R1: Although Barbara’s record is not the most impressive, her experience still allows her to gain the advantage and force Nicola back with punches to her head. She throws three successive punches into Nicola's skull, rattling her out of her senses. Then Palvin throws a quick flurry at Nicola's ribs, but the newcomer blocks it, and counters with her own attacks. They slam into Barbara's chest with little effect. Barbara, now angry, sinks a fist into her opponent's soft stomach, folding her over. She follows up with a hook to the side of Nicola's head that sends her to the ropes.

At the ropes, Nicola tries to shake away the ringing in her head, holding onto the top rope for support. Barbara approaches slowly. Though Nicola still has the strength to defend, she only has two arms when she has three targets: chest, head, and stomach. Therefore, punches slip in here and there, eliciting grunts of pain from the woman. The round ends with her still pressed against the ropes, but still standing, still in the fight.

R2: Barbara continues the assault on Nicola, continuing to slam punches into her head. Nicola tries to fight back with a few strikes of her own to Barbara’s stomach, but they do not do enough to stop her. The first minute is not even over, and Barbara already has Nicola fully defending, not giving her any chances to attack. This hegemony lasts until the end of the second minute, when Nicola finally finds an opening to strike at Barbara’s head, thus getting Barbara off of her for a brief moment. Then the two are back at it again, exchanging blows this time, but Barbara still has the edge over Nicola. She is able to force the newcomer to the ropes again, but the round ends before she is able to do much after getting Nicola to the ropes.

R3: Nicola seems to have found a strong desire to win, and is giving her all this round, going fast and hard on Barbara. Barbara is no slouch, though, and is able to stop most of her punches from getting through. Some do slip through her guard and strike her, mostly in the head and stomach. One manages to bruise Barbara’s right cheek.

The resultant rage allows Barbara to start fighting back, and the two are now exchanging blows instead of the attack-and-defense situation that had occurred before. Rage makes Barbara wild, though, and her punches, though strong, aren’t impacting their targets in the most efficient ways. Nicola is able to out-punch her opponent this round, putting them on more even ground.

R4: This round is also quite a close round as rage continues to fuel Barbara and determination fuels Nicola. The two are more evenly matched now as Nicola has found her footing, but she still lacks experience, and Barbara is able to slam more punches into her body. Exchanging heavy blows, neither of them tries to cover up much, and puts all of their efforts into attacking. This favors the rage-fueled Barbara, who is able to hit Nicola harder and thus gain the advantage this round. Over the course of the round, she does more damage to Nicola than Nicola did to her. It is evident on the contestants’ bodies at the end of the round: Nicola’s body is beginning to redden and she is clutching her head in pain, while Barbara’s worst spot is the bruise on her cheek.

R5: Rage fails Barbara this round, and having run out of fuel to burn, she starts flagging. Nicola is the one who gains the upper hand this round, and blows through her opponent’s guard easily, rocking her head this way and that with hooks and uppercuts. But Barbara is quite resilient, and manages to hang on while trying to attack.

Yet, even as Barbara tries to regain the edge, it’s clear that Nicola has clear control of the match. Nicola puts down any attempts by Barbara to regain the upper hand and continues to beat her up, now working her body over. Barbara’s the one who looks worse now; round five alone seems to make up for all the damage she did earlier on. Trapped on the wrong side of a beating, it’s all she can do to defend as the round draws to a close. For the first time this match, Barbara starts worrying. Will she lose?

R6: Though she tries to mount an offensive, it seems like she will indeed lose the match. Nicola even lets her do her combo, and barely flinches at Barbara’s “knockout punch”. Spent but unwilling to give up, she tries her best to last the round and hope that Nicola will tire herself out, but in minute two Nicola decides that enough is enough and sends her to the mat with a uppercut to the chin.

Barbara simply lies there, unable to rise as the ref counts her out.

Winner: Nicola Cavanis via KO6!

After: The founder of Revolution Boxing congratulates Nicola on her victory, and a baleful stare seems to radiate out from beneath his hood. Reigning champions, beware.
