(spanning the globe to keep you informed - here's some action Stateside while the Goddess is storming back into contention. Results and Prose by Simguy).

BEFORE: "Piper's a failed starlet," Vaugier shrugs. "Had her big push with Coyote Ugly - couldn't make anything happen - girls like her a dime a dozen. I've been holding my own in the entertainment industry for over 10 years; I'm only now getting the recognition I deserve, and there's no way - NO way - that I'll let this little snip use me as a jumpstart. Piper: you had your chance, and you blew it. Welcome to palookaville, population: you!" 'Pipes' looking slapped - real vehemence and resentment from Vaugier startling to pretty blonde come-backer. "Talk about failed starlets," Piper shoots back from podium. "At least I'm pretty, and people love to see me in the ring: if they loved Emmanuelle, it would've happened for her before now. I had some rough breaks the first time around, but I'm back stronger and tuffer than ever, and if you don't believe me, just wait. You're gonna get all the Perabo you'd ever want, and then some!" Piper in forest green bikini; black gloves; lank ponytail with long strands framing face. Emm in black lace push up; leopard print swimsuit bottoms; black gloves; black hair loose n' tangly.

During R1: Smart, professional prizefighting from both women, bespeaking years of hard work in the gym. Hands up/elbows in...bare feet sliding/whispering across canvas as they pivot and step; busy double jabs popping body/head. Both girls blocking/parrying well - combination punches spanking away on prepared defences. Difference might be placement on Emmanuelle's rising right hand to Piper's ribs from a crouch: Vaugier getting the punch a few times, digging it in clean and deep.

R2: Same again - girls with that relaxed "day at the gym" comfortable ring-attitude. Vaugier hooking off her jab, digging into right side or Piper's ribs: Perabo giving ground responsibly - keeping her hands up, popping out jabs as she backs away.

R3: Piper up tempos - outjabbing Emm for the first time, forcing retreat on formerly aggressive brunette. Piper digging into Emmanuelle's body via rapping right/lefts: tight, bouncing punches sounding out loud. Chopping rights up top partially blocked, but catching a bit of the left ear...Vaugier scampering a little as Piper steps-to with purpose. Furious exchanges down the stretch - both girls dipping in and getting off: Perabo outworks Vaugier as both women land to offending torsos/faces in brisk tic-tac-toe sequences. Wide-mouthed grin from Piper: pretty, wholesome blonde easily winning over the crowd through 3.

R4: Piper pressing Emm early behind roundhouse bodyshots: Vaugier catches her blonde a jagged little left uppercut counter to steal the initiative one minute in. Piper hurt, wobbly butt, covered up earmuff: HER ribs come under attack as Emm releases ratatat left/rights to either flank. Perabo cringing, baring teeth in hurt: Emm heartlessly jabs her girl to perimeter, stalks her along the ropes. Vaugier maybe just a bit too patient in pursuit: she stays atop Perabo, touching her up, but never really going after her to finish.

R5: See what happens when you don't finish hurting blondes? They come back and win the next round. Crisp toe-to-toe exchanges as girls bump guards, then seek short uppercuts and hooks: Piper whittling away at Vaugier's chin and ribs, just outworking the brunette. Neither girl hurt - both always in proximity, working behind high guards: gloves bounce dutifully off toned ribcages, or clout at well protected heads through 5.

R6: Piper again - outworking Emmanuelle, if not beating her up outright. Perabo getting the better of it in close as girls bump raised guards, then look to dig. Vaugier steps outside to circle, and Piper adjusts nicely - ranging in with a jab and forcing brunette to perimeter. Blonde stalks brunette along ropes - occasionally threatening her with wide right roundhouses to the flank, or sudden combinations body/head...nothing Vaugier can't deal with defensively. Sunny grin from Perabo at bell: she's working hard, sweating freely, getting Emmanuelle beat through 6.

R7: Vaugier jabbing to be first; hooking to ribs/liver behind Piper's right elbow, then hustling as the girls fall in together. Perabo getting nibbled on the close, then outworked: because she's getting off and working hard herself, she doesn't realize she's losing the round. Vaugier tattooing her blonde, stepping out, sliding around, then darting back in: good hardnosed veteran stuff edges Piper out of the 7th.

R8: Clear Emmanuelle domination as Piper rarely ventures out from behind her high guard. Vaugier roaming clockwise, fixing Piper with the jab, then touching her hooks or sharp right hands. Em showing a nice stitch-quick straight to Piper's body from outside - glove denting firm blonde belly meat as earmuffed Piper grunts unhappily. Ringing right/lefts rap away on blonde waistline - then Emmanuelle's gone - pivoting crisply left as Piper hums from punishment. Short-clipping left uppercuts; digging little left hooks behind elbow: Emmanuelle showing inside supremacy getting off vigorous while Piper hunkers down. Bell to bell Vaugier: her turn to smile - looking back over her shoulder all flirty/upbeat as Perabo's scowling at the break.

R9: Piper trying to brawl her way back into the lead...she pounds away wide, largely blocked, then crisply countered as Emm covers up strong in the pocket. Brunette very calm, poised underpressure: punches rap off her shoulders/flanks as Piper's peppering, then Em digs back vicious left uppercuts/short left hooks, picking Perabo up tummy/tits/chin. Discouraging stuff for Piper: she's initiating and getting beaten up/driven off in the exchanges through 9.

R10: Girls lean in on front (left) legs, dippin'-n'-diggin' the left hand techniques. Gouging left uppercuts to sturdy midriffs; biting little left hooks chip at ribs/chins...wonderful stuff late in a fight, showing both girls' world class conditioning. Tangy stuff - often like a Tijuana brothel brawl the way both girls fit batting hooks in behind right elbows: tasty! Down the stretch, Piper stuns Em a left uppercut/drifting right cross combo...finally buckling Vaugier's knees and sending her rickety to ropes. Blonde clean up fierce, but lacking pace: Em able to cover up/bend down and ride out the beating to bell. Comes back close, but clear: UD10 Emmanuelle Vaugier.

AFter: Piper punched puffy...hands on hips as she stares at canvas: pretty blonde's 0-2 in her comeback, finding rounds hard to come by in today's FCBA. Vaugier tossing unruly hair off her shoulders, beaming broadly: she's picking up speed, happy to leave Piper in her rearview mirror. "Umm...I just knew I was too classy for Piper," Emm says contemplatively in postfight. "I outboxed her, so she tried to bang - then I just countered her to ribbons. She got frustrated and that probably cost her the fight - she fought like a spoiled little brat and got what she deserved. Onwards and upwards for me. I tell you - I'd LOVE a fight with Grace Park in the fall - with her on Hawaii 5-0, I could steal her heat and really make some noise. I'd also like to get after Lori Loughlin - maybe get that done this summer. I'm really feelin' it guys: everything's finally falling into place for me!"
