Camille Kostek vs. Tahnee Atkinson

BEFORE:

It was once said that welterweight in the FCBA was a two-woman division. Well, that was probably never true, and, even if it was then, it's certainly not now. However. Even now, there's a small elite at welter. It consists of about a dozen girls spread over ten or so stables. Yeah. Membership is pretty exclusive, so any time two members of that elite get together, fireworks can be expected. And, there's no question that Camille Kostek and Tahnee Atkinson are two members of that club. And, both are ready for a firefight. "No question, she's a fantastic fighter," says the blonde with a nod. "And, she can hit like few girls in the FCBA. But. When you work out with The Most Dominant Ever every day, well. You're ready for just about anything."

"Here's what Camille needs to recognize," says Tahnee. "She may hang around with Righetti. But. She's NOT Righetti."

ROUND ONE:

No artifice here at all. Big, hard-hitting beauties simply have at one another in the middle of the ring. It's not sloppy, mind. Defense is being played, punches are being set up, but nobody's making any secret of the fact that they're sitting down on punches, looking to bring power to be...BOOM! A minute in an CAMILLE ROCKS TAHNEE! Former champ stumbles backward and might have sat down if not for the ropes and Kostek is ALL IN! Blonde winging away with everything she has looking to put a KO1 on Tahnee Freakin' Atkinson! Brunette against the ropes, high guard, leaning back, trying to ride out one hell of a storm as Kostek looks for the one punch that will finish it. Looks, but does not find as Atkinson does just enough to keep the ref at bay to the bell. When it rings, it's Camille wide and Tahnee plenty wobbly heading back to her corner.

ROUND TWO:

Kostek right back to work. Tahnee's legs still somewhat iffy, and the blonde takes full advantage, stepping to and making with the heavy leather. Atkinson all defense at the moment, giving ground, keeping the guard high, countering here and there, but mostly playing for time. Camille, meanwhile, showing quite a bit of savvy. She's not getting out of control despite dominating the proceedings. She gets the hands out and back quickly, moves the feet, moves the head, sets up her punches well. There's nothing sloppy about what the blonde is doing, but it's plenty impressive. Atkinson, meanwhile, doing well to stay off the ropes. She's tying up when she can, working hard to slow the blonde down. But, when the bell rings, Camille's taken it wide for the second time in a row and now has a 20-18 lead.

ROUND THREE:

Camille on the offensive again, but Tahnee solidifying her front now, and that makes all the difference. Sturdy Aussie can now hold canvas, fire back on even terms. FIREFIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! Kostek giving no quarter and Atkinson asking none and BOOM! Right hand, TAHNEE and Camille is GOBSMACKED! Blonde stumblin', rumblin', fumblin' at the Aussie beauty shoves all her chips into the middle of the table. Atkinson getting off lusty with both hands, forcing the blonde up against the cables now for some payback. Former champ going a little body, just to keep Kostek honest, but it's the head she's after and the finish, and she's on the verge of it. Camille being buffeted by a blizzard of hard shot as the ref looks in. Somehow, the blonde's sturdy legs hold her up to the bell, but, when it rings, it's Tahnee wide and cutting the lead to 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Aussie brunette bringing the pain. Camille's legs, like Atkinson's in the second, definitely iffy, and Tahnee's taking full advantage. She's stepping to, committing on everything, whacking body and thumping head. She knows from experience that there's no quit in Kostek, but she also knows that a fighter, even one as sturdy as Camille, can only take so much of the kind of leather Ms. Atkinson is dishing out before the mind remains willing but the flesh becomes weak. And, she's all ABOUT weakening the flesh of the blonde, digging away to ribs and midsection before coming right back upstairs to back up the American with more heavy leather. Camille does well to stand up to the onslaught and remain, well, standing up. She also manages to land some solid counters in spots. But, from first second to last, it's Tahnee in the fourth, and, when it ends, Atkinson has it wide and we're even at 38.

ROUND FIVE:

Atkinson continues the offensive. Brunette keeping the blonde on the back foot, working her over to head and body with hard shot. Most of the division would be out of there by now, but, as we mentioned, welter has an elite of about a dozen girls, and there's a reason Camille is in it. She's able to take this kind of punishment and stay on her feet. But, of course, not forever. And, that's what Tahnee's counting on as she continues to pile up both the punishment and the points. Kostek able to score a little more this round than she did in the fifth, even able to slow Tahnee's roll a bit at times. But, for the most part, the brunette is still calling the tune, still getting much the better of things, and still in control. At the bell, it's a third straight wide round for the Aussie, who's now on top 48-47.

ROUND SIX:

Tahnee again on the march. She's forcing the blonde to the back foot, landing heavy shot with both hands, continuing to dictate ter...BOOM! Right hand counter from Kostek and ATKINSON IS HURT! A SCINTILLATING shot from the blonde leaves the brunette all wobbly butt, and now Camille's back on offense, firing away with both hands to drive Tahnee up against the ropes. And. The beatings will now commence! Kostek having at the dazed brunette with everything in the arsenal. She's tossing everything but...and there goes the kitchen sink! Flurry after flurry of leather batters the former champion as the ref watches, ready to step in. But. Somehow, some way, the brunette ships it all, remains standing, and does enough to keep the ref from stopping it. By the bell, though, Tahnee looks a wreck, and Camille has taken it wide to even things again, this time at 57.

ROUND SEVEN:

Camille pressing, Tahnee retreating. Atkinson still wobbly and Kostek determined to get her out of there before she can shake the damage. Camille just firing everything in the magazines now, going to let it all go in an effort to win now, heedless of leaving anything in the tank for the last three rounds. Tahnee backed up again and again, wobbled several times by hard shot to the head. Ref watching, ready to leap in. Won't have to. BOOM! Straight right hand from the blonde and DOWN GOES TAHNEE! Atkinson crashes to her back after an absolutely BLISTERING right hand from Camille! Kostek quickly to a neutral corner, but it's not looking like she needed to rush. Atkinson unmoving as the referee counts. Finally, at seven, Tahnee begins to stir, but it's much, much too late. She's still down on her back when the count reaches ten. It's OVER! And your winner by KO7 is Camille Kostek!

AFTER:

Camille puffy, scuffed, but smiling. "Always was going to be a war against her. Like I said, she hits with the best of them. But, what she DOESN'T do is hit as hard as ME. Oh, and, it's been about a year since my last shot at those belts. I'm ready for my close up, Mr. DeMille."
