(Sorry man - maybe I didn't post this? Anyway - it's the same deal: my dice - contributor's words. Mgr of England wants to establish her in a bruising series against a veteran name, so he's offered to do the work. Pretty good arrangement, giving us a series we'd never have seen otherwise.)

BEFORE: "I'm determined to advance at Katie's expense," Jennifer says in cold-blooded tones, prefight. "She's aging; leggy, but small up top; rusty...I'm sorry, but her guard is down and I'm moving on her. I'm going the best of 7 route because I want to emerge from the conflict as a viable name: crushing Katie gets me that." Holmes composed, despite the apparent risk of engaging an unknown blonde in a grinding series format. "I need the rounds; I need the competition," Katie shrugs. "I still have ambitions in boxing, but I know I've let my focus drift and I need a hard challenge to get me back on track. Jen's a pretty nobody, true - but she's very fit and strong: working against her will recondition me in a hurry. I'll break her down - you'll see - then I'll move against my traditional rivals and re-establish the Katie Holmes brand better than ever!" Holmes in sturdy royal blue bra style bikini; white gloves; short, neck length hair; white runners/white socks rolled down. Jen in puncher's pink bikini; white gloves; curly blonde locks loose n' long; white runners/socks rolled down.

R1: Girls meet mid-ring, exchanging jabs, Jen taking a few quick flurries before working her way inside and unleashing sharp hooks to the head and body. Katie using her speed to avoid the majority of these barrages, countering with quick flurries of jabs and crosses. England undeterred, continually charging forward, relentlessly targeting Katie’s body, Holmes veteran savvy paying dividends, Katie opting to clinch whenever Jen works her way in close frustrating her. Bell : England clearly vexed, taunting Holmes for constant clinches, Holmes grinning on her way to the corner.

R2: Katie storms forward with vigor, working aggressively behind the jab, countering with left hooks when England closes the distance. Jen getting frustrated, circling, unable to work her way inside as Katie masterfully weaves away when she closes the distance. England getting sloppy, vexed by Holmes’ tactics, charging recklessly forward, eating rapid sequences high jabs as she lands a sequence of thudding hooks to the body. Katie covering up, clinching to avoid Jen’s barrage. Hard cross Holmes! England backs up, allowing Katie to unleash a sequence of high left jabs and right hooks to the body, Jen regaining her composure, storms forward with high flurries. Holmes unable to slug it out for long opts to retreat back to the outside. England in pursuit, teeth bared, right eye swelling from Katie’s hit and run jabs.

R3: Katie flies off her stool, quickly taking the initiative, peppering England with jabs to back her into the ropes, then flurries of high hooks to the head and breasts, forcing Jen to cover up high. Holmes herding Jen into the corner and pelting away at her guard. England ’s legs holding up but taking tremendous punishment. HARD HOOK JEN! England weaves around a low Holmes hook and unleashes a compact left into Katie’s abs, Holmes retreats mid ring, Jen charges forward peppering Holmes midsection with hooks, Katie weaves left unleashing an awkward jab, thumb coming across England’s eye, gashing it. ENGLAND IS STUNNED! Blonde bomber backing up, covering up earmuff, trying to shake the cobwebs. Holmes storms inside, for the first time tonight Holmes is willingly trading on the inside, peppering Jen’s guard with high hooks, HAYMAKER Holmes! Katie gambles with a lunging haymaker, flying underneath England ’s gloves and shooting her head backward, spit and sweat flying off her face, shot reminiscent of the first pop of a jack-in-the-box. Jen is hurt! England herded to the turnbuckles by relentless Holmes jabs followed by a peppering sequence of hooks to England ’s abs and forcing her to drop her left, Jen’s swooning, sharp hooks to the breadbasket second only to her rapidly congesting eye. Holmes relentless bobbing around England ’s desperate attempts to clinch and bombarding her with flurries of jabs and hooks to the head. Final seconds: Katie treating Jen’s head like a speed bag, rapid flurries of jabs constantly sending it shooting back, ref steps in as Jen leans into ropes, not answering TKO Holmes!

After: England blubbering in protest, complaining to the ref about the eye poke and that there was less then ten seconds left in the round, arguing that she could have continued. Holmes grinning from her corner, shouting out at England that tonight is nothing in comparison to what she has planned for the rest of the series. It's a more aggressive, assertive rhetorical style than we've seen from Katie in the past. Plenty of controversy in this fight, creating bad blood for future contests.
