BEFORE:

"Rumors flew that they were going to sign me," says Kate with a shrug, "But, they decided to give up on welter. Well. I'm here to show they made a mistake!"

"She's got talent," says Katy with a nod. "But, she's not winning tonight."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and Cassandra Lynn back with us, and that's 'Jack Sparrow' by The Lonely Island, and here comes the star of that video, blonde beauty Kate Bock!"

Cassie: "And, Bock is not wrong about the rumors. There's no question she was among the girls Uncle Wiz was considering during last year's reorg..."

Tess: "Wonder how that would have affected things, Bock being signed last December..."

O'Dell: "No way of knowing. Kate into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a bumblebee yellow number and a body that has the crowd popping..."

McCarthy: "Waaaaayyyy too skinny..."

O'Dell: "And, that's 'California Gurls' you hear thundering through the arena, and that can only mean that 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry is headed to the ring..."

Cassie: "Katy right in the title picture at lightweight, and she's definitely gunning for a win tonight to stay there..."

O'Dell: "Perry into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's looking good in that red number we've seen before. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Katy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Bock has wins. Perry's an overrated Dancing Hooker. Kate!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell. Blonde has some reach, and she wants to use it. She's setting up at range, wants to box. Perry normally OK with that, but the brunette wants to pressure at the moment, working past the jab, getting inside and EATING A RIGHT HOOK FROM THE BLONDE!"

McCarthy: "GREAT punch!"

O'Dell: "And Perry is GOBSMACKED! Katy stumbling backward and nearly going down and Bock all in, tossing everything but the kitchen sink at her rival. Perry backed to the ropes. Bock hammering away. Ref looking in closely, as the blonde lands ANOTHER solid punch, this one a straight right..."

Cassie: "Perry doing just enough at the moment..."

O'Dell: "Exactly right. She's jabbing back here and there to keep the ref at bay, but Kate is getting some SERIOUS work done, landing hard shot in bunches, piling up points and punishment. And, there's the bell. Perry still on her feet, but it's Bock's round and very wide."

Tess: "Kate up 10-9, but Katy still standing."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Bock coming forward behind that jab, backing Perry up. Katy giving ground, countering in spots, but it's Kate who's in control here. Perry's legs still not all that sturdy and Bock knows it. GOOD RIGHT HAND, KATE and DOWN GOES KATY! Perry dropped to her back with a straight right hand!"

McCarthy: "There it IS!"

O'Dell: "Blonde to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Perry sitting up at six. Seven. Eight. Katy to her feet at nine. Ref giving her the mandatory and thinking about it as he does, no doubt. And, he waives on Bock! Kate CHARGING across the ring, backing Perry up with heavy leather..."

Tess: "Wants to finish this now. She's the underdog. Don't let her off the hook."

O'Dell: "For the second straight round, Perry backed to the ropes and taking. She's got the guard high, rolling with punches, blocking others, but she's taking some hard shots. Ref again looking closely. Perry staying busy enough to keep him at bay. Ten seconds left. Good right from Bock, but Katy survives the round. There's the bell. Kate, 10-8."

Cassie: "And, Katy's in a hole, 20-17."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Bock in command, coming forward behind that long left jab. She's following on with right hands, backing up Perry. Brunette has spent most of the fight in reverse, and that's just where the blonde wants to keep her. Kate in rhythm in a big way right now, Mac..."

McCarthy: "She HAS this Dancing Hooker. Just needs to finish now."

O'Dell: "Good combination, Bock. Perry fires back now, landing a good right of her own. Katy may be shaking the worst of the damage. She's able to hold canvas now, and Bock adjusting quickly, going back to range to get her box on. Perry going to engage on those terms at the moment."

Cassie: "Might not have the legs to pressure right now."

O'Dell: "Good point, Cassie. Instead we've got ranged boxing. Bock getting the better of it, but Perry climbing back into it. She's angling, getting to spots, getting off in combination. Final seconds ticking away in the third. Sharp exchange there, and that's the bell. Bock again. Wide."

Tess: "And, Kate leads 30-26 after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Boxing at range to start the fourth. Blonde with the reach, Perry offsetting it by angling. Brunette getting the geometry right now, getting off in combination. Bock responding with solid flurries of her own. Good, two-way stuff at the moment, with both fighters seeming to be comfortable."

Cassie: "Katy's in a hole on the cards, but she's back in the fight."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. She's getting to her spots and landing solid shot. She's putting punches together very well, as well as she has all night. Bock, though, doing the same. She's been scoring well the entire fight, and she continues to do so here in the fourth round."

Tess: "At some point, Perry may have to try to pressure. But, it's early enough that she doesn't have to force things."

O'Dell: "And, she isn't. Instead, the brunette willing to box with. Not a lot in it in this stanza. Hasn't been close in the first three, but that's changed here in the fourth. Another sharp exchange there and Perry backs Bock up. Katy steps forward, lands a solid flurry and there's the bell. Close. Perry."

McCarthy: "But, Bock is still up three, 39-36."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Back to boxing in the fifth. Kate using that length, popping out that left, trying to keep Katy at bay with it. When she gets it on, she follows with hard rights. But, when Perry is able to slip it, angle, then it's Perry who's getting off in combination and DROPPING BOCK WITH A RIGHT HAND!"

Cassie: "What a SHOT!"

O'Dell: "Bock dropped to her back. Perry to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Kate to her belly at six. Seven. Up to all fours at eight. And, she's on her feet at nine! Got to admit, I didn't think she'd beat it, but she did. Blonde takes the mandatory and ON COMES KATY..."

McCarthy: "Just ride this out and she'll still be ahead."

O'Dell: "Kate in full retreat. Perry hammering away at her, forces her to the cables, and begins working body. Bock's put it on sale, keeping the guard high, and Katy is buying in bulk, digging to ribs and belly, trying to bring the guard down, then going upstairs with hard shot. Five seconds to go. Good right from Perry and there's the bell."

Tess: "10-8, Perry, but Bock still leads 47-46 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with Perry cleaning up. She's walking down Bock, hammering away at her. Kate's long, long legs a bit unsteady. She's not trying to hold canvas here, but she is engaging in a fighting retreat. GOOD right from Perry there, and that shook Bock..."

Tess: "Kate needs to play for time here."

O'Dell: "That's what she's trying to do, but Perry's got the range down and she's calling in the big guns. Katy, backing Bock up again with a solid flurry. Kate covering up and KATY DROPS HER AGAIN! A straight right hand from Perry and DOWN GOES BOCK!"

Cassie: "That may do it..."

O'Dell: "Katy to a neutral corner. Bock flat on her back, eyes closed, as the referee counts down at her. Three. Four. Five. No movement at all from Bock. Six. Seven. This is going to be academic. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 in comeback fashion is 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Cassie Scerbo!"

Cassie: "I have our winner, Katy Perry, and, Katy, tough, physical fight..."

Katy (nodding): "That's what I expected from her. I respect Kate. She's got power and she can box. She's a girl that, with regular work, could be a champion. So, I knew it would be tough. But, I knew I'd get her."

Cassie: "It's been a great year for you. What are your 2021 plans?"

Katy (smiling): "To get the belts back. And, that's just what I'm going to do!"
