Dani's She Devils vs Samia's Samurai 4

First up tonight will be two girls without a win. Southpaw Kara has been knocked out twice, and fellow southpaw Shiri stopped both times, so both girls appear a little anxious, Kara commenting, “I felt good last time around, but Amy is a durable fighter – Shiri isn’t!” The American counters, “Kara’s back hits the deck every time she fights! Sorry, Brits, but your girl’s going down again!”

Round 1

Kara starts well, her jab finding Shiri’s face quickly, and she follows in with some left handers as well, and she soon has Shiri covering up, gloves held to the sides of her face, looking unhappy at this early stage. Kara looks to land some bodyshots to loosen the She-Devil’s defence, but the girl defends those well, and she comes back at Kara in the closing stages, hurting the Samurai to the body with a hard left hook.

Good start for Kara – her round.

Round 2

Shiri looks to up the tempo in the second, taking the fight to Kara, but the Brit is quick on her feet, and she uses that speed to keep out of Shiri’s range, jabbing her in retreat, rubbing the older girl’s face up smartly, reddening those cheeks, until the more flat-footed Appleby pings her in the ribs with a left hook – that slows her down – then follows up, trapping the Brit on the ropes, hits her to the fleshy mid-section, then, lifting her head up a bit, bats her face to and fro with a series of crisp head punches, and it’s Tointon who looks shabby at the bell.

Round 3

Both girls red-faced, they trade head punches mid-ring, and Shiri seems to punch harder, forcing Kara to step back, and back, on the ropes – Shiri wants to batter her, but the Brit drops a shoulder, and she’s out of trouble, turning Appleby, thudding two right jabs into her face, and the girls arms fly up in defence, letting Tointon hit her to the gut, and Shiri is happy to hold Kara now, getting her breath back, before the ref parts them. Kara uses her speed to close Shiri down in a late round flurry, and her sharp little punches are bumping the older girl’s head around.

Kara takes that, moving back in front.

Round 4

Now Kara really speeds things up – she senses that Shiri may be tiring – and those jabs are finding that swelling face a very hittable target now, the right jab doing it’s job, fattening up the She-Devils lips, then the left follow up jolting her head around. Shiri is being worked around the ring, and Tointon’s punches are hurting her, bruising her, putting her on the ropes again, and the American is offering little in the way of counter punching as Kara seems to hit her where and when she likes, giving her face a very hard beating for the whole round.

Kara takes that round, too. Shiri is finding it hard to see out of two very swollen eyes.

Round 5

The ref is looking hard at Shiri, who looks about ready to drop here, and on storms Kara, banging her right jab again and again into that battered face, then she clubs the older girl with a left hook, and she’s slumped over the ropes – back turned, and over.

Kara Tointon stopped Shiri Appleby in round 5, to give the Samurai a surprise 1 – 0 lead.

Kara is jubilant, “Knew I could do it! My first win! I’m getting better all the time, and she couldn’t live with my pace! Come on Samurai!” A downcast Shiri mumbles, “Sorry Dani! Sorry She-Devils! I feel bad tonight.”
