WHERE FOUGHT: New York

Quote: “If you thought I gutted Heather,” Denis quipped in bad taste, “wait’ll you see what I do to Famke!”

SYNOPSIS: Famke is often accused of being technically sound, but predictable fighter, but on this night, the textbook would have all the answers. Working behind a crunching, paralyzing jab, Famke had her way with the shorter blonde, keeping Denise out on the end of the stick and lining her up for withering right crosses straight down the chute. Richards back (right) leg gave way in the second round, touching her knee to the canvas as Janssen deposited her first vicious right hand to chin. Another knockdown followed early in the third, sprawling Denise on her face, and the finale came during Janssen’s finishing run as Richards lolled helplessly against the ropes, An overly brace ref allowed Famke to land several overkill right hands, stretching Denise onto her side parallel to ropes for the KO3.

BEST MOMENT, DENISE: Coming off the canvas in the second, Denise rallied, backing Fanke up with a walking barrage of brawling lefts and rights, Richards was hurt, but very combative, snarling as she came forward to abort any notion of a Janssen finishing flurry.

BEST MOMENT, JANSSEN: Punishing Denise  against the ropes in the third. With Richards limp and helpless, her hands in her lap, knees bent—Denise’s head was repeatedly smashed back over the top rope, held in place by the cable across the nape of her neck. Sickening.
