Before: Annalyne turning heads at flyweight: angular, long limbed beauty really making an impact at 110. "I feel like I'm the best fighter at the weight - right out of the chute - that boxing's ever seen," gushes Annalyne in prefight. "There's never been a fighter like me at 110. Hilarie Burton? Please: she didn't have anything like my speed or agility at the weight. Can't wait to start picking apart the girls like Kate, and move on up the ladder!"

Bosworth also excited: hot young prospects are often the most dangerous game. "There's no question that Annalyne poses a terrific threat," Kate admits in prefight. "She's very wiry and strong, and I know she's hurting the girls she hits. I've broken down her game on tape, so I'm very curious to see how this plays out when it's just us in the ring."

During R1: Action very leggy, brisk and rangy - girls criss cross the ring, taking turns spooking each other with sudden, darting assaults. Hardly any clean contact - both girls very adept at anticipating and legging out of range. Annalyne's jab probably a bit more constructive than Kate's in a close first.

R2: Similar stuff - girls roaming the ring, taking turns stalking each other. Kate stooping and jabbing Annalynne's flat tummy: good firm poke puts McCord in the hole as Kim scores early. No clean power punches land, but Kate walks Annalyne into a lashing hook at one point - blonde getting it sneaky off her back (right) leg during a tactical retreat.

R3: Annalyne adopts Kate's tummy-jabbing strategy: Mccord quickly in the lead after a brace of poke-n'-pivot blows land. Bosworth forced to gamble - runs into a right hand on the mouth that's probably the hardest single punch of the fight through 3.

R4: Rangy vixens continue to leg the ring, fence jabs, feint and bait each other. Canny stuff - both fighters twitchy in their stances - almost skittish: very difficult for either to line the other up. Kate lathering her hooks at points - putting weight on left leg and doubling up: she licks away at Annalyne's slender torso for more close points.

R5: Girls continue to flip-flop rounds: this time it's Mccord getting the extra touch, doing the extra work, getting the better of Kate in the closest of rounds. At one point, both girls miss a total of 12 punches - each just leaping at or bounding away from the other like a pair of sparring gazelles.

R6: Annalyne stalking Kate, slowly touching her up with a good stiff jab: it's the most consistent offence for either beauty thus far. Down the stretch though - Kate with a sneaky fake right hand, shifts weight to back (right) foot and lashes Annalyn a surprise left hook upside the jaw instead. McCord truly smote - sent reeling to her left, hitting ropes in a fog. Kate quickly pouncing-to: she's able to pour on a flurry of slender-limbed lefts and rights to steal the round away from bewildered Annalyne at the bell.

R7: Annalyne undaunted: she shakes off Kate's stroke, systematically takes the ring away from her blonde this round. Good stepping jab from McCord, punching into Kate's face and chest. Bosworth driven before Annalyne, thrown over to the defensive. Katie trying that sneaky check-hook off the right foot, but no dice as Annalyne's learned her lesson.

R8: Kate and corner make a conscious decision during the break: it's time to turn puncher. Bosworth gambling off her jab - stroking Annalyne slashing right hands followed by biting hooks: McCord crisply struck about her jawlines, punched onto her heels. Kate scoring again and again with rangy, two-beat power-stroking; Annalyne wide eyed, startled as Kate claps away. Lovely stuff from Bosworth - elbows in close to her body as she slaps Annalyne's face - shifting weight one foot to the other then pivoting around the scoring blows. McCord demoralized, but proving doughty: she's scuffed up and embarrassed, but refuses to bend her knee.

R9: Strong Annalyne punching a surprise: Kate bailing out of her stance, loping the perimeter as McCord proves well-conditioned. Annalyne hard eyed, baring her teeth: she's clearly hating the thought of Bosworth stunning her last round, working hard to fix that. Kate changing directions, proving brilliantly elusive - Bosworth loses the round, but evades all but glancing contact from hardworking Annalyne.

R10: Kate finishes the show - getting after Annalyne and giving her no chance to pounce. Bosworth jabbing Annalyne's tummy, then hooking her, then pivoting left: when McCord turns to attack, she's often met by a springy right hand up the middle. Bosworth willing to stay in range and put punches together: it's Annalyne who's backing off, circling around to regroup. Shutout Kate: veteran blonde does what she needs to do to secure a razor-thin single-point UD10.

After: McCord not taking the loss well - pushing Kate and causing a bit of a ruckus in postfight: Bosworth shrugs it off as youthful exuberance. "She got outboxed," Kate says in postfight. "That probably hurt her pride, because she thinks pretty highly of herself as a boxer. But she also got outfought, and that was the key. This thing was neck and neck when I decided to get after her, hurt her, and make a definitive statement. She never really got to me like I got to her, and that's what the judges liked."
