Charlize Theron* vs. Charisma Carpenter (III) (Nike 122 title bout) 30-Nov-1999

Charisma used Charlize to climb her way to the top, now Theron looks for payment in full for services rendered. High quality bout, with Theron a little more effective outside, but Carpenter with the mean body work, predicting "I'll snap her in two" in pre-fight.

Round 1: Paint job by Charlize as she lays down a punishing carpet of jabs to keep Charisma off her body. Significantly, when Carpenter fights her way close, Theron bangs with her, bouncing hard rights and lefts off the brunette's rib cage to send Charisma back outside with hurt on her face. Pounding shutout Charlize.

Round 2: Carpenter a little more effective cutting off the ring, but still paying the price as Charlize jab bangs through the guard. Charisma putting mileage on Theron's midriff midway through with some banging two fisted combinations, but down the stretch, the leggy blonde wheels away, popping the double jab, pivoting and cranking the hook to the brunette's cheek to take the round.

Round 3: Charlize continues to lay down the best jab of her career, sticking Charisma repeatedly to the face, and stepping to the left before the brunette can recover. Blonde pumping out left hands, cracking back Charisma's skull, then putting the fist to Carpenter's sports bra. Charisma beginning to swell around the eyes, manages to body up on Charlize late in the round to bang the blonde's flanks at the bell.

Round 4: Charisma turns the corner, slipping the jab to get in, setting up on Charlize' right shoulder and going to work. Carpenter with the chopping double left hook over Theron's shoulder, sets up sidearm, PITCHING RIGHTS TO THE BREASTS AND THERON VISIBLY SLOWS. Carpenter beating Charlize in a wide circle around the ring as Theron can't get off, can't get out.

Round 5: Charlize legs look flat, and she doesn't have the same zip on the jab - Carpenter able to walk through the punch to POUND CHARLIZE' BREASTS FLAT with hard fisted combinations, then set up cheek to cheek. Carpenter snapping her punches into Charlize, has the blonde faltering when midway through the round, a biting left on the jaw, left to the liver combination buckles Theron's legs. THERON SPILLS TO ALL FOURS with an open mouth and closed eyes. Theron beats the count, but lolls back against the ropes as Carpenter pours into the breach, WHIPPING RIGHTS SHOESHINE THERON'S BREASTS LEAVING HER QUIVERING at the bell.

Round 6: Charlize desperately hurt, flat footed, comes out a warrior this round. Jabbing left past Charisma's ear, Theron able to block the brunette's right and pull Carpenter forward into a clubbing uppercut. Theron working methodically, bangs right hands to the brunette's body and chin, blocking, turning with Carpenter's punches, then coming in hard with the free hand. Carpenter begins to wilt, eyes clouding over as she blunders into Charlize brawling tactics. Midway through the round Charlize dips to the right, slipping Carpenter's tired right cross, and comes back with a blistering short right hand on the teeth and CARPENTER IS HURT! Charisma wobbling to the ropes with a blasted expression, pulls her mitts to the lips, but Theron is ON her. Charlize, whipping wide lefts and rights to her hurting foe's ribcage, breaks Charisma down, then uses the forearm to shove Carpenter back, setting up the banging short right hands on the mouth. Carpenter's head jolting back and forth - she slumps forward and eats a sweet curling right uppercut to the face as Charlize takes one step back. CARPENTER GOES OUT COLD, plummets to the canvas as Charlize spins away without a backward glance. KO6 Charlize Theron.

Charlize answers Charisma's power with power of her own, dousing the athletic brunette with a savage 6th round stoppage. Pressure on Charlize to put Charisma down after their last bout, and the champ came through with an impressive beat down. Carpenter once the hottest fighter in the celebrity game, now struggling to find a rhythm.
