!” Scarlett exults in the aftermath of her win. “I said I really needed to win this fight and I did. Hayden was tough, but I was tougher—again. Too bad there wasn’t a title on the line, but, hey, I’ll take a win over her any time!”

Hayden not addressing the press tonight is helped from the ring by the Foxfire staff. She does briefly speak to reporters the next day with big dark glasses concealing the two world-class black eyes she’s said to be sporting.

“That was a good competitive fight. I had my chances, but that darned left of hers suckered me again. So good fight, Scar, and you can expect a gift from me shortly,” Hayden says with a touch of mystery to her comments.

Rumors soon circulate that Scarlett was sent a package containing Hayden’s bikini briefs from the fight now washed and pressed. Rumors add there was a note: “YOU BEAT THESE OFF ME TWICE AND GAVE ME TWO SHINERS THIS TIME! THOUGHT I SHOULD SEND YOU SOMETHING TO COMEMORATE THE EVENT AND GET YOUR LATEST FREE AGENCY OFF TO A GET START—HAYD.”

It was quite a fight. The battle went back and forth with Scarlett and Hayden trading winning rounds. Scarlett able to use her southpaw advantage to land the fight-winning blow in the 6th. Hopefully Scarlett will be able to build on this success and make her latest period of being managed brief. A frustrating defeat for Hayden, but, if the post-fight rumors are true, she is showing it hasn’t got her down very much. We expect her to back, as dangerous as ever, in a short time.
