GIRLS OF SCI-FI AT THE ASYLUM III: SEASON OF THE WITCH

BEFORE:

"Don't bring up the last time I was here," Ksenia says with a shake of the head. "I was in against Winter, who's a top-level fighter. This girl? She's just some Disney kid. And, I know how to deal with Disney kids."

"I may be a kid," says a hard-eyed Meg, "But, this kid is going to whip Ksenia Solo's butt."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Black Velvet' by Alannah Myles you here, and that can only mean that the lovely Ksenia Solo is on her way to the ring..."

Cassie: "This is the part where, before Mac starts babbling, I point out that Solo has FCBA wins..."

McCarthy: "She has FCBA LOSSES, too, plenty of them. Oh. And, SHUT UP, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "Ksenia into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that pitch black number we've seen before, and she's clearly ready for action, judging by that expression. And, that's 'BAAM' booming through the arena..."

McCarthy: "I LIKE this song, even if this kid is quickly turning into a typical Dancing Hooker..."

O'Dell: "The singer of that song, 'The Peapack Punisher', Meg Donnelly, is heading to the ring as we speak."

Tess: "Meg off to a good start here at Front Street. But, if she wants to keep up in a very competitive flyweight division here, she needs to keep getting results."

O'Dell: "Meg into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve and the crowd liking the way she looks in that yellow number we've seen before..."

McCarthy: "Low. Standards."

O'Dell: "And, the ladies are about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Meg. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Solo has wins. She'll beat this Dancing Hooker..."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Split panel to lead off the night. And Solo getting right to work here trying to make Mac look good. Ksenia stepping right to Meg and backing the blonde up with hard shot. Donnelly giving ground, thrown to the defensive early, as the veteran takes control of this thing..."

Cassie: "Not what I'd have expected from the brunette."

O'Dell: "Not what Donnelly expected, either, it looks like. Blonde is out of sorts, being backed up and forced to cover up. Meg firing back here and there, but she's not getting much done offensively, while Solo's already in a nice rhythm less than two minutes into the fight..."

McCarthy: "TOLD you. Dancing Hooker!"

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch. Good flurry there from the brunette. Blonde covers up again and then ties up Solo. Ref in to break them and Ksenia right back after the younger woman, backing her up yet again with another hard flurry and there's the bell. Not close in the first. Solo."

Tess: "And, Ksenia up 10-9 early."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with Donnelly seeming to adjust now. She's getting her jab working and her feet moving. Ksenia still looking to pressure, and she's getting some work done, but she's not running over Meg now. Instead, the blonde is getting some space with that left and combined with good foot movement."

Cassie: "Meg's a smart girl just like Uncle Wiz likes. She was always going to figure this out."

McCarthy: "If she were SMART she wouldn't have signed to join Weirdo's cesspool!"

O'Dell: "Solo inside, banging away. Donnelly firing back, then circling away, getting back to range, back to using the jab. This has gone from one-way stuff in the first to a good, two-way round here in the second. Both blonde and brunette having their moments, and not a lot in it."

Tess: "Donnelly looking a lot more comfortable, but, as you point out, Solo still doing well."

O'Dell: "Final twenty seconds and a SHARP exchange there! Meg may have gotten the better of that one, as Ksenia covers up and Donnelly circles away, sets up behind the jab, sticking, moving, and there's the bell. Close. Very close. But the points to the blonde this time."

McCarthy: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Ladies back to it, with each working to impose terms and neither succeeding. Solo able to come forward, get off heavy, back up Meg at times, but Donnelly able to mitigate that with the jab and the feet, creating the space she needs to box and use her quickness."

Tess: "Donnelly showing some excellent foot work right now."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. She's definitely become a more polished fighter since joining Front Street back in January. Still a long way to go, of course, but, considering she turned 20 six days ago, she has time. Nice combination there by Meg and answered in kind by the brunette."

McCarthy: "Ksenia just needs to hang in there right now. One of these times, when she gets inside, she'll out this kid away."

O'Dell: "Fifteen to go in another close round. Meg jabbing, circling way. Ksenia working forward, angling, gets inside and bangs a little body. Haven't seen much of that so far in this one. And, that takes us to the bell. Close again. This time the points go to the brunette."

Cassie: "And Ksenia back on top 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Terms pretty much set here. Solo set on working forward, not going to try to box the younger woman. Meg wants space, wants to use that jab. Both ladies getting some, but not enough of what they want, and the result has been two very competitive rounds and now the beginnings of a third..."

McCarthy: "Solo just biding her time. She'll get the kid..."

O'Dell: "Ksenia forward behind the jab, inside, works a little body, then forces Meg to cover up with a hard flurry. Donnelly circling away. Brunette again angling forward, working inside and GETTING ROCKED! Meg lands a hard right hook and Solo stumbles backward and is DROPPED BY A NASTY FLURRY FROM THE BLONDE!"

Cassie: "Might not get up from that..."

O'Dell: "Ksenia down on her back. Donnelly to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Solo rolling to her belly at six. She's pushing up to hands and knees at seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Ksenia can't get off all fours and it's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is 'The Peapack Punisher', Meg Donnelly!"

Tess: "And, one look at Wiz up in the box will tell you that Meg continues to impress."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Meg Donnelly, and, Meg, started off a little rough tonight..."

Meg (nodding): "Yeah. My fault. She likes to box, and, when she didn't, I didn't adjust quickly enough. Heard it in the corner, though, and figured I might want to get in gear before Neve REALLY let me have it."

Tess: "And, you did get in gear..."

Meg: "Yeah. She's slick. And she knows what she's doing. But, after that first, I felt good. I felt like I'd get her. And, I did."
