New Year's Boppin' Eve 6: It's Still NBC At The Asylum PPV

BEFORE:

"I showed what I could do the LAST time I was here," says Megan. "I guess that's why no one's been calling. But. Give Front Street credit. They called. I hate to make them sorry. But, I'm GOING to."

"She can definitely fight," says Chloe with a smile. "But, tonight, she's in with the best bantam in the world. And, that will make all the difference."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Jungle' by 'X Ambassadors' and here comes the star of 'The Blacklist', Megan Boone!"

McCarthy: "Boone is a HACK. She should have beaten that Campbell Clone the last time she was here and she SPIT THE BIT. SHE'LL never be ranked in the Top Twenty when she's FORTY-SEVEN years old!"

Tess: "This just never gets old...oh, wait. It DOES!"

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, Walmart!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys. It's New Year's Eve! Boone into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing that black two piece we saw the last time she was here, and that's..."

McCarthy: "HORRIFIC NOISE!"

O'Dell (sighing): "'Uh Oh', and the singer of that tune, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet, is on her way to the ring."

Cassie: "Bennet ranked Number One in the latest Boxing World Bantamweight Rankings..."

McCarthy: "Not for LONG! Because, soon I will be Number One! At age FORTY-SEVEN!"

O'Dell: "I'm not sure I can wait until after the card to start drinking. Bennet into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that blue bikini we've seen before. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Chloe. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins. Bennet!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "We're underway. Boone aggressive early, bulling forward behind her left, backing Chloe up. Bennet giving some ground here, not wanting to get into an early firefight. And, for good reason. She's the heavy favorite here, no reason to take a bunch of chances..."

Tess: "And, the opposite true for Boone."

O'Dell: "Indeed, it is, and Megan willing to go for it early. And, she's having some success. She's got the former champ on her back foot and is working to keep her there. Chloe willing to retreat, counter, keep Boone honest, but not willing to punch for respect, at least not yet."

Cassie: "She WILL, though."

O'Dell: "At some point, you'd think so, but not in the opening round. We're down to ten seconds left in the first stanza, and it's been mostly Megan Boone. Older brunette controlling the proceedings as the number one contender manages aggression to the bell. There it is. First to Boone. Wide."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "More aggression from Boone in the second and now Chloe's done playing. Bennet firing right back and they are AT it in the center of the ring, trading bombs! Crowd getting into it as sweat goes flying with both brunettes landing hard rights in that exchange. Boone circles away and sets up at gunnery range."

Cassie: "Smart move. Don't want to just trade with Chloe. That won't end well."

O'Dell: "And, we're settling into some boxing now. Megan with a slight reach advantage, but Bennet knows how to deal with that, angling, getting to her spots, getting off. Boone getting some of her own offense on target, though. It's good, two-way stuff at the moment."

McCarthy: "This is the key to beating these Dancing Hookers. Get physical! Don't get bullied!"

Tess: "I remember how well that worked for you against Neve..."

McCarthy: "Just keep in mind, she's RETIRED, and I'm in the Top Twenty at 47 years old! And, I WAS ROBBED!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Down the stretch in a competitive second. Bennet a nice flurry, landing a good right in there. Boone fires right back. Megan not intimidated. She's here to fight, not survive, and you can clearly see that. Five seconds left. One last exchange and there's the bell. Close. Chloe."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third starts the way the second ended. Ladies getting their box on, and Boone doing OK on these terms. Impressive, frankly, because Bennet is one of the better boxers in this division. But, for the moment, at least, Megan is matching her pretty well."

McCarthy: "That's because these Dancing Hookers are all overrated!"

O'Dell: "Nice exchange there with both fighters landing some solid shot and both shipping that shot very well, indeed. Boone has to be gaining confidence as this fight goes on. She's holding her own very, very well against the the number one contender at the moment."

Tess: "And, here corner's pretty pleased by that, as we heard between rounds."

O'Dell: "Has to be. This fight plan is going pretty well at the moment. Under ten to go in the third. Another nice exchange there and both fighters landing in it. Megan circles away. Chloe moves to, but, before any more leather can be thrown, the bell ends the stanza. Close again. Boone."

Cassie: "And, Megan leads 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Ladies back to boxing in the fourth and Bennet quickly lands a sharp combination and forces Boone to cover up. Chloe following up immediately, backing up the older woman and ANOTHER flurry from Bennet sends Megan back again. Chloe getting it going, ladies..."

Cassie: "Only a matter of time."

O'Dell: "Bennet's got the geometry and the range down now, and she's got everything working. That, as we've said before, is VERY bad news for whomever happens to be in the ring with her. And, right now, that's Megan Boone. Older brunette on the defensive, giving ground..."

McCarthy: "Just ride this out. That's all. She'll be fine."

O'Dell: "Thirty seconds to go. Chloe taking all the canvas she wants right now. Boone not hurt, but she can't get out of reverse, because Bennet won't let her. Ten seconds. Chloe a GOOD right hand there. Megan covers up again and there's the bell. Chloe. Wide."

Tess: "Even again, this time at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Chloe after Megan early. She's pressing that advantage, now stepping forward behind the left jab. Boone giving ground, playing defense, countering here and there. Bennet upping the aggression as we go, sitting down on those hard right hands at the moment."

Tess: "Bennet on a mission right now. She's looking to end this."

O'Dell: "Boone not making in easy on her. She's defending well, finding spots for counters, but Bennet calling the match right now. She took control early last round and doesn't look like giving it up any time soon. Chloe a solid combination. Megan firing back and GETTING DROPPED WITH A RIGHT HAND!"

Cassie: "Caught her pretty clean with that..."

O'Dell: "Absolutely did! Megan blown to her back. Bennet quickly to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Boone's head lolling back and forth, eyes closed. Six. Seven. Eight. Not going to happen. Nine. TEN! It's OVER. And your winner by KO5 is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

McCarthy: "Lucky, that's all. Just lucky!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe, she gave you some trouble for awhile..."

Chloe (nodding): "This girl has tools. If she'd have gotten a chance up here early, like I did? She'd be a contender in this division."

Tess: "Well, you ARE a contender in this division, and I'm going to guess that your goal for 2020 is..."

Chloe (smiling): "Getting back that gold! Absolutely, Tess. That's the goal. And, that's what I'm going to do."
