Emily DiDonato versus Courtney Tailor

Words: Fates

Results: Lookout

Courtney Tailor: 24 years old, 5’8”, 14-7 since 2017, Odds & Ends Fight Studio

Emily DiDonato: 29 years old, 5’10”, 22-8 since 2017, Fates Boxing

We have a catchweight bout tonight that is a rematch from January. Emily DiDonato’s first match of 2020 after a breakout 2019 with a 14-3 record was a devastating TKO loss against Courtney Tailor followed by some postmatch humiliation. Since that loss, DiDonato went on to defeat her stablemate Taylor Swift to win the title, and subsequently lost said title to the current champ Alexis Ren after two successful defenses. Tailor meanwhile has inserted herself into the welterweight title picture, but when she heard that Emily wanted a rematch, she gleefully accepted.

The two girls glare at each other as they sit down for the press conference, and Courtney doesn’t waste any time before throwing verbal jabs.

“Yeah, I know she’s become a champ since we last fought. But I don’t really care either, as I don’t think her reign mattered.” DiDonato’s expression grows more intense. “I absolutely humiliated Emily in seven rounds and made sure she knew who the real boss of the gridiron is when I jugged her out. And when she came to, she was crying, didn’t even say a word to the press. And then what? Taylor Swift cleans out the rest of the competitors so that this sad brunette model is the only *legit* contender and she wins by a fluke? Are you joking? She got to where she is on a soft schedule and luck.” Tailor settles back down and DiDonato grabs for her microphone.

“Pretty arrogant for someone who’s sat out the past three months. And I don’t think you even know who I’ve fought. Just to name a few: Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner. All girls who have held the title and are at the peak of the division. So don’t tell me my schedule was weak.” Emily pauses and turns to look directly at Courtney. “And I haven’t forgotten about last time. And I’m looking forward to repaying that favor once I put you on the canvas tonight.” DiDonato stands up and leaves, leaving Tailor giggling in her seat.

The already vocal FCBA crowd turns it up a notch as the announcer gets on the microphone to tell everyone what the next match is and announces Emily DiDonato first. DiDo steps out from the back to the cheering of the crowd and is accompanied by Ana Beatriz Barros. While the Goshen Goddess normally on the looser side on her way to the ring, tonight, she doesn’t wave to the crowd, keeping her attention focused on the ring. She mouths the side of the ring, sweeps her leg under the top rope, and pulls herself in before removing her robe. The Sports Illustrated model has opted for a yellow bikini and matching gloves with her hair up in a bun. Barros talks to her as Courtney Tailor makes her way out to the ring, bounding with energy, her chest bouncing up and down on her way. Courtney quickly steps into the ring and takes off her robe to reveal a white sports bra and black trunks with matching black gloves with white trim. Courtney steps forwards and gets into Emily’s face, who merely stares back. When neither girl extends their gloves at the referee’s request, he merely shrugs and starts the match.

Round 1:

DiDonato and Tailor both charge out of their corners and start slinging rights and lefts. DiDo uses her reach early, smacking Tailor in her nose, but the blonde Texan closes the distance between the two girls and absolutely socks Emily in the jaw! Courtney bodying Em as the brunette model covers her face after the blonde’s big shot to her head. Tailor picking at DiDonato’s ribs and chest, working around the brunette model’s guard, and slowly backing her up. Tailor really digging into DiDo’s model body as she gets into a rhythm, but Emily starts timing her punches into Courtney’s rhythm and nails the blonde again with a right, allowing DiDonato to get some space and work her jab a bit with her extra reach. Courtney still is in control of the fight as she gets close enough to start hitting DiDonato back and forces Emily to block the powerful punches. The first round comes to an end and the round is Tailor’s on points, wide.

Round 2:

The two models start the second with the same fervor as the first, but this time, Emily is able to keep Courtney just out of the blonde’s reach, allowing the brunette to dominate the first minute, knocking Tailor backwards as the SI girl lands a pair of jabs into Tailor’s face. Courtney plants her feet and returns fire, catching DiDonato with a right straight that gets the blonde a reprieve. Tailor repositions herself and gets in two ribshots that draw a wince out of DiDo, then the blonde repositions again and gets smoked by a right from Emily! DiDonato quickly goes body, thumping Tailor’s chest and ribs, throwing in a couple shots to the head for good measure as Emily backs Courtney up into the ropes and the Goshen Goddess is going to candyland, viciously pounding Tailor as the blonde seemingly can’t wrap up the model until well after DiDonato has started to paint a multicolor bruise onto the blonde’s right side. Once the two girls are separated after Tailor finally clinches and gets a break. DiDonato still getting the better end of the last minute, but Courtney does land some blows back onto the former champ before time expires. DiDonato evens the score up, winning the second round on points, wide.

Round 3:

Both girls are settling in as the third round starts and DiDonato picks up right where she left off the previous round, pounding a right through Tailor’s guard and squaring up for a left straight when Courtney charges Emily, catching the brunette by surprise. Emily throws a short right to try and catch Courtney, but Tailor dodges the blow and clocks DiDonato with a right to the chin and Emily staggers backwards. Courtney stepping forward and working body, driving rights and lefts into Emily’s torso, looking to make a bruise on DiDo’s body as payback, and she gets a solid string of punches into Emily’s body before the brunette finds a response that gets Courtney in her nose and forces her to back off. The two girls start circling and Emily starts jabbing from range, but Courtney is able to just barely avoid the brunette’s blows and smack her back with counters. The bell rings, and Courtney gets ahead again by winning the round.

Round 4:

The fourth round picks up where the third left off, with Courtney looking to use her power advantage and Emily trying to keep moving, sticking Courtney, and moving again. Tailor connects with a solid left just below DiDonato’s eye early on and Emily quickly retreats but Courtney lands a follow up left that knocks Em back into the ropes. Tailor pounces and drives two vicious blows into DiDonato’s toned midriff, but the brunette model is ready instantly with a two-punch response that snaps Courtney’s head backwards and allows DiDonato enough room to work forward and out of the ropes. Tailor quickly regains her traction though and goes back to Em’s body, continuing to batter the brunette’s ribs, but DiDonato starts to get her counterpunch working, tagging Tailor in the chin every time the blonde goes after the brunette’s body. Courtney still landing her big punches, but irregularly as Emily keeps on moving and sticking whenever she can. The round goes to Tailor, but close.

Round 5:

As the fight nears its halfway point, Emily DiDonato makes a beeline for Courtney Tailor after the bell and the brunette model was clearly told to start fighting her own fight rather than letting Tailor dictate the terms. Emily lands a right jab from range and feints left before coming back with a right hook that catches Courtney. But the big blonde Texan doesn’t let Emily escape without a response, digging a right straight into Emily’s chest, pancaking her breast as Tailor slings a left into DiDo’s ribs. Emily responds with a left to Courtney’s chest before she backs off, forcing a pause as the two girls have separation between them. Both girls start circling each other, and the taller DiDonato again goes back to that jab that got her to where she is today, landing a pair of chinshots on Courtney as the blonde has to almost lunge back at the brunette to get some sort of trade, but continuing to work on Emily’s model body by the bell. Another close round, but this time it goes DiDonato’s way.

Round 6:

DiDonato and Tailor aren’t showing any signs of slowing down as they enter the back half of the fight, as they both bound out of their corners and instantly start trading blows. DiDo lands the first punch, a right into Tailor’s ribs, but Courtney comes back with a left that catches Emily in just below her eye and then connects with a right into Emily’s chest. DiDonato quickly retreats around the ring as Tailor chases after the Sports Illustrated model, again, pounding DiDonato’s body whenever she gets a chance. Emily has to do something to get Tailor off of her and she plants her feet and throws out a straight punch that nails Courtney right on the nose and the blonde girl just stops in her tracks! The Odds and Ends corner screams at the blonde girl to drop back and cover up, but Emily’s already nailed one, two, three straights into Courtney’s nose as a trickle of blood leaks out of the blonde’s nostril. Tailor gets her gloves up but DiDonato splits them with a straight right that finds Tailor’s chin and the blonde girl goes down! Tailor on all fours, shaking her head as the ref counts in front of her. The blonde girl is able to make it to her feet at eight, and she tells the ref, “I’m gonna knock her out.” The ref shrugs and the fight resumes and DiDonato goes right for Tailor, and the two girls start trading blows like they’re competing to see which girl will be left standing after a slugfest! Tailor lands a big right and DiDonato stumbles backwards. Courtney steps up and throws a big left – but nobody’s home as Emily dodges the blow and clocks Courtney with another blow to the nose, snapping her head backwards and knocking her into the ropes and on comes Emily! DiDonato pouring on the pain, bashing Tailor in the ropes as the blonde’s nose leaks more and more blood and Tailor starts to sag in the ropes, her arms dropping AND THE REF STEPS IN! Tailor’s a bloody semi-conscious mess and your winner by TKO6, Emily DiDonato!

After:

DiDonato wastes no time raising her arms up in the air and shouting “I f*cking told you!” as medics rush out to tend to Tailor’s face. Emily paces around the ring as the medics stop the bleeding and the brunette model eventually goes over to ask the medics what kind of condition Tailor’s in. Whatever the medic says, the Sports Illustrated model nods before she bends over her fallen opponent.

“Payback’s a pain, isn’t it?” Emily coos as Courtney looks up with an uncertain expression, unsure of what fate she faces. “It’s not really my style to humiliate a girl who I’ve busted up, even though I want some revenge, but now we’re even. One and one.” DiDonato stares down at Tailor for a second longer before she gets up and leaves the ring, sparing a wounded Tailor additional humiliation.

“I knew I could beat her,” Emily tells the press, “But on to the next blonde. Kate Upton. I know you were watching tonight. And let me tell you – unlike Courtney, I’m not going to spare you from any humiliation.”

With that, DiDonato leaves the press to ponder what will happen when she faces off against Kate Upton in two weeks as the underdog.
