Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
Katheryn Winnick giving a short wave as she enters the press hall earlier. The blonde actress has bet big tonight in her rematch against Natalie Dormer, so there’s good reason why she’d appear slightly nervous after getting knocked out in six rounds during their last encounter in 2018.

"I've wanted this rematch for about 2 years now...so I'm glad we're finally doing this. Natalie beat me at the beginning of my boxing career after I started strong with 2 wins...maybe I was underestimating her, but she really surprised me. She's very quick and very tough, hits harder than you'd expect. But...I've had a lot of fights since then and I'm confident I can even the score tonight. She DID just sign with a new management and is already 2-0 for the year...so I'm sure she has plenty to prove and won't give me an easy time. Which is why I'm bringing my A game tonight. You're going down Natty!"

Dormer with that classic smirk on her face from across the table, a slightly condescending look as she tilts her head to one side, her long, shoulder-length blonde hair sliding down her face as she replies:

“Nothing’s changed for Katheryn. I exposed her back then, and I’ll do it again tonight. The only thing that’s different around here is me having my new management, and a new and improved training regime. Besides, look at me - I’m five years younger and two inches taller than Ms Canada here, so I don’t see anything in Kat’s corner tonight. Let’s just go and find out who’s better shall we?”

Ladies face each other down at the podium and we definitely like what we see: two blonde warriors on the cusp of their prime, still hoping to make a name for themselves at their age as they glare into each other’s eyes without missing a beat. Another interesting fact is that tonight’s match sees a British versus Canadian war going on with the two established actresses representing both sides of the Atlantic.

No catfights here in the opening ceremony though - both girls are saving their energy for the big show itself, as they break apart and head straight for their backstage doors. Ladies come down the ramp of the arena just hours later, Winnick dressed in a white and black sports bra, white tights, her blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail, whereas Dormer’s is bundled up into a Chinese bun up top, looking ravishing herself in a blue and gold sports bra and black long tights, looking slim and sleek as she bounces up and down on her way to the ring, her patented smirk showing full confidence in her ability to take down the aging Doll tonight.

Minutes later in the ring, Dormer’s blue gloves are bounced off against Winnick’s white, and the referee finally calls this match to order with a wave of his hand. HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Winnick starts off as usual smart, methodical, keeps her cool despite the need to avenge her earlier loss to the Brit. She marches out of the gate looking focused, throwing the first couple of combos at Dormer’s head, dictating terms early and showing everyone who’s in control. Dormer moves as fast and with purpose as well, but she’s wary of the Canadian’s stopping power and gives Winnick a wide berth in this first round, preferring to side-step and weave out of the way, or better yet, avoid Winnick’s attacks altogether. The Doll wades in to impose herself further, as a result - if Dormer ain’t gonna do the punchin’, she might as well be the one doing it - and Kat scores more fast one-two combos to the face to push Dormer back late in the round. Looks like a massacre indeed if we’re just looking at this first round as indication, but we all know that Dormer can fight wiley and smart when she wants to - that grin on her face as she returns to her corner is evidence enough of devious plans she has in store for the Doll.

ROUND 2:
Winnick’s a different breed of fighter indeed, especially when compared to some other Dollhouse members fighting on the card tonight - she doesn’t let emotions rule her strategy, and neither does she rule out all-out aggression if the fight calls for it. So far, more methodical pounding goes both ways, with ladies exchanging combos to the face surprisingly early in the round when they clash in the center as soon as the bell rung. Dormer biting back a little more spritely this time, using her leaner body to squeeze out those split-second, agile movements as she avoids another big swing towards her head before she connects with a tight hook of into the side of Kat’s face. It doesn’t stun the Canadian just yet, but it can’t be a nice feeling indeed to suddenly have the advantage slipping from your grasp. Winnick still not panicking, however, keeps coming forward a couple of steps at a time, shoving fists straight and down the middle into Dormer’s arms to try and nail the Brit where it hurts, eventually break her guard down for maximum damage, but Dormer gets away with murder as she scoots back out of range and continues picking and choosing her jabs from afar, manages to eke out a close victory by the sound of the bell.

ROUND 3:
So far, this fight doesn’t seem very different from their first encounter, with the two blondes’ contrasting styles making for excellent television but the fans left worried that Winnick might be on the same trajectory downwards. Dormer certainly thinks so - knows so deep within herself - flies into high gear to surprise Winnick with a barrage of punches towards her face, drawing tough grunts and yelps as Winnick suddenly has to scramble to intercept them all at once. Kat looks bothered as she takes another combo up into the nostrils, but she quickly rallies backwards, reforming her arms over her face to block the rest of incoming fire. She’s not going down THAT easily, she thinks, but doesn’t expect her foe to suddenly LEAP forward and NAIL her hard on the top of her head, that wicked overhand right from Dormer crashing in between the eyes and the older blonde gets WOBBLED!! OUCHH!! Winnick’s suddenly in panic mode as she fends off a renewed assault in the final minute - she can be as focused as she wants to be, but the same can’t be said about her foe! Dormer flashing a grin as she buries another glove into her paunch, a WHIPPING uppercut grazes the vulnerable chin and DOWN WINNICK GOES! The Canuck felled on the spot in a hail of flying limbs, as her back HITS the canvas with a loud THUD!! Third round KNOCKDOWN from Natalie Dormer, who must definitely like her renewed chances of winning this second fight!

Meanwhile, Katheryn staring up at the blinking stadium lights, looking dazed on her back as she ponders the meaning of her existence. But as the referee hits the count of 5, she slowly pushes her way back up, first making it to her knees, then her feet, before beating the count by the ropes by the count of 8. Close shave right there, and a sign of growing pains from the Doll as her entire demeanour shifts for the rest of this fight. If slow and steady ain’t gonna help her win this rematch, what exactly will do the job?

ROUND 4:
More pounding taken as Dormer sallies inwards, looking like she’s ready to end this, the lean and mean Brit taking pot-shots at her Canadian counterpart throughout the first minute by pushing her head back with clean and crisp shots to the face or repeated jabs to the cheek, further throwing Winnick into disarray. The Doll needs to adapt or die, that’s what we always say, and can’t afford to rely on her usual clean and mean strategy to put this old foe away. A growing sign of desperation indeed when Katheryn decides to CHARGE forward in the final minute, surprising Dormer with a big right hand to the middle of her arms, which doesn’t land on the intended target but at least stuns the Brit with a loud grunt. Dormer wasn’t expecting such a spirited counterattack at this point, and surely doesn’t anticipate the big bombs that continue landing all over her guard as she’s beaten backwards. Winnick’s aggression pays off till the bell rings: another double-hook connecting with the lean tummy, a third swing sent into Dormer’s wilting arms as the other blonde gets thrown to the side by Winnick’s power - it’s not enough to send her foe down just yet, as Natalie rotates halfway but finds the top ropes to save her flawless skin! Bell rings soon after, and against the odds, Kat manages to turn this round around and secure a close margin!

ROUND 5:
That smirk has disappeared from Dormer’s face now that she’s gotten a repeat taste of Winnick’s power, that cute, angelic persona all but gone as the British actress charges in at the bell, hoping to stake her line in the sand. Winnick, having anticipated this mad rush forward, turtles up and defends herself well in the opening minute, her arms and body taking a beating as Dormer lands nice jabs all over, but it’s all part of the plan to tire her out and make her do something reckless. Winnick waits for the opportune moment to strike: a snap hook catches Dormer clean across her pretty face, which stuns her with eyes wide open, then another takes her across the chin to punctuate the point, and Dormer goes stumbling to the side with a loud groan! This might be it! Winnick plays it methodical as she hounds and batters down the hatches, has Dormer exactly where she wants her as she pounds away with lefts and rights! Dormer’s in trouble as her guard falters under pressure, her upper torso half-turned about the waist as she TAKES yet another hook to the cheek, and DOWN THE BRIT GOES in a hail of loose limbs and louder grunts! Dormer falls face-down to the canvas, groaning as she tries to lift her head off the ground! What a beautiful KNOCKDOWN for Kat Winnick!

Round five and already this pair of blondes looks like they’ve been through hell and back. Winnick with little energy left to celebrate, quickly stumbles back to her own corner, trying to get as much energy back as possible with each laboured breath. Meanwhile, all the signs point to this match going the distance, with Dormer slowly but surely pushing off her chest, grunting as she takes to her knees, then uses the ropes to haul her ass off the ground. Referee hits the count of 9 and waves for the fight to continue - there’s five more rounds of action on the cards if these two can make it past another minute and a half of this round.

Dormer’s back is still glued to the ropes as Winnick advances, the Doll moving cautiously but in a straight line forwards, determination in her eyes as she hopes to finish this off before either of them break a leg for real, or worse. Dormer, however, barely puts up any resistance as the next few punches land on her frame in succession: Winnick drills a left-right combo straight into her body, folding her over in half on the ropes. Another one-two combo is aimed high and crunches into her mouth, drawing another strangled cry from the wilting Brit. Dormer’s arms doing an absolutely sh*t-shot of nothing as she flails about in the pocket, trying to defend herself from further attacks, possibly make it to the next round to secure her revenge, but a final nail on the coffin is a right hook sent across the chin and finally, the ref has seen enough, LEAPS in from the side to save the Brit from her own pride! THAT’S IT!! Winnick scores the revenge TKO victory!! Dormer melts into the ref’s arms as he waves for the bell!

Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Natalie Dormer via TKO5!

AFTER:
A panting Katheryn raising one arm in victory, a tired smile on her face as she makes her way to the center of the ring and takes a moment to catch her breath as the crowd cheers her on.
An important win indeed for her tonight as she avenges a defeat that haunted her ever since her early days in the ring 3 years ago.

Dormer meanwhile being treated in her corner by her team, as Winnick approaches and offers some words of encouragement. There’s no real ill-will it seems despite some early trash talk, and the two exchange another touch of gloves as a sign of respect.

Later on, on her way backstage, Winnick is asked by reporters to say a few words about tonight’s fight. “All I can say is that Natalie is still a dangerous opponent for anyone. She’s fast and agile, and she knows how to punch with real accuracy. I’m glad I was able to come back from that early knockdown and still show what I can do in there. If she ever wants a tie-breaker, I’ll definitely be up for it.”
The victorious blonde then high fives a few lucky fans in the stands before finally disappearing behind the curtains followed behind by a proud Carmen Electra and the Dollhouse team.
