I'll test her early with power - I'll be very bold with this one, show her I can take what I want, when I want. When a girl's struggling with her confidence, the best approach is to go at her hard and let her mind do half the work."

Pallicki looking tight lipped and determined: she won't be podium-bullied. "I know Alana's a smooth, polished veteran," Adrianna admits, "but hard-punching blondes have been solving sophisticated brunettes for generations. She's classy, but if she doesn't bring her hard hat with her, I promise she'll regret it. Whatever she's got in mind, it had better involve withstanding tons and tons of pressure. She says she's going to go at me hard? I hope she's serious. She'll need to just to survive, never mind actually winning this thing!"

During R1: Whacking, rangy right/left spanks Alana's waist: Adrianne makes the early statement, becomes the aggressor as wincing De La Garza circles away. Pallicki walking Alana down - feeling for her with the jab, then leaning in long, thumping right hands. Predictable stuff, but earnest and heavy-handed: Alana suffering several more shocking blasts via Adrianne's booming right down in the body. De La Garza carving hooks to avoid the shutout late, but it's Adrianne's heat.

R2: Adrianne again to Alana's waist that rangy, strapping right/left: De la Garza's waiting on it. Oily hook-receipt stripes Adrianne to chin: there go her legs; eyes suddenly moist with confusion as blonde girl steps in fence post holes. Alana over to offence, punishing Adrianne's long ribcage with payback right/lefts: brunette slugging blonde to ropes, then palming her upright. Digging gancha hooks work at Adrianne's liver, plowing in behind that right elbow: Pallicki grimacing, slumping forward behind her gloves, butt-in-ropes. De la Garza poised, relaxed, just putting it on Adrianne: Pallicki eventually able to clinch for ref's break. Girls reset at midring, but Adrianne visibly hurting downstairs: she's shy of Alana's punching - blonde girl legging the ring, getting herself together as brunette stalks her.

R3: Alana strong to her blonde - raking Pallicki a sneaky lead right to chin, then hooking her supple: De La Garza curling that left hand up and around, following through to her own right ear. Chin-clipped, backpedalling - Adrianne's legs give a shimmy and she's hurt - stooping forward in earmuff. Alana licking lips as she pops hips-right and hooks behind Pallicki's right elbow: sickening full-bodied CHUPP! sounds out as De La Garza digs in. Long minutes for Adrianne - she's stumbling around face-in-gloves, keeping elbows in tight: Alana stalking, shellacking the flanks, just breaking her girl down. Pallicki firms late, showing real heart: she bares her teeth, slugs toe-to-toe to back De La Garza off at the bell.

R4: Alana curious about Pallicki's body - jabbing it; trying it with long right hands; hooking it. Adrianne stoic - face tight as she's tested - leggy blonde just circling, trying to keep back clear of ropes. Alana stalking, but wary: Pallicki occasionally setting and leaning in with big right hands, demanding caution from her pursuer.

R5: Pallicki starting to come forward again - leaning in with lancing right hands to Latina chest and stomach. Downward arcing punches drawing winces from Alana - she's shying away, looking to curve in on Adrianne. Pallicki confidently forward - jabbing to keep Alana occupied, diving in with the right hands: big, booming punches don't always land, but Pallicki's willingness to pitch makes Alana wary. Adrianne the aggressor, takes points away from De La Garza as Alana's unwilling to exchange.

R6: More good minutes for Pallicki - those long, thrusting right hands to Alana's body have brunette hinky. Alana circling, scowling - spanking impacts off her front putting a cranky wince on her face as blonde steps forward. De La Garza doing a little trap boxing - covering up to absorb Pallicki's right hand, then answering back sneaky-quick hooks. Leads to some sharp, brief exchanges as Alana tries to renegotiate in stop-and-go action.

R7,8 Bitter two way fighting rounds as girls stop circling, looking instead to engage/impose will. Glorious shoulder-to-shoulder stuff - girls bumping off with the lead (left) shoulder, then whacking each other rangy underneath. Alana coming off body with that curling left, clipping away on Pallicki's chin. Adrianne leaning in with short, chopping right hands to chin in reprisal, but staying on the ribcage with succulent, hoisting lefts and rights in close. Hot n' heavy - neither girl really giving ground in heated exchanges. Alana takes the 7th, Pallicki the 8th in razor-thin margins.

R9: Little more distance between fighters by mutual consent: works to Adrianne's advantage as she starts dialing in right hands. Throughout the middle minute - Adrianne's strafing right hands test the De La Garza chin: Alana put wobbly butt, thrown over to the defensive as blonde starts walking her down. Final minute even worse: Adrianne stepping in with murderous confidence, bending into right hands and blasting Adrianne's chest/head with booming single shots. De La Garza getting her pretty head turned aside as knees buckle: she's grouping hands at her chest, trying to keep herself together, but Pallicki's simply slugging her stoopid through 9.

10: Adrianne pouring forward, eager to finish: grim-faced Alana sidestepping, drawing on veteran wiles to blunt blonde advances. Alana poking out the jab - good stiff, pre-emptive stick popping Adrianne in the mouth: willing blonde steps through it, anxious to engage. Wide-ranging second minute sees Pallicki chase Alana around, trying to bring battle: De La Garza fighting well in reverse - pivoting-left to turn Adrianne, deploying hooks to blonde body to slow the pursuit. Down the stretch, Alana's insistent hooking behind the elbow has Pallicki grimacing, flinking: De la Garza stays on the body, pivoting left around her stroke. Pallicki forward, trying to land something eye catching for the judges: Alana sets to hook, but comes up top instead...BLONDE GIRL DOWN! OH what a blast - Alana feinting downstairs, then arching her back to curl through Adrianne's chin instead: Pallicki blown to her back, suddenly a blinking, tender wreck! ADRIANNE BEATS THE COUNT! Young blonde blinking away tears as she reels at the ropes, but she's up: bell sounds before smouldering Alana can apply the finishing touch. Comes back one point duke - Alana De La Garza!

After: Heartbreak for Pallicki: she digs out 5 rounds from the veteran, but last second collapse gives Alana a hard fought victory. Beautiful De La Garza all scuffed up: she wasn't in with scared competition tonight.
