Joey King – |5’4”|20|3:2|Emilia’s Empresses|
Tessa Thompson – |5’3”|36|0:4|Free Agent|

Pre-Fight: Joey has been working hard for this one, as a matter of fact, she's been working non-stop since her Ashley Benson loss. Vengeful but keeping her cool, tonight, she gets to show off what she's learned (or hasn't learned) on Tessa Thompson who is yet to win a fight in the FCBA. Nevertheless, both women enter the ring with a determined look on their faces. Joey enters first wearing a red bra & panties combo while Tessa sports, a more sporty look, pardon the pun, with a black sports bra and gym shorts.

Round 1: The first round started slowly with the fighters meticulously stalking each other, eager to strike but waiting for the perfect opportunity. That opportunity came for Joey; she called Tessa’s bluff when she approached her with a fake punch and resulted in Tessa getting spruced up with a couple of lovely hooks around her ribs. Not wanting to push her luck, Joey backed out, refusing to trade punches with Tessa who panicked and threw a few pre-emptive jabs towards Joey. Just as she fades away, Joey lands a swift right cross landing on Tessa's nose. Irritated, just tries to jab her way back into the fight but by the time she raises her arms Joey is already gone. Joey keeps her distance, knowing Tessa will come after her only to evade her punches, retaliate with a few more jabs and scatter to the other side of the ring for a very dominant opening round.

Round 2: Tessa’s corner crew telling her to keep her cool, not chase the girl around and get irritated so easily. Tessa obliges, entering the second round on defence as the pace slows down. Noticing that Tessa isn’t moving much and staying along the ropes, Joey approaches her aggressively with a pair of hooks as she falls right into Tessa’s trap. Instead of trading punches with the feisty girl, Tessa moves out of the way letting Joey get entangled in the ropes and by the times she gets out, Tessa is on top of her bashing her cheeks with hooks and her temple with jabs followed up by a cross. Unable to escape, Joey switches back to defence, choosing to fight from the ropes but proving not too efficient as Tessa picks her apart, covering her in red marks and giving her a bloody nose, making a statement that the fight is far from over.

Round 3: The confident look she had is no longer on Joey’s face as the third round begins. On the other hand, Tessa prepares to go to war engaging the younger girl at the bell and forcing her to trade punches. Tessa’s punches overwhelm Joey, making her unsure of where to defend and before she knows it a nasty right uppercut sends her on her back for the first knockdown of the night. Joey wipes the blood from her face and gets up on the count of seven, immediately running away, keeping a distance from Tessa’s furious fists. Tessa tries chasing her around but at 36 she is unable to keep up with a much younger opponent. She runs out of stamina quite quickly, slowing the pace of the fight to a grinding halt. Joey notices and capitalises on the opportunity, approaching her with multiple jabs and a cross. Taking a beating in the first half of the round takes a toll on Joey as she is unable to do too much damage before the bell, concluding the round in a draw.

Round 4: With both fighters on equal footing, pep talks are coming from both corners as the girls come out tired but ready. Like the opening round, it starts off slowly with neither fighter showings signs of aggressing and like the opening round, it’s Joey who gets the upper hand again when Tessa fails to block both of her uppercuts leaving her staggered near the ropes. Joey limps over to her staggered opponent, opening up with a series of jabs and following up with a series of hooks to her ribs, slowly but surely beating the fight out of her. Tessa drops down to her knees at the two-minute mark with both of her arms wrapped around her battered ribs. She rises at seven with a desperate look on her face, wanting to stay in the fight but not wanting to engage her opponent. She stays ropeside with her gloves raised. It doesn’t matter as Joey rushes her flanks, doing more damage to those already bruised ribs for a definite shutout.

Round 5: The fight is all but over for Tessa who rises from her stool exhausted, with her mouth open and barely able to move. Joey moves forward, firing more hooks to Tessa’s ribs without any retaliation whatsoever. She does as she pleases, working around Tessa’s barely raised arms as Tessa groans painfully. Joey moves upstairs with a couple of haymakers, followed up with a rapid jabbing series giving Tessa’s face some brand-new cuts and bruises. The ref has seen enough, moves in and stops the fight as Tessa drops down to canvas.

Winner by TKO in Round 5: Joey King

Post-Fight: “Tonight was challenging and I have to commend Tessa for that. She put up a good fight but in the end I was victorious. It has been a tough ride so far but with every fight I am starting to feel more at hope in the FCBA.” Joey tells the press.
