Jennifer Lawrence (FCBA) vs Doutzen Kroes (BBU) non-title (result:Lookout;fight:simgrrl)

TALE OF THE TAPE:
Lawrence
: 30yo, 5'9", 133 lbs, (37-25-1) FCBA Welter Champion, Chimera
Kroes: 35yo, 5'10", 128 lbs, (17-6-0) BBU Welter Champion, Lookout! Atlantic Boxing

Before: The top welters of the FCBA and BBU get together in a ring! Of course, it's a difficult fight to arrange; the women would only agreed on the stipulation that it's a "non-title fight." Non-title in every way except that they both want to "send a message." What their message IS...and to who it's being sent is unclear...but there's no doubt from their prefight comments it's clear to both of them!

Lawrence: "I've struggled for a long time to get where I am. It's not going to be easy for anyone to take the belt away from me. I hope Upton and the rest are paying attention tonight. As for Kroes, I really like that Dutchwoman, but I won't be taking it easy on her just because this isn't a title fight. She, and the rest of the BBU, have to understand they're not on the FCBA's level."

Kroes: "Lawrence - like the rest of the FCBA - talks big, but they put their shoes on the same way everyone else does...one at a time. That's how I'm taking this, as my first step toward the FCBA title. She won't risk it tonight, but after this fight, Lawrence and everyone in the FCBA will realize it's only a matter of time."

Elizabeth Debicki and Rebecca Hall are seconds for Doutzen Kroes as she walks with coach Nicole Ritchie to the ring. The 'Dutch Destroyer' looks serious and confident as she struts in a leopard print thong bikini, black trainers and white gloves; her long hair in a messy ponytail that bounces with each stride of her lithe, wiry, long, legs. Once in the ring, she takes off the BBU welter belt and hands it to Ritchie.

Jennifer Lawrence is introduced and appears from behind the curtain flanked by Charlize Theron and Sofia Vergara. Jen's wearing a two-piece black suit with the FCBA welter champion's belt around her waist. Her short, honey-blond hair, is slicked down and she slaps her black gloves together as she walks toward the ring, her lips curled in a cocky sneer as she locks eyes with Kroes.

After the referee's instructions, Lawrence extends her gloves to touch. The dynamic Dutchwoman slaps them aside and bellies up to J-Law, pressing her bosom onto the FCBA champion's rack. "You're going to lose," Doutzen hisses as she forces Jen back a step. Before Lawrence can reply, the referee pushes them apart; sending Kroes grinning back to her corner and Jen frowning to hers!
* * * *
During Rd1: Jen charges out of her corner at the bell, eager to show the upstart BBU champ she can't be intimidated! Kroes, having anticipated exactly this reaction by Lawrence, slips the blockbuster right hand the FCBA champ opened the fight with to step inside and drill a short right uppercut to J-Law's belly button and Jen lets out a chuff of air as she doubles over. Doutzen, fired by decades of FCBA disdain for the BBU, unleashes a barrage of body punches before Lawrence can catch her breath.
The next two minutes of the first round find Doutzen Kroes putting on a demonstration of body-punching that opens the eyes of many FCBA loyalists in the crowd. Lawrence, the newly-anointed FCBA champion is battered from pillar to post by the fists of the BBU's champion. Only J-Law's rugged constitution, conditioning and iron will keep her from going to the canvas - although she's staggered numerous times - and only by clinching can she avoid even greater damage. At the bell, there's no doubt about the scoring...even by the three FCBA officials at ringside...it's Kroes wide!

Rd2: The 2nd round opens with Lawrence on the attack, eager to make up for her performance in the first stanza. No longer seeing this as the "exhibition" she expected, Jen now realizes she's in for a war as it's been made clear Kroes - far from the smiling model she'd appeared is actually a BBU fighter on a mission to prove the BBU is better than most in the FCBA seem to think! After a minute of back-and-forth punch trading, Kroes again lands a hard right to J-Law's body just when Jennifer seems to be getting on a roll.
Just like the first round, Doutzen Kroes grabs the reins and puts spurs to Lawrence's flanks; punishing her as she drives her backward around the ring like a pony in a show ring! It's a display of brutality not often seen in the BBU from Kroes, who has 'enjoyed' an up-and-down career thus far in the "minors". If there was any doubt among the FCBAers in the crowd after the first round, they were convinced at the end of the second when Doutzen landed a left hook/right cross combination to sit Lawrence down in the Chimera corner.
Kroes pranced away with her arms raised as the referee started the count, but Lawrence surprised anyone who doubted her guts when she dragged herself up by the ropes to her feet to beat the count just before the bell. Doutzen's knockdown gave her a second straight round wide!!

Rd3: Lawrence, after getting an earful from Theron-Vergara between rounds, makes a couple of subtle changes in her approach this round. Gone is her aggressive, damn-the-torpedoes, headlong attack, now she's showing Kroes the respect Doutzen has earned in the opening rounds. Jen popping her left (something she failed to do previously, to her discomfort); circling left behind the jab to muffle Kroes' right. Moving in-and-out briskly, J-Law controls the tempo, not letting the BBU champ get set or allowing Kroes to get too comfortable before Jen lands her right - which happens regularly.
But Doutzen Kroes isn't idle either, and during the middle part of the rounds, she has her moments. A left hook rocks Lawrence, and later, a big right uppercut buckles the FCBA champs knees. Both times, however, Lawrence fought back and at the end of the 3rd round, Jen had her first 10 on the scorecards. Albeit by a narrow single point, but it still signaled a return to competitive status after spending the first six minutes as Kroes' punching bag.

Rd4: Her confidence buoyed by her success in the third, Lawrence upped her tempo to open the fourth; seeming to surprise Doutzen who thought the prior round was simply a 'bump in the road' and of no consequence. She found to her dismay, she had been wrong! Jen came out firing with both fists and never gave Kroes the opening she needed to reverse the momentum. After landing a couple of early rights, Jen was able to keep Doutzen under control with combinations and her liberal use of the left jab - which gave Kroes trouble throughout the 3rd and 4th rounds and she had yet to find an antidote.
The fight seemed to reach a turning point mid-way in the round when J-Law landed a crashing right to the jaw that send Doutzen windmilling her arms back into the ropes where Lawrence set up shop to pound the aging model's body, mirroring Doutzen's abuse of Jennifer's in the first two rounds. By the end, it looked like the BBU champion was ready to go as she was hanging on with her arms around J-Law's neck, their sweat-slick supple bodies rubbing and slip-sliding against each other as they drove rights and lefts into each others flanks. The score reflected Lawrence's dominance thru much of the action - despite Kroes efforts to fight back late - giving her the nod wide.

Rd5: As the pro-FCBA crowd settled down for the fifth round they expected their champion to finish off the BBU's title-holder...but they were about to be disappointed. Doutzen Kroes came out firing bombs, never giving Lawrence a chance to settle back into the rhythm that she'd developed in the previous two rounds. A couple of quick right hands to the face stunned Lawrence who from that point was forced to fight most of the fifth moving backward!
To her credit, Lawrence's defense proved sturdy and, combined with several tactical clinches at key moments in the round, allowed her to weather the storm of leather being thrown at her. But fights aren't won by defense and clinching, at least a minimal amount of offense is required if a fighter wants to prevail. While Lawrence succeeded in meeting the "minimal offense" standard, it was far from enough to overcome the hail of hellfire thrown at her by Doutzen. By the end of the round, Jennifer Lawrence was in worse shape than when she finished the second round and by the bell the scorecards had once more tilted heavily in Kroes' favor and she won her third round of the fight...all wide.

Rd6: Nicole Ritchie orders Kroes orders, "Finish Lawrence off," and Doutzen does her best to follow them. Early in the fight, Doutzen had pancaked Jen's right breast with an accidental punch. She hadn't thought much about it, but Ritchie had seen how it had bothered Lawrence. Nicole told Doutzen, "Go JMDD on that b*tch!" And that's what Kroes did for all three minutes of the sixth round! The first three punches Doutzen threw went straight into the bulging top of Lawrence's bikini and each smashed the targeted flesh flat. The first took Jen's breath away, the second brought tears to her eyes and the third sent her reeling back against the ropes with her arms crossed over her throbbing bosom.
Theron, in Jen's corner, screamed in protest to the referee - who ignored her - allowing Kroes to continue to bludgeon J-Law's boobs with both fists! Too shocked at first to respond in kind, Jen was driven sideways along the ropes as Doutzen pushed her left hand on Jen's right shoulder and then hammered away with her right fist. First Jen's belly, then her left breast, then her right, then her belly again until Jen was too winded and hurt to fight back. The referee stepped in and asked Jen if she could continue, and stubbornly the young honey-blonde battler insisted she could.
Once Jennifer was hurt, Kroes went back to the body, banging boobs and belly non-stop to the bell. The scorekeepers had no choice but to award Kroes her fourth round of the sixth, all wide!

Rd7: Furious about Doutzen's "vile tactics" Jennifer came out for the seventh far behind on the scorecards, but determined to show Kroes - and Lawrence's friends and fans in the FCBA - that she refused to be taken advantage of and made a laughing stock. Ignoring the advice from Vergara, Jen leapt in to attack Kroes right from the bell and set out to repay the BBU champion for the humiliation Jen had suffered in the sixth round. Two right hands landed flush in the opening twenty seconds before Kroes even realized J-Law wasn't as badly hurt as she'd appeared.
A left hook-right cross followed, with a left uppercut unhinging Doutzen's knees, forcing her to clinch while Lawrence went to town on Kroes' midsection. Twice Kroes nearly went down; and twice Jen held her up, pinning her to the ropes where she could continue to hit her. After three minutes of non-stop abuse, Kroes was a wreck...while Lawrence was exhausted from punching her. Both fell together at the bell, but it was Jen Lawrence who stumbled back to her corner with the points...wide!

Rd8: Unlike earlier rounds, Jennifer Lawrence was able to build on her advantage as Doutzen came out still achy and sore. J-Law attacked with a vengeance, smashing away at Doutzen's bikini top, smashing her proud puppies flat on her chest. The end came suddenly when, early in the second minute, Lawrence connected with a clean uppercut that nearly took Kroes' head off! She was lifted off her feet and crashed to the canvas flat on her back. Lawrence stood over, glaring down at her and screaming at her, "GET UP!"
Doutzen gamely struggled to her feet and when the referee let her continue, J-Law rushed in to finish her off at ropes! As she landed three punches against the defenseless BBU champion the referee quickly jumped in to stop the fight. The winner: Jen Lawrence by TKO8!

After: Jen, eager to take advantage, bodies up to the groggy BBU champ, forcing her chest onto Kroes' while getting in Doutzen's face and yapping like an out-of-control Schnauzer until the referee drags her away. Elizabeth Debicki and Rebecca Hall rush in to gather up their battered BBU champion and hustle her off to the safety of her corner just as Theron arrives to give Kroes a piece of her mind!
Debicki, a long, tall, welterweight, pushes Theron back and gets in Charlize's face, warning her, "You don't want to get on my radar...old timer!"
They're about to get into it when the referee, Vergara, and Nicole Ritchie arrive and "cooler heads" prevail...although Ritchie sounds more like she's trying to instigate trouble than calm the waters!

After peace is restored, Lawrence, with her arm raised by the referee, has a microphone pushed in her flushed and sweaty face. She grabs it in her still wrapped paws and bellows, "Freakin' YEAH!" Then adds, "That'll teach her to punch THESE PUPPIES!" grabbing her breasts and shaking them at the Lookout! corner.

Later in the Lookout! Atlantic dressing room. A visibly subdued Doutzen pouted for the cameras and said, "I usually let my fists talk for me, so I don't talk much after fights... especially losses. But I have to use this chance to tell everyone this fight proves BBU is not a joke. I lost, yes; but I could easily have won against the current FCBA Welterweight champion. In fact, going into the third round I was seconds from a win," she sighed, her disappointment obvious. "Then again after the sixth I was sure it was going to happen.

"Jennifer Lawrence is a true champion. Every time I hurt her, she came back harder. She's a tough woman, make no mistake! She hits hard and she can take punishment. I have nothing but respect for her. That said, I'm looking forward to fighting her again...this time on MY turf. She'll not get off easy then."
