BEFORE:

"Perry's a girl who's had a MILLION opportunities," says Sarah with a shake of the head, "And, how many has she wasted? Almost ALL of them. And, other girls never get ONE big chance. Well. I've got one tonight. And, I won't waste it."

"SOMEone's getting wasted tonight," says a hard-eyed Katy. "And, that someone is SARAH."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside to wrap 2019, and that's 'There She Goes' by The La's you hear behind us, and here comes the star of 'Council of Dads', the lovely Sarah Wayne Callies!"

McCarthy: "Callies actually HAS FCBA wins, and, when she beats that overrated Dancing Hooker Perry tonight, she'll jump up in the rankings. BUT. She's only 42, so, she has a LONG way to go to catch Mac The Knife, the first and ONLY fighter ever ranked in the Top Twenty at age 47!"

Tess: "BFF, remind me to have Pointy spike this water bottles with a little vodka next month, will you?"

O'Dell (sighing): "One more fight. Just one more. Callies into the ring and helped off with the robe. And, the crowd popping for the way the willowy brunette looks in that ruby two-piece. And, that's 'California Gurls' you hear behind us, and here comes 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

Cassie: "Perry, for as big a star as she is in the FCBA, still hasn't nailed down a roster spot for next year. This is her last chance to impress before that decision is made."

McCarthy: "If Weirdo is smart, and he's NOT, he'll dump this Dancing Hooker and that toothpick Hill and bring back Torv and Sobieski, his only two REAL fighters other than Stewart!"

O'Dell: "Katy into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that red bikini we've seen before and looking plenty good in it. Ladies about ready to go. Time for our final picks of the year. Tess likes Katy. Mac, you're sticking with Sarah?"

McCarthy: "Mac The Knife is calling the upset. Callies wins and Perry's in the street!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell. Sarah going to use the jab early. She's got a bit of reach on Katy and she's taking advantage of it. Perry patient. She's not going to force anything here. She's moving the feet, angling, looking for spots to get some offense going as Callies uses the left."

Cassie: "Sarah doesn't want to be banging with Katy, so, this is a good way to start."

O'Dell: "Perry willing to box with. Doesn't want to get sloppy and walk into anything. She's the favorite here and knows it. Not going to take unnecessary chances, especially this early in the fight. GOOD exchange right there and both fighters landed some solid shot in it."

McCarthy: "Callies just wants to pick spots here. Sit down on a punch, look to land something hard in spots."

O'Dell: "That appears to be the plan as we roll into the final seconds of round number one. Nice flurry from Sarah. Scored with a right hand there. Katy fires back and lands a good left. Callies back to range, jabbing, and there's the bell. Close first. Callies grabs the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second verse, same as the first. Ladies going to work at range here, getting their respective boxes on, and, Mac, we've discussed this before. Obviously, if you're the favorite, like Perry, you don't want to press to much here, but, for Sarah, she's being allowed to settle in here..."

McCarthy: "Right, which is an advantage for Callies, no question about it."

O'Dell: "Patience continuing to be shown by both fighters. Callies working the left hand. Katy moving the feet, angling, getting to her spots and getting off in combination. Sarah willing to give a little ground in those situations, not going to hang in there and slug with a big hitter like Katy."

Tess: "Game plan has to be to take this to the late rounds and play for a big counter between now and then."

O'Dell: "That would definitely make sense. We're down to fifteen seconds remaining in the second round. It's been closely fought, just like the first. Sharp exchange late sees both fighters land some solid shot and there's the bell. It's close again, but this time it's Perry's round."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Back at range to start the third. Perry a bit more aggressive now. She's angling forward, bringing her power to bear. Callies handling it well. Giving some ground, playing defense, tying up, doing whatever she can to slow Katy's offense down. No question Sarah's got a solid fight plan..."

Cassie: "None at all. She knows how dangerous Katy is, and she's planned for that."

O'Dell: "Perry in tight and working some body now. Callies tying up, slipping away. She's back to the jab, back to range. Katy angling, digging to the belly. Sarah firing back, lands a SOLID right hand that sent sweat flying and DOWN SHE GOES! Oh, what a right hand from Perry!"

Tess: "That came out of NOWHERE!"

O'Dell: "Katy to a neutral corner. Sarah down on her back, staring up at the referee after an absolutely VICIOUS right cross. Count at three. Four. Five. Sarah, eyes glazed, watching the numbers get bigger. Six. Seven. Eight. Not going to happen. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO3 in one-punch fashion is 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Katy Perry, and, Katy, that was quick!"

Katy (nodding): "Yeah. I caught her with one. She's very slick, and she's long, and her plan was about managing this thing. But, I knew I'd get her. And, I did."

Tess: "Tomorrow night, we're going to have the announcement of the Tenth Anniversary Roster. Do you expect to be in the building?"

Katy: "Tess, I've had FIVE title fights since I started at Front Street. That's two more than anyone else in the history of the stable. I've been ranked in the Top Ten at light for years and I was in the Top Ten at welter, too. Trust me, I'm going to be managed in 2020 one way or the other."
