BEFORE:

"It's been a while," says Krysten with a smile. "Now, I know Wiz pretty well, but, even I was wondering if he was DUCKING me after the last time. Well. I guess not. But. Tonight? I'm going to shake up the world AGAIN."

"Look," says Katy with a nod, "Everyone knows what she did last time. So, obviously, she can fight. What she is NOT going to do is beat ME."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "We're back at ringside, and that's 'Darklands' by the Jesus and Mary Chain, and here comes Bloomsburg's own Krysten Ritter!"

Cassie: "And, what the fighters were talking about in the prefight, in case you forgot, is that the last time Krysten was here, she pulled a HUGE upset on Gemma Arterton..."

McCarthy: "Making me absolutely SHOCKED that she's back here. Because, if Walmart is right about ONE thing, and it's ONLY one thing, it's that the way to get a return invite to Asylum is to LOSE to a Dancing Hooker..."

Cassie: "And, yet, here's Krysten climbing into the ring..."

O'Dell: "Ritter helped off with the robe and she's looking VERY good in that red number she likes. And, that's 'California Gurls' booming through the arena behind us, and here comes 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry..."

Tess: "And, considering Taylor Hill may ALREADY have knocked Perry off her perch as the top lightweight at Front Street, let's just say Katy doesn't want to become Ritter's second upset victim."

O'Dell: "Perry into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and she's got the crowd popping with her own familiar red number. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Perry. Mac?"

McCarthy: "I think the girl from a town that's not a town but it's the only one only it's not is going to pull another upset! Ritter!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "First split panel of the night and the ladies get to range immediately and begin working. No surprise here, as both are rangy and like to extend on their punches. Krysten with a bit of reach advantage, and she's using that early, getting the jab on, following with right hands..."

Cassie: "Krysten doesn't have Katy's power, but she HAS power, as she showed the last time she was here..."

O'Dell: "And in her last fight against Wallis Day, who ended up on her backside at one point. But, it's not about power for either fighter now. What we're seeing is tactical stuff, and, right now, Ritter's getting the better of it. She's winning the war of geometry and getting more done."

Tess: "Ritter moving very well. Agling. Getting to her spots and getting off. Perry's landing here and there, but not enough to offset."

O'Dell: "Not nearly enough. We're down to the final ten seconds of the first, and Ritter's getting the work done, as she has since the opening bell. SHARP exchange there, with both fighters landing a hard right hand and there's the bell. Krysten and wide to start us off."

McCarthy: "And, Ritter has the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Ranged boxing again in the second. Ritter with that length working the jab. Perry angling, stepping in a little more now, getting off in combination. Perry's got the advantage when it comes to power, and she's trying to bring that to bear, but Krysten managing that very well..."

Cassie: "If this girl had gotten work ten years ago..."

O'Dell: "Definitely has tools, and she's making good use of them. Perry to middle distances now, getting off with both hands, backing up Ritter, but Krysten quickly resets her front, gets back to the jab and follow. It's been a good, two-way round so far with no one taking control..."

McCarthy: "This is what happens with a girl with an actual WIN fights these Dancing Hookers..."

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in the second. Perry a good combination and Ritter fires right back, scoring with a solid right hand in there. Five seconds to go. One more quick exchange and there's the bell. Very, very close in the second, but Katy's going to get the points."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19 after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Pattern set in the third. Ladies at range, boxing. Perry closing to middle distances in spots, trying to bring that power to bear and RITTER NAILS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! Katy staggered and DROPPED WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT! Crowd going nuts as Ritter heads to a neutral corner..."

Tess: "Is she really going to do this AGAIN..."

O'Dell: "Perry down on her back. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Katy sitting up at six. Seven. Eight. Perry to her feet at nine. Referee going to give her the mandatory...and he waives on Ritter! Krysten letting the hands go, backing Katy into the ropes and letting her have it with both barrels..."

McCarthy: "Somebody go clean out Perry's locker..."

O'Dell: "We've got thirty seconds to go in the third. Ritter just bombing away right now. Perry firing back here and there, but mainly playing defense, doing just enough to keep the ref from stopping it. GOOD right from Krysten there and that shook Katy and there's the bell. HUGE round for Ritter!"

Cassie: "And, she's up 29-27 after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Ritter stepping to, backing up Perry with some heavy leather. Katy still doesn't have the legs under her, and Krysten taking full advantage of that. She's taking the fight to the younger woman, landing some sharp shot. Katy doing all she can to stay off the ropes right now..."

Cassie: "If we could rewind to 2010 and put this girl in stable..."

O'Dell: "GOOD combination from Ritter. Katy stepping in and tying up now. Playing for time. Ref breaks them and Ritter gets back to work. She's piling up the points and the punishment here in the fourth. Perry giving ground. moving some laterally, working to stay off the cables."

McCarthy: "But, she's down two and she's already lost THIS round. The Dancing Hooker is in trouble..."

O'Dell: "Perry seems to be getting the legs back under her as we come down the stretch. Good exchange there and Ritter going to back off on the clean up and get back to range where she can get her box on. Final seconds tick off in the fourth and there's the bell. Wide for Ritter."

Tess: "And, Krysten leads it 39-36."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Ladies back at range to start the fifth. Perry's got the legs all the way back and Ritter not going to continue forcing the issue. Result is that we're getting that good, two-way action we saw in the second round. Perry dipping in to middle distances here and there..."

McCarthy: "At some point, Perry's going to have to get after this girl..."

O'Dell: "Might just, because Ritter's got a solid lead and we're heading to the half. For the moment, though, Katy content to box with, and she's giving every bit as good as she's getting in this stanza. Nice exchange there and both fighters landed a hard right hand..."

Tess: "Ritter really getting the fists out and back."

O'Dell: "Definitely very, very sound and has been the entire fight. We're down to fifteen seconds left in the fifth. Another good exchange and Perry landed the best punch in that one. Ritter not hurt though. Five seconds to go. Ritter jabbing, and there's the bell. Close. Perry."

Cassie: "And, Katy cuts the lead to two, 48-46."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Two way boxing continuing in the sixth as the ladies are working at range. Blonde again stepping in here and there to middle distances to get off with some power, but, they're mostly at gunnery range, working the jabs, dropping in left hands off them. And, both showing plenty of skill doing it."

Cassie: "No doubt about it. Both effective on these terms."

O'Dell: "Sharp exchange and another! Both fighters landing some good shot there and the crowd popping. Plenty of action in this one, no doubt about that, and, there isn't much in it in this round, much like we saw in the previous round and in the second as well..."

Tess: "Ritter just VERY accurate with everything."

O'Dell: "No question about it. Katy steps inside the guard again, gets off with a good combination, but Ritter right back to range as we enter the final ten seconds of the round. Ritter bobbing the head, angling. Landing a nice right hand. Katy fires back and there's the bell. Very close again. Perry."

McCarthy: "But, Ritter's still ahead 57-56."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Ritter working the jab at range. Perry moving the head and feet, slipping forward to middle distances, getting off, but Krysten using that jab, creating distance again, getting back to work. Good stuff from both fighters again in the seventh round in what's a close one on the cards..."

McCarthy: "This gets to the cards and Ritter wins."

O'Dell: "Krysten a nice combination there, forced Katy to cover up. Perry right back after her, however, getting off with some heavy leather of her own. Plenty of tactical stuff going on right now, but there are a lot of punches being exchanged, plenty for the fans to enjoy..."

Tess: "No doubt there's been a lot of action..."

O'Dell: "Another sharp exchange there. Both ladies landed a couple of solid shots, but, nobody's hurt and we're right back to boxing at range. Not much in it in this stanza. Ten seconds remaining. Time for another flurry from Krysten and there's the bell. Close, but Ritter gets the points."

Cassie: "And, Krysten expands her lead to 67-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Back to work in the eighth and we're at range, where we've been almost the entire fight. Ritter working the left hand, dropping solid rights off it. Katy slipping forward a step or two here and there to get off at middle distances. Both fighters effective on these terms..."

Tess: "Getting a little late in the day though for Perry down a pair."

O'Dell: "Might be, but the blonde is remaining patient, working the feet, stepping forward, landing a nice combination. Ritter quickly restores order with the left hand. That jab of hers is both accurate and effective and DOWN GOES KRYSTEN! A BOOMING RIGHT HAND FROM PERRY AND DOWN GOES RITTER!"

Cassie: "She's NOT getting up from THAT..."

O'Dell: "Katy landed it on the button, set it up with a hard left jab and Ritter on her back, eyes closed. Perry in a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Krysten rolling to her belly at six. Seven. Eight. Not going to happen. Ritter trying to push to all fours at nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO8 is 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

McCarthy: "Lucky, that's all. Lucky."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Cassie Scerbo!"

Cassie: "I have our winner, Katy Perry, and, Katy, that was some kind of fight..."

Katy (nodding): "Knew it would be. You don't come in here and beat Gems if you can't FIGHT. And, this girl can fight. But, when I drop that right on you, well. You're going down and you aren't getting back up."

Cassie (smiling): "I'd ask what's next for you, but I know what you're going to say..."

Katy (smiling): "Whatever gets me closer to another shot at the belts. That's what's next."
