BEFORE:

"I hear a lot about how much potential Tate has," says Liu with a smile. "Well. Potential is for the future. For tonight, she is not as good as I am. And, I'm going to prove it!"

"Liu is right about my potential," says Tate. "But, the only thing she's going to do tonight is clean the canvas with her back."

ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that is 'Supermodel' by Taylor Dane, and here comes the lovely Chinese supermodel Liu Wen!"

McCarthy: "Who is a TYPICAL Dancing Hooker opponent with NO FCBA wins!"

O'Dell: "Liu down the aisle and into the ring. She's helped off with the robe to reveal an azure number that has the crowd popping..."

McCarthy: "Philly. Low standards."

O'Dell: "Aaannnddd that's 'Vicious' you hear pounding through the arena, and here comes the singer of that tune, 'The Calgary Crusader', Tate McRae!"

Tess: "The word 'potential' was used a lot in the prefight. And, BFF, lots of talk around Front Street about exactly that when it comes to Tate..."

Cassie: "No doubt about it. Everyone at Front Street is very high on Tate."

O'Dell: "McRae into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping again for Ms. McRae in that admiral blue number of hers. And, the ladies are about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Tate. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins! McRae!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Unanimous again. Let's see if the ladies are right. McRae movin' and groovin' early, but Wen just going to set up at gunnery range and go from there. She's snapping out a long, accurate jab and managing to get home with it. Liu's got the reach advantage here, and she's making the best of it right now..."

McCarthy: "Sure is. Kid not getting past the jab."

O'Dell: "She is NOT, and that's allowing the Chinese beauty to control both Tate and the proceedings, at least at the moment. She's following the jab with right hands, keeping McRae at bay. Canadian trying to angle, slip past. She's getting that done here and there, and, when she does, she's scoring..."

Tess: "But, mostly, Liu's keeping her at range."

O'Dell: "Indeed, she is, and when the older brunette's able to fight on those terms, HER terms, she's getting much the better of things. Down to fifteen seconds in the first. Wen at gunnery range, lands a nice combination. Tate short with a counter and there's the bell. Good start for Liu, who takes it wide."

Cassie: "And grabs the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Even more movement from Tate now. She's slipping and dipping, head, hands, feet, everything in motion as she gets to spots and gets off. Liu trying to enforce distance. When she can keep Tate at range, she's getting the better of it, but when the older beauty can't get it done, it's the younger brunette who's doing most of the scoring..."

Cassie: "Tate is the most athletic fighter in the history of Front Street and maybe in the history of the FCBA, and you're seeing some of that now..."

McCarthy: "Most...in this HISTORY of the FCBA? You know J-MAC still fights in the FCBA right? I'M the most athletic fighter in the history of the FCBA! Bar none! And, I LOVE that candy bar! Siri, call my agent and get me an endorsement deal..."

Tess: "That candy bar was discontinued two and a half DECADES ago..."

McCarthy: "WHAT? Who's responsible for that?"

Cassie: "Hershey. Their world HQ is about two hours west of here. Why don't you go and complain?"

McCarthy: "I might just DO that..."

Cassie: "I meant right now..."

McCarthy: "You LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "Now, calm DOWN, Mac and let's keep our eyes on the ring. We're down to the final seconds of a very competitive two-way round. Wen with a nice flurry there, but McRae angles in, gets off with a SOLID combination at the bell. Very close. But, Tate's going to get the points and even things at 19."

ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third underway and the pattern set. Wen working at gunnery range, looking to keep McRae off. Canadian looking to slip by the jab to spots where she can get off in combination and DOWN GOES TATE! Oh, a straight right hand from the older brunette deposits the teen on her rear!"

McCarthy: "Most athletic MY rear! Just another failed Dancing Hooker!"

O'Dell: "Liu to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. McRae POUNDING the canvas in frustration at getting caught with that. Seven. Eight. Tate to her feet. Ref gives her the mandatory and waves on Liu! Wen coming forward behind that long jab now..."

Tess: "She's going to try to finish this, but she needs to be careful."

O'Dell: "Does, indeed, because Tate's looking a little buzzed, but not that badly hurt, and Wen knows it. So, she's cleaning up effectively, landing with both hands, staying on the offensive, but staying very sound. Final seconds ticking away. Good right by Liu and there's the bell. McRae shakes off the knockdown, but Liu takes the round 10-8."

Cassie: "And pulls into a 29-27 lead."

ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Wen in control as we start the fourth. She's working at range, using that long, long left hand to keep McRae at bay. Tate cautious right now after taking that hard right hand in the last stanza. She's still looking to angle to spots and get off, use all that movement, but, a little too tentative right now..."

Cassie: "Definitely. She's got to get back to being aggressive."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. She's moving well, moving a lot, but she's not busy enough with the hands at the moment, and Liu taking full advantage, getting leather on, scoring, building up some points. GOOD combination from Wen there. McRae fired back and landed a good right hand."

McCarthy: "Wen taking this kid to SCHOOL right now..."

O'Dell: "Well, Liu hasn't had a TON of FCBA experience, but she's been in the fight game for a long time and in the FCBA six years. This is all pretty new to Tate, who had her first fight three months ago. SHARP exchange right there, and Wen got the better of it. There's the bell. No doubt. Liu. Wide."

Tess: "And, Wen moves into a three-point lead, 39-36."

ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Now we're seeing more aggression from McRae as we start the fifth. And, I'm not surprised, because Neve Campbell was in her ear the entire time she was sitting on the stool between rounds. Tate back to the motion, back to the angling, looking to get to spots and get off quickly..."

Tess: "With the way this girl moves, she can make herself VERY hard to find."

O'Dell: "And, that's exactly what we're seeing now. Liu's managing to get the jab on at times, but, Tate slipping past just as often, creating geometry to her liking and letting the hands go. McRae VERY quick, and she's using that speed, which, as Cassandra Lynn knows, can be quite a weapon, VERY effectively now..."

Cassie: "Absolutely can, if you know what you're doing. If I can do things faster than you, YOU have a problem."

O'Dell: "And, McRae CAUSING some problems for Wen now, as we head down the stretch in the fifth. Tate getting into a bit of a rhythm for the first time since that second round. Five seconds to go. Nice combination for the teenager, and there's the bell. Competitive round, but it's McRae."

McCarthy: "But, Wen still leads 48-46."

ROUND SIX:
O'Dell: "McRae's got it going now as we move into the second half. She's slipping and dodging, movin' and groovin', getting off in combination, tossing the older brunette to the defensive. Wen having a TON of problems finding Tate now. McRae's not only here, there and everywhere, even when she's THERE, Wen can't get leather on..."

Cassie: "THIS is what I've been talking about. She had to get used to that length, but, now..."

O'Dell: "Now, she's taking control of things, fighting lead, and taking the fight to the Chinese beauty for the first time all night. Liu landing only in spots now. It's Tate who's in rhythm, putting punches together and piling up points. Wen has few answers right now, Mac..."

McCarthy: "But, she still has the lead. Just has to start locating again."

O'Dell: "Easier said than done, at least at the moment. Tate ANOTHER nice combination, forces Liu to back and cover. McRae steps to, tosses off another flurry and landed a SHARP right hand in there. Final seconds tick away. There's the bell. It's Tate and wide in the sixth."

Cassie: "And, Wen's lead is down to one, 57-56."

ROUND SEVEN:
O'Dell: "McRae upping the aggression a bit more, now. She's getting Wen on the back foot, and she's determined to keep her there. Liu giving some ground, wants distance, but can't get it. Instead, Tate not just getting to spots or middle distances now, at times, she's getting right in Wen's grill."

Tess: "She's definitely shaken off concerns about that right hand in the third."

O'Dell: "No question of that. GOOD combination by Tate backs Liu up again. Chinese beauty moving laterally more now, trying to work that gun platform, but the Canadian not having it and SHE ROCKS LIU WITH A RIGHT and DOWN GOES WEN AFTER A NASTY COMBINATION!"

Cassie: "Two absolute BOMBS in there!"

O'Dell: "And Wen looks like WRECKAGE, down on her back in the middle of the ring as the Canadian heads to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. No movement at all from the model. Six. Seven. Eight. Not going to happen. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Liu can't beat the count and it's OVER and your winner by KO7 is 'The Calgary Crusader', Tate McRae!"

McCarthy: "More luck for the Weirdo!"

AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Tate McRae, and, Tate, some adversity there..."

Tate (nodding): "Yeah. She caught me one, and that was on her, not me. Just a good punch. But, everybody gets knocked down in the FCBA. It's about getting up and what you DO when you get up."

Tess: "Speaking of the FCBA, you've been pretty busy in your first year, three fights in four months..."

Tate (nodding): "Yeah. And, that's the way I want it. I need rounds, and management is making sure I'm getting them. I'm learning and getting better every time out. And, I can't wait for the next opportunity."
