Before: "There'll be an awful lot of brunette firepower in the ring, that's for sure," Celebrity Ring's Welter-beat columnist enthuses. "Gale's getting a little fanfare coming out of Australia - she's being lauded as the heir apparent to Rachel Hunter, although opinion's divided as to whether Hunter truly passed the torch in their fight. Govich is big, strong, and slow - you'd have to think Gale is the more fluid, talented boxer - but I can't think of anyone who wants to get hit clean by Milena. It's a standard boxer/puncher match up; the early favourite would be Gale, but the truth is this fight's pretty hard to handicap." Gale in pale lavender bikini with white floral designs, white gloves. Govich in bright purple bikini; black gloves.

During R1: Govich flat footed, stalking; dukes high, thumbs pressing into her cheeks. Gale legs back in good order, letting Govich stagger forward: HUGE right uppercut, followed by left uppercut punches Milena's head up off her mitts - Gale shoulder-shrugging the blows in short n' snug. Sweeping right roundhouse claps off Govich's belly - Gale sidesteps right, allowing groaning Milena to stumble face-first to ropes. Gale pivots, crouches - drives in a long right hand palm-down to Milena's pale gut; straightens up on left leg to plow left uppercut to Govich's breasts. Govich stunned, stooping forward behind mitts: Gale squares away, starts short-shrugging in clouting lefts and rights, just bumping and clubbing Govich about head and shoulders. Milena loosening, punched into stupor, turned around at ropes - she goes down under thumping, muscular leather - hitting her haunches with right arm going through the ropes, hanging her up on middle strand. Gale glowing, bats mitts, hops away: Milena grimly pulls herself up, beating the count on sheer will alone. Final minute mop up: Govich stooping forward behind mitts, butt-in-ropes; Gale stepping-to, palming Milena's shoulders, then fetching her thick, strapping wallop to either flank, either bicep. Rich, gorgeous beating dished out - Gale at close range, elbows in, getting her shoulders and hips working rhythmically to dish it up to Milena. Bell: Gale flashing a blinding smile into Govich's stunned, staring face; that's 10-8 Megan Gale.

R2: Megan back on top midring. She's more mobile, leggier - circling to her left with big-girl grace. Popping jab still sounding out against Govich's prepared defences - Megs dominating outside, looking to lean into heavy right crosses. Milena spends two minutes turning, blocking shots: not much back as Govich clearly tentative to eat more flush shots from Megan. Down the stretch, Megan comes in off a wide hook, trying to force-feed Milena a right hand up the middle. Govich answers a thudding right in Megan's chest, then beats her to a clouting hook close in; GALE GOES WOBBLY BUTT! Power of Govich evident as Megan stamps in fence-post-holes, showing a panicky earmuff. Govich works hard to steal the round, cleaning up thumping rights and lefts to tanned Aussie ribcage as Gale blunders around. Bell: bruised Govich gives Gale a challenging grin; Megan blinking back tears as she nearly went down late.

R3: Megan more wary, more effective. Gale showing surprising agility and lithe legs outside - circling Govich with ease, staying on her with the long-pulse jab. Govich in high guard, turning on the spot: she can't bring power to bear on moving target. Megan stepping around her poke - driving the odd straight right hand down into Milena's body, or trying the guard up top. Govich pawing back jabs, hoping to lean into rights of her own, but always pre-empted. Classy Gale shutout lumps Milena up: Govich frowning en route to her stool as Megan struts back to hers.

R4: Big thumping right/lefts in the waist as Gale once again ventures in close: Govich engaging with left uppercuts as Megan punches her way up-torso. Pleasing toe-to-toe - Gale landing heavily in her foe's midsection - otherwise it's grazing contact when girls look for chin. Govich slugging to Megan's arms in close, working the biceps as fight moves inside, stays at close quarters throughout second minute. Women bumping each other left shoulders, shortening up stroke to head or body. Final minute, Gale brushes Milena back the right uppercut - Govich steps outside to load up, looking to lean into a right hand. Gale with similar intentions and a half-step lead: Megan leans in a catapulting overhand right, crashing it to Govich's jaw as Milena's getting organized. HUGE blast - Govich's face pasted aside - body instantly limp as she sloshes down and to her right, plowing heavily to canvas and rolling onto her back. It's SO over: Milena Govich gunned down KO4.

After: THUNDEROUS knockout played over and over again on jumbotron- so perfect the extension and timing - Megan's free-swinging right cleaving Govich so cleanly to jaw and instantly ending the big woman's night (fans who saw Rashad Evans take out Chuck Liddel will recognize the general look of this whack). "That's more like it!" Crows Gale in her Aussie drawl. "I was disappointed that I didn't banish Hunter this way - sailing into Milena makes up for a lot! She was very heavy handed - I did feel her strength - but I knew I was much the better fighter and that I had nothing to fear from her power. A grand clap like this should make people take notice: Megan Gale has arrived in the FCBA, and the line forms at the right!"
