Before: Witt a notorious East-coast submission wrestler known for 5-moves-ahead type intelligence and cat-like cruelty in her bouts: jury's out on how her skills will translate to the boxing ring. "She looks soft to me," says Lis Rohm, commenting on her foe's decadent physique, "but looks can be deceiving. I know Alicia's tough and dangerous - I once saw her submit Rebecca Demornay in an apartment bout, back when Demornay was still strong, so Witt's got chops. She's a good follow up to Lopez. I'm not choosy - I just want to keep the ball rolling with more fights and hopefully more wins!" Rohm in white bikini top; shades-of-blue splash print bottoms; white gloves. Witt in black bra and panties with tiger-print trim and waist band; black gloves. Interesting aside: both girls have attracted training sponsors for this fight. Down the stretch, Alicia reaches her left to pull down Elisabeth's right, then leans in close to score a firm right hand on blonde chin: sneaky, supple. Round to Rohm - Witt patient, showing durability, but getting outworked.

R2: Similar pace: Rohm busier, more active, buzzing around her redhead, touching Alicia up and down. Witt supple on her hips, rolling shots well, picking off shots with her relaxed right hand - she's cagey, smooth - often surprising Rohm with thudding, unexpected receipts. Lis keeping the tempo high, outworking Witt: Alicia turning, tilting and bending into arc of Rohm's punches, slipping the majority. Rohm banging the body well - lips tight as she digs in either hand above Witt's hips. Alicia tilting to her left, thumping in the occasional hook behind Rohm's right elbow in retaliation. Rohm finishes up another good round with a frisky flurry to Alicia's breasts. Redhead punched onto her heels, expression darkening at the bell.

R3: Lis takes her third straight from Witt: tempo, work-rate trumping oily defence and single-shot counters. Witt unhurt, but she's easily stroked to the body as she bends and rolls on her hips, keeping feet stationary. Rohm able to stay busy, digging at redhead ribs, flank and waist, then pivoting left to change-up angle. Witt with some cute hand techniques - especially that smooth left coming in to pull Rohm's right down - followed by a much more abrupt right to blonde chin. Witt's jab also a sparkling marvel when she chooses to show it: straight, jolting shot off the shoulder, landing with spank.

R4: Witt adjusting - putting the jab on Rohm to help steer blonde into punching lanes; clinching Lis after scoring on her, smothering the receipts; riding the left hand behind Rohm's head, pulling her around and holding her for smiting rights. When she steps in the jab, Witt's startling Rohm - slicing through the guard to pound pretty blonde features. Witt nice and relaxed in the pocket, showing a Charisma Carpenter type poise as punches burst against arms/flanks, then countering deftly to Rohm's midsection or chin. Witt showing moments of handspeed - once catching Rohm a left hook-to-tummy off the front (left) foot, then switching weight to right (back) foot to toggle Rohm's chin the mop-up hook. Rohm out-punched for the first time, looking a little frazzled as girls exchange wary glances at bell. Witt prettily examining Rohm's face, noting the mouse-bulge under blonde left eye.

R5: Alicia looking more comfortable - jabbing Rohm, hooking off the jab, leaning in close to tie up. Ref issuing breaks as Witt cuddles with intent to frustrate: it's working. Rohm scowling, backing out and hopping to get re-energized...only to wade back in and get bogged down. Lis directing her attack to Alicia's suspect gut: Witt grunting as blonde digs her way in, then snatches back at Rohm supple hooks-to-body/right uppercuts to chin. Down the stretch, Rohm pushing the pace: Witt leans in on front (left) foot to plow a right to gut; leans out onto right foot to pull a smiting hook across (neatly turning over the left foot on its big toe). Rohm caught shockingly flush - mouthpiece clapped off her teeth: she's a stricken beauty, staring helplessly as she sways on the spot. Witt clinical - weight still on her right foot, she curls an outside-in right uppercut to Rohm's chin, then hops forward onto left foot with a short, brawny hook, piling into Rohm with her body on follow through. ELISABETH GOES DOWN! Pushed to her back, but caught a clean, short clout to chin - SHE'S OUT! Rohm helpless on her back, head up off the canvas, eyelashes fluttering as she tries to rally: Rohm gives up a KO5 to Alicia Witt.

After: Witt cool, demure with press as everyone wants a piece. Rohm sitting up, woozily brought 'round with smelling salts: she's beaten tonight by a combination of slick defensive moves, deceptively quick hands, and heavy stroke from the naturally bigger redhead. Good showing from Alicia upstages Elisabeth; fellow submission-queen Catherine Zeta Jones said to be interested in trying Witt, following their much talked-about apartment wrestling duels in New York. "I'm listening," Alicia smiles when told of Jones' interest, "but I'm listening to others as well. There hasn't been a great redhead at the higher weights since Jamie Luner - everyone's looking for that special little something for their next fight, and I fit the bill. I'm valuable because I'm rare, and I'm going to make the most of it. I guess that makes Elisabeth cheap because she's common, right?"
